Аннотация: High-temperature G0 polymorph of Rb2KMoO3F3 has been prepared by melt solidification. Micromorphology and chemical properties of the final product were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The elpasolite-related crystal structure of G0-Rb2KMoO3F3 has been refined by Rietveld method at T = 298 K (space group Fm-3m, a = 8.92446(8) Å, V = 710.76(1) Å3; RB = 3.55%). Ferroelectric G1-Rb2KMoO3F3 polymorph, earlier reported at T˂328 K, is not found at T = 298 K.

Аннотация: Enrofloxacinium citrate monohydrate (I), C19H 23FN3O3+В·C6H7O7- В·H2O, [C19H22FN3O3 - enrofloxacin, EnrH] has been crystallized from the mutual solution of citric acid and enrofloxacin in ambient conditions. The colorless crystals have been investigated using X-ray single crystal and powder techniques, and characterized by differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetry and infrared spectroscopy. The obtained compound can be considered as a salt with enrofloxacinium in the role of a cation and citrate as an anion. The ions ratio equals to 1:1. The compound crystallizes in the triclinic lattice with a = 9.0489(8) A, b = 9.6531(8) A, c = 14.913(1) A, ? = 98.813(1)В°, ? = 92.029(1)В°, ? = 91.013(1)В°, Z = 2, V = 1286.1(2) A3, S.G. P1?. The crystal structure determination reveals the importance of inter- and intramolecular interactions in the crystal formation. The EnrH2+andH3Cit- molecular ions are packed in alternating layers with water molecules inserted into the citrate layers. A citrate ion in the layer is linked via H-bondings with two adjacent ones and three water molecules. Enrofloxacinium cations are packaged by means of a benched mode and every cation is linked by three intermolecular thymus type H-bondings with nitrogens of adjacent cations and by two links with the oxygen of the citrate ions. The infrared spectra gave the evidence of H-bonding formation in the obtained salt. The ?-stacking interactions are observed between the aromatic cycles of the adjacent cations which are located in an antiparallel style in a layer. В© 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Аннотация: The magnetic properties of three-layer Co-Ge magnetic films have been studied experimentally as a function of technological conditions of their deposition. It has been found that the films deposited at a high deposition rate have a granular structure, and the films obtained at a low deposition rate have an X-ray amorphous structure. Electron microscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance studies have demonstrated that, at the same cobalt layer thickness, the semiconductor granule sizes depend on the average semiconductor layer thickness and correlate with the formation of different cobalt phases (amorphous, cubic, and hexagonal). The thermomagnetic properties of the films have been investigated. © 2014 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Аннотация: The high-pressure behaviour of cordierite, a widespread ring aluminosilicate with channels incorporating fluid compounds (H2O, CO2), is characterized by the absence of phase transitions up to 2.5 GPa. However, the distortion of the ring tetrahedra observed previously at 2.3 GPa is supposed to introduce a phase transition at higher pressure, which has not been checked so far. This work presents a high-pressure Raman spectroscopic study of natural cordierite compressed in water medium up to 4.7 GPa in a diamond anvil cell. At P > 4 GPa, a disordering of both the framework and intrachannel H2O subsystem is apparent from significant broadening of Raman peaks and the evolution of short-range order parameters. This is followed by abrupt shifts of the framework and O–H stretching modes at about 4.5 GPa, indicating a first-order phase transition. Its reversibility is seen from the recovery of the initial spectrum at P < 3 GPa. The shift amplitudes of different framework modes indicate the predominance of distortion over contraction of the framework polyhedra upon this transition. The disordering of the H2O subsystem in the high-pressure phase is likely a consequence of distortion of the channel-forming framework elements, which is supposed to be a driving force of this transition. Аннотация: The heat capacity and thermal expansion of the PbTiO3 ceramic sample have been measured in the temperature range 80–970 K. The electrocaloric and barocaloric efficiencies of lead titanate in the ferroelectric phase transition range have been investigated by analyzing the experimental data in terms of the thermodynamic theory of phase transitions, the electrical equation of state P(T, E), the Pippard equation, and the S(T, p) diagram.

