Аннотация: The hysteretic dependences of the magnetoresistance of porous (38% of the theoretical density) granular high-temperature superconductor (HTSC) Bi1.8Pb0.3Sr1.9Ca2Cu3O (x) have been analyzed in the model of the effective intergranular field. This effective field has been defined by the superposition of the external field and the field induced by magnetic moments of superconducting grains. The magnetic flux compression in an intergranular medium, characterized by the effective field, controls the hysteretic behavior of the magnetoresistance. It has been found that the magnetoresistance hysteresis width for the studied porous HTSC depends on the transport current, in contrast to the superconductor of the same composition with high physical density (more than 90% of the theoretical value). For a porous superconductor, a significant current concentration occurs in the region of the grain boundaries, which is caused by features of its microstructure. A current-induced increase in the effective boundary length results in a decrease in the flux compression, a decrease in the effective field in the intergranular medium, and a magnetoresistance hysteresis narrowing with increasing current.

Аннотация: The magnetoresistance of the textured high-temperature superconductor (HTSC) Bi1.8Pb0.3Sr1.9Ca2Cu3Ox + Ag has been studied at different directions of the transport current I and external magnetic field H with respect to crystallographic directions of HTSC crystallites. When I and H are oriented along the ab planes of crystallites and φ is the angle between H and I, the anisotropic part of the magnetoresistance follows the functional dependence sin2φ, which is characteristic of vortex flows under Lorentz forces. The magnetoresistance R at H parallel to the c axis of crystallites (H || c) is higher than R at H || ab for both cases of I || c and I || ab. The anisotropy coefficient γ ≈ 2.3 has been estimated from the scaling of the dependences R(H) measured at H || c and H || ab. The inclusion of the magnetic field induced by the transport current allows scaling of the dependences R(H) at different values of I. A qualitative picture of the current flow along the c axis of crystallites in the textured HTSC has been proposed. © 2015, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Аннотация: The influence of thermomagnetic prehistory on the behavior of a resistive transition R(T) in external magnetic fields of polycrystalline YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7) and Bi(1.8)Pb(0.3)Sr(1.9)Ca(2)Cu(3)O (x) high-temperature supercon-ductors and the Bi(1.8)Pb(0.3)Sr(1.9)Ca(2)Cu(3)O (x) + Ag texture has been investigated. It has been found that, for YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7), the thermomagnetic prehistory exerts a substantial influence on the dissipation in the subsystem of grain boundaries in magnetic fields up to similar to 10(3) Oe, and this effect becomes insignificant in fields higher than similar to 10(4) Oe. This behavior has been explained by the influence of magnetic moments of high-temperature superconductor grains on the effective magnetic field in the intergranular medium. For bismuth high-temperature superconductors, no influence of thermomagnetic prehistory on the resistive transition has been observed; however, this effect manifests itself in current-voltage characteristics at high transport current densities. There is also a radical difference in the behavior of isotherms of the magnetoresistance R(H) for the yttrium and bismuth systems. For YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7), there is a clear separation between the dissipation regimes in the intergranular medium and in grains, which manifests itself even at low transport current densities as a change of sign in the curvature of the dependence R(H). For a texture based on the bismuth high-temperature superconductor, this feature has been observed only at high current densities (comparable to the critical current density at H = 0). This difference in the behavior of magnetoresistive properties of the classical high-temperature superconductor systems under investigation has been explained by relatively low irreversibility fields of the bismuth high-temperature superconductors. In these materials, simultaneous processes of dissipation can occur in an external magnetic field both in the subsystem of grain boundaries between crystallites and in the crystallites themselves.

Аннотация: Electron-phonon interaction is sequentially derived from a realistic p-d multiband model for the cuprates under conditions of strong electron correlations. The electronic structure is described using the representation of the Hubbard X operators in a generalized tight-binding method. Dependences of the diagonal and off-diagonal (on lattice sites) matrix elements of electron-phonon interaction on the wavevectors are found for three phonon modes, namely, breathing, apical breathing, and bending modes. The interactions of the breathing and bending modes with electrons are shown to contribute to the formation of kinks in the (0; 0)-(pi; pi) and (0; 0)-(pi; 0) directions, respectively. A low-energy t-J* model with phonons is developed; apart from electron-phonon interaction, it also includes spin-phonon interaction. The elimination of phonons gives an effective electron-electron interaction that depends on the occupation number of a multielectron term and on the carrier concentration due to strong electron correlations. Аннотация: Local and fast structural probes using synchrotron radiation have shown nanoscale striped puddles and nanoscale phase separation in doped perovskites. It is known that the striped phases in doped perovskites are due to competing interactions involving charge, spin, and lattice degrees of freedom. In this work, we show that two different stripes can be represented as a superposition of a pair of stripes, U(θn) or D(θn), characterized by perovskite tilts where one of the pair is rotated in relation to the other partner by an angle Δθn = π/2. The spatial distribution of the U and D stripes is reduced to all possible maps in the well-known mathematical four-color theorem. Both the periodic striped puddles and random structures can be represented by using planar graphs with a chromatic number χ ≤ 4. To observe the colors in mapping experiments, it is necessary to recover variously oriented tilting effects from the replica. It is established that there is an interplay between the annihilation/creation of new stripes and ordering/disordering tilts in relation to the θn angle in the CuO2 plane, where the characteristic shape of the stripes coincides with the tilting-ordered regions.

Аннотация: Exotic perovskites significantly enrich materials for multiferroic and magnetoelectric applications. However, their design and synthesis is a challenge due to the mostly required recipe conditions at extremely high pressure. Herein, we presented the Ca2−xMnxMnTaO6 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1.0) solid solutions stabilized by chemical pressure assisted with intermediate physical pressure up to 7 GPa. The incorporation of Mn2+ into the A-site neither drives any cationic ordering nor modifies the orthorhombic Pbnm structure, namely written as (Ca1−x/2Mnx/2)(Mn1/2Ta1/2)O3 with disordered A and B site cationic arrangements. The increment of x is accompanied by a ferromagnetic to antiferromagnetic transition around x = 0.2, which is attributed to the double-exchange interactions between A-site Mn2+ and B-site Mn3+. Partial charge disproportionation of the B-site Mn3+ into Mn2+ and Mn4+ occurs for x above 0.8 samples as manifested by X-ray spectrum and magnetic behaviors. The coexistence of B-site Mn3+ (Jahn–Teller distortion ion) and B′-site Ta5+ (second-order Jahn–Teller distortion ion) could be energetically responsible for the absence of A-site columnar ordering as observed in other quadruple perovskites with half of the A-sites occupied by small transition-metal cations. These exceptional findings indicate that exotic perovskites can be successfully stabilized at chemical and intermediate physical pressure, and the presence of Jahn–Teller distortion cations at the same lattice should be avoided to enable cationic ordering.
