Аннотация: We propose an optodynamical model of interaction of pulsed laser radiation with aggregates of spherical metallic nanoparticles embedded into host media. The model takes into account polydispersity of particles, pair interactions between the particles, dissipation of absorbed energy, heating and melting of the metallic core of particles and of their polymer adsorption layers, and heat exchange between electron and ion components of the particle material as well as heat exchange with the interparticle medium. Temperature dependence of the electron relaxation constant of the particle material and the effect of this dependence on interaction of nanoparticles with laser radiation are first taken into consideration. We study in detail light-induced processes in the simplest resonant domains of multiparticle aggregates consisting of two particles of an arbitrary size in aqueous medium. Optical interparticle forces are realized due to the light-induced dipole interaction. The dipole moment of each particle is calculated by the coupled dipole method (with correction for the effect of higher multipoles). We determined the role of various interrelated factors leading to photomodification of resonant domains and found an essential difference in the photomodification mechanisms between polydisperse and monodisperse nanostructures.

Аннотация: We analyze superconducting instabilities in 3D and 2D extended Hubbard model with Coulomb repulsion between electrons on neighboring sites in the limit of low electron density (n(el) - 0) on simple cubic (square) lattice. We show that in a realistic strong-coupling case U V W (U and V are the onsite and the intersite Coulomb repulsions, respectively, and W the bandwidth) the main SC instability corresponds to the p-wave pairing and in the leading order is correctly described by the equations obtained earlier in the absence of the intersite Coulomb interaction V = 0.

Аннотация: The films of a polymer-dispersed nematic liquid crystal doped with an ionic surfactant were studied. The surface-anchoring modification effect caused by the local increase in the concentration of surface-active ions was observed at the polymer-liquid crystal interface under the action of an electric field. The modification of the boundary conditions leads to the transformation of the orientational structure of the nematic droplets and, as a result, to an appreciable change in their texture patterns and light-scattering efficiency at the interfaces. The monopolar director configurations (normal and curved) arising in the process of orientational structure transformations are considered and their typical textures are demonstrated. The possibility that the monopolar structure can be formed is theoretically substantiated by the computer simulation of the director field in a nematic droplet with the boundary conditions corresponding to the experiment.

Аннотация: A comprehensive linear stability analysis of convection in the thermogravitational column is first performed for multicomponent fluids. Two types of perturbations are investigated: Longitudinal waves propagating in vertical direction of the column and transversal waves propagating perpendicular to the vertical axis and temperature gradient. The stability problems are reduced to those without cross-diffusion effect by a special transformation. The calculations are performed for binary and ternary mixtures by the Galerkin method. It is found that in binary fluids, the onset of longitudinal instability can be monotonic or oscillatory depending on the separation ratio, which characterizes the Soret effect. The difference between stability characteristics of binary and ternary fluids is associated with different diffusion times of components in a ternary system. It is shown that the mechanism of transversal instability is related to the unstable density stratification in the column (in total or due to individual components). The unstable stratification can only be realized in fluids with negative Soret effect. The analogue of exchange of stabilities principle for a plane column with a multicomponent fluid is proved. The obtained results indicate that the thermogravitational column can be used for measuring diffusion and thermal diffusion coefficients in ternary and higher mixtures with one or several components having negative Soret effect.

Аннотация: Для нематической смеси E7 производных цианобифенила исследована связь показателей преломления nj при поляризациях световой волны вдоль (j = ||) и нормально оптической оси (j = ⊥) с параметрами поляризуемости (компонентами γjα, средним значением γmα = (γ||α + 2γ⊥α)/3, анизотропией δγα = γ||α - γ⊥α) и ориентационным порядком молекул типа α, составляющих смесь. Для смеси введен тензор локального поля с компонентами fj =1+Lj(nj2 – 1). Получена связь компонент тензора Лорентца Lj с компонентами Ljα. Температурные зависимости Lj(Т) для смеси Е7 определены с использованием экспериментальных зависимостей nj(λ,Т) от длины световой волны λ. Подтверждена связь Lj(Ljα). Получена температурная зависимость S(Т) материального параметра порядка смеси. Обнаружено изменение среднего значения γm(Т) = ((γ|| + 2γ⊥)/3 для исследованной смеси за счет изменения S(Т). Показано, что зависимость γm(S) обусловлена противоположными по знаку вкладами от изменения конформации бифенильных остовов молекул и межмолекулярных взаимодействий. Полученные результаты сопоставлены со следствиями использования модельных тензоров fj, известных в литературе для смесей.
The relation of the refractive indices nj of the nematic mixture E7 consisting of cyanobiphenyl derivatives for the light-wave polarization along (j = ||) and across (j = ⊥) the optical axis with the polarizability parameters (components γjα, mean value γmα = (γ||α + 2γ⊥α)/3, anisotropy δγα = γ||α - γ⊥α) and orientational order of α-type molecules comprising the mixture was investigated. The local-field tensor with components fj =1+Lj(nj2 – 1) was introduced for the mixture and the relationship between the Lorentz-tensor components Lj and the components Ljα was established. The temperature dependences Lj(Т) for the E7 mixture were obtained using experimental dependences nj(λ,T). The relationship Lj(Ljα) was confirmed. The temperature dependence of the material order parameter S(T) was obtained. The change of the mean value γm(Т) = ((γ|| + 2γ⊥)/3 for the studied mixture due to changing of S(Т) was observed. The dependence γm(S) was shown to be caused by two opposite-sign contributions due to changing conformation of molecular biphenyl cores and intermolecular interactions. The obtained results were compared with the consequences of using model tensors fj, which literature data are known for mixtures.