Аннотация: Temperature dependent neutron diffraction studies were performed on SmFe3(BO3)4. The crystallographic structure was determined to stay as R32 over the whole studied temperature range of 2 K ‹ T ‹ 300 K. A magnetic phase transition characterized by the magnetic propagation vector κ = [0 0 3/2] takes place at TN = 34 K. The magnetic structure sees an easy-plane arrangement within the trigonal basal a–b-plane of ferromagnetic layers of iron and samarium having a canting angle of about 70° relative to each other. Neighbouring layers in the c-direction are antiferromagnetically coupled; at 2 K the magnetic moment values amount to μFe = 4.2(1) μB and μSm = 0.8(2) μB. The non-Brillouin type increase of the iron magnetic moment below TN points to a strong Fe–Sm exchange and to the simultaneous appearance of long range magnetic order on both sublattices.

Аннотация: The components L j of the Lorentz tensor and the polarizability density of molecules G in the smectic-A and crystalline-B phases have been determined for homologues of the series of alkyl-p-(4-alkoxybenzylideneamino-)cinnamates. The quantity L j (G) in both phases is a linear (quadratic) function of the orientational order parameter of molecules S, which is invariant (noninvariant) with respect to the A-B transition, which is manifested in the form of jumps δL j and δG and enhancement of the G(S) dependence. An increase in the length of terminal molecular chains and weakening of interlayer correlation of molecules are accompanied by strengthening of the A-B transition of the first order and G(S) dependences in both phases together with an increase in δL j and δG. Change δG and dependence G(S) in the B phase are related to change in the conformation (flattening) of aromatic molecular cores.

Аннотация: The correlation between experimental magnetic field dependences of magnetoresistance and magnetization hysteresis in granular YBa2Cu3O7 is established. Within the proposed approach, magnetoresistance is assumed to be determined by the effective field in the intergrain boundaries the ensemble of which is considered to be a Josephson medium. The effective field in the intergrain medium can be written in the form B (eff)(H)=H-4 pi M(H)x alpha, where alpha is the parameter of averaged demagnetizing factors of grains and the degree of flux compression. A comparison of experimental magnetoresistance R(H) and magnetization M(H) hysteresis dependences obtained at different external magnetic field sweep rates yields the value alpha similar to 10, which is caused by the flux compression between grains. The proposed model describes well most of the features of the magnetoresistance hysteresis in granular high-T (C) superconductors.

Аннотация: The direct (MEH-) and inverse (MEE-) magnetoelectric effects in the HoAl3(BO3)4 single crystal are studied. Temperature and magnetic field dependences of permittivity of the crystal are investigated. A relation between the investigated effects was established. It was found that the magnetoelectric effect can exist in crystals without magnetic order or spontaneous polarization. It was shown that the phenomena investigated are due to magnetostriction or magnetoelastic effect. The thermodynamic potential was considered for describing magnetoelectric effect at low magnetic fields. The results obtained are explained within a proposed qualitative microscopic model, based on interplay of configuration of 4f- electron subshell of the rare-earth element and applied magnetic or electric field.
Изучаются прямой (MEH-) и обратный (МЭА-) магнитоэлектрические эффекты в монокристалле HoAl3(BO3)4 . Зависимости диэлектрической проницаемости кристалла от температуры и магнитного поля исследованы. Была создана связь между исследованными эффектами. Было обнаружено, что магнитоэлектрический эффект может существовать в кристаллах без магнитного порядка или спонтанной поляризации. Было показано, что исследуемые явления происходят из-за магнитострикции или магнитоупругого эффекта. Термодинамический потенциал рассчитывался для описания магнитоэлектрический эффект в слабых магнитных полях. Полученные результаты объясняются в рамках предложенной качественной микроскопической модели, основанной на взаимодействии конфигурации 4f-электронов в подоболочке редкоземельного элемента и внешнего магнитного или электрического поля.

Аннотация: Dielectric, X-ray, Mossbauer and magnetization studies of (1 − x)PbFe0.5Ta0.5O3–(x)PbTiO3 ceramics with 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.3 have been carried out to determine the compositional evolution of ferroelectric and magnetic phase transition temperatures. Addition of PbTiO3 to PbFe0.5Ta0.5O3 increases the temperature T m of the dielectric permittivity maximum, decreases both the diffusion of this maximum and its frequency dependence. However, the Curie–Weiss temperature exceeds T m for all the compositions studied, indicating that the phase transition still remains diffused. Dilution of the (Fe, Ta)-sublattice by Ti lowers the Neel temperature T N but above a certain compositional threshold (x ≈ 0.1) fast lowering of T N stops and a new magnetic state stable in a rather wide compositional range appears. Large difference between the zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and FC magnetization–temperature curves as well as between the temperatures of magnetic phase transition determined from Mossbauer and magnetization studies for compositions with x 0.1 implies that this state is a spin-glass phase.

Аннотация: Low-temperature ferroelectric G2 polymorph of K3WO 3F3 has been prepared by chemical synthesis. Structural and chemical properties of the final product have been evaluated with X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Structure parameters of G2-K 3WO3F3 are refined by the Rietveld method from XRD data measured at room temperature (space group Cm, Z = 2, a = 8.7350(3), b = 8.6808(5), c = 6.1581(3), ? = 135.124(3), V = 329.46(3) 3; RB = 2.47%). Partial ordering of oxygen and fluorine atoms has been found over anion positions. Mechanism of ferroelectric phase transition in A2BMO3F3 oxyfluorides is discussed. В© 2010 Elsevier B.V. Аннотация: A modification of the widespread phenomenological model theory of multiple-quantum (MQ) nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of a single cluster of correlated spins has been developed. In contrast to the mentioned theory, the size distribution of such clusters has been consistently taken into account. To obtain the distribution, solutions for the amplitudes of the expansion in the complete set of orthogonal operators are used. Expressions specifying the dependence of the profile of the intensities of MQ coherences on their number n (order) have been obtained. The total form of the dependence has been evaluated by means of the numerical implementation of the resulting expressions. The asymptotic expressions for large n values (wings of the spectrum) have been obtained analytically by the saddle-point method. It has been shown that the dependence under study has a Gaussian central part and exponential wings. The results obtained are in agreement with the previous calculations for some model systems and existing experimental data.

Аннотация: X-ray analysis revealed that at temperature decreasing from room temperature to Tstr = 155 K the crystal unit cell GdFe3(BO3)4 is reduced only along the c axis (at 0.01 Å), while the a and b axes are unchanged within the error limits. The volume of the crystal decreases uniformly in the direction of all three axes at 155–80 K. At 80–30 K the crystal volume is decreased only by reduction of the parameters a and b, while the parameter c increases conversely. In the paramagnetic region Mössbauer spectra do not distinguish between the two structural positions of iron ions Fe1 and Fe2, appearing at T < Tstr. Below the temperature of the magnetic phase transition at TN = 38.0(1) K the Mössbauer data indicate quasi-one-dimensional magnetic ordering of iron moments in the sublattice Fe2 and a two-dimensional one in the iron sublattice Fe1. The dynamics of spin reorientation in sublattices Fe1 and Fe2 is studied in detail.
Рентгеновский анализ показал, что при уменьшении температуры от комнатной до Tstr = 155 K изменение параметра элементарной ячейки кристалла GdFe3(BO3)4 происходит лишь вдоль оси с (при 0,01 Å), в то время как а и b оси остаются неизменными в пределах погрешности измерений. Объем кристалла уменьшается равномерно в направлении всех трех осей при 155-80 K. При 80-30 K объем кристалла уменьшается только уменьшением параметров a и b, в то время как параметр с наоборот увеличивается. В парамагнитной области Мессбауэровские спектры не различают двух структурных позиций ионов железа Fe1 и Fe2, появляющиеся при Т˂Tstr. Ниже температуры магнитного фазового перехода при TN = 38,0(1) К Мёссбауэрские данные указывают на квази-одномерный магнитное упорядочение моментов железа в подрешетке Fe2 и двумерное в железной подрешетке Fe1. Динамика спиновой переориентации в подрешетках Fe1 и Fe2 подробно изучается.

Аннотация: Low-temperature studies of the behavior of the sound velocity and attenuation of acoustic modes have been performed on a single crystal NdFe3(BO3)(4) Transitions of the magnetic subsystem to the antiferromagnetically ordered state at T-N approximate to 30.6 K have been revealed in the temperature behavior of the elastic characteristics. The features in the temperature behavior of elastic characteristics of the neodymium ferroborate and its behavior in the external magnetic field, applied in the basic plane of the crystal, permit us to suppose that the transition to an incommensurate spiral phase is realized in the system. This phase transition behaves as the first order one. H-T phase diagrams for the cases H parallel to a and H parallel to b have been constructed. Аннотация: The vibration frequencies of unstable ferroelectric and antiferrodistortion modes and the dependences of the energy on the ion displacement amplitude have been calculated within the generalized Gordon-Kim model for distortions along eigenvectors of these modes in the mixed compounds Sr(1-x)A(x)Ti(1-x/4)square O-x/4(3) and Sr(1-y)A(2y/3)square y/3TiO3 (A = Sc3+, In3+, La3+, Bi3+; square is the vacancy). To compensate an excess positive charge, vacancies are introduced into the Ti4+ or Sr2+ site. Calculations have been performed in the "average" crystal approximation for impurity concentrations of 0.25 and 0.50. To this end, a set of 40 atomic superlattices with various orderings of heterovalent ions Sr2+ and impurity A(3+) has been considered. It has been found that each impurity type, independently of charge balance, induces ferroelectric instabilities in doped compounds. In the case of doping with In3+ and La3+ for concentration x = 0.25, the possibility of rotating the polarization vector has been shown.

Аннотация: We analyze superconducting instabilities in 3D and 2D extended Hubbard model with Coulomb repulsion between electrons on neighboring sites in the limit of low electron density (n(el) - 0) on simple cubic (square) lattice. We show that in a realistic strong-coupling case U V W (U and V are the onsite and the intersite Coulomb repulsions, respectively, and W the bandwidth) the main SC instability corresponds to the p-wave pairing and in the leading order is correctly described by the equations obtained earlier in the absence of the intersite Coulomb interaction V = 0.

Аннотация: Crystals of SrAlF5 have been grown by the Bridgman method from the melt and by sintering of the components. Optical polarization studies and measurements of the thermal expansion and birefringence coefficients have been carried out over a wide temperature range. The electromechanical coefficient d (33) has been measured, and the optical second harmonic, dielectric hysteresis loop, and optical quality of the crystal have been assessed. X-ray diffraction investigations have been performed to identify the revealed compounds. It has been demonstrated that the SrAlF5 crystals obtained under the growth conditions chosen have I4(1)/a symmetry and do not undergo structural phase transitions in the temperature range 100-800 K. Crystalline inclusions of the AlOF oxyfluoride have been revealed in crystals grown with an AlF3 excess. The birefringence of the AlOF crystal is an order of magnitude higher than that of SrAlF5, does not depend on temperature, and has no anomalies up to 800 K.

Аннотация: Ferrihydrite nanoparticles (2-5 nm in size) produced by bacteria Klebsiella oxytoca in the course of biomineralization of iron salt solutions from a natural medium exhibit unique magnetic properties: they are characterized by both the antiferromagnetic order inherent in a bulk ferrihydrite and the spontaneous magnetic moment due to the decompensation of spins in sublattices of a nanoparticle. The magnetic susceptibility enhanced by the superantiferromagnetism effect and the magnetic moment independent of the magnetic field provide the possibility of magnetically controlling these natural objects. This has opened up the possibilities for their use in nanomedicine and bioengineering. The results obtained from measurements of the magnetic properties of the ferrihydrite produced by Klebsiella oxytoca in its two main crystalline modifications are reported, and the data obtained are analyzed theoretically. This has made it possible to determine numerical values of the magnetic parameters of real biomineral nanoparticles.

Аннотация: A coordinated investigation of the magnetic and electrical properties of polycrystalline cobalt oxide compounds CdCoO3, Gd0.9Ba0.1CoO3, and Gd0.9Sr0.1CoO3 is carried out. Undoped GdCoO3 reveals a low conductivity; a magnetic moment of 7.4 mu(B) per molecule, which is less than the theoretical value for the Gd3+ ion; and an asymptotic Curie temperature of -6 K. Doping GdCoO3 with barium and strontium to substitution of 10 at. % Gd brings about an increase in the conductivity and magnetic transitions at T = 300 K for Gd0.9Ba0.1CoO3 and T = 170 K for Gd0.9Sr0.1CoO3. The magnetization anomalies imply the formation of magnetic clusters. The behavior of the electrical conductivity at high temperatures suggests a variable activation energy. At low temperatures, Mott hopping conduction sets in.
