Аннотация: Raman spectra of a polycrystalline sample of the perovskite-like oxyfluoride (NH4)(3)TiOF5 are measured in the frequency region 100-3600 cm(-1) at temperatures ranging from 91 to 370 K under hydrostatic pressures of up to 9 GPa, which include the range of the phase transition from the orientationally disordered cubic phase to the low-symmetry phase. Anomalies in the spectral parameters due to the phase transition are revealed in the range of vibrations of TiOF5 octahedral groups.

Аннотация: Raman scattering spectra of perovskite-like (NH4)(3)WO3F3 oxyfluoride are studied in the 70-3600 cm(-1) frequency range and the 93-323 K temperature range including the transition point from orientationally disordered cubic phase into the lower symmetry one. Internal vibrations of ammonium ions and WO3F3 octahedra have been found to exhibit transition anomalies. Analysis of measurements suggests that the transition under study is due mainly to the ordering of octahedra.

Аннотация: We have synthesized magnetic powders of the magnetite-maghemite series by the chemical reaction of the FeSO4 iron salt and the natural arabinogalactan polysaccharide. These particles with a high magnetization value (∼ 300 Gs) represent a mixture of spherical particles and nanorods. Particles of a spherical shape (diameter of ∼ 5–6 nm) show a superparamagnetic behavior at room temperature, while rods with a diameter of ∼ 5 nm and a length of 30 nm are magnetic. We have prepared sol samples based on the nanoparticle aqueous solution of arabinogalactan. Our results on the magnetism of the circular dichroism (MCD) on sol are consistent with the of Mössbauer spectroscopy data.

Аннотация: Biogenic ferrihydrite nanoparticles were synthesized as a result of the cultivation of Klebsiella oxytoca microorganisms. The distribution of nanoparticles in the body of laboratory animals and the physical properties of the nanoparticles were studied. The synthesized ferrihydrite nanoparticles are superparamagnetic at room temperature, and the characteristic blocking temperature is 23-25 K. The uncompensated moment of ferrihydrite particles was determined to be approximately 200 Bohr magnetons. In vitro testing of different concentrations of ferrihydrite nanoparticles for the functional activity of neutrophilic granulocytes by the chemiluminescence method showed an increase in the release of primary oxygen radicals by blood phagocytes when exposed to a minimum concentration and a decrease in secondary radicals when exposed to a maximum concentration. In vivo testing of ferrihydrite nanoparticles on Wister rats showed that a suspension of ferrihydrite nanoparticles has chronic toxicity, since it causes morphological changes in organs, mainly in the spleen, which are characterized by the accumulation of hemosiderin nanoparticles (stained blue according to Perls). Ferrihydrite can also directly or indirectly stimulate the proliferation and intracellular regeneration of hepatocytes. The partial detection of Perls-positive cells in the liver and kidneys can be explained by the rapid elimination from organs and the high dispersion of the nanomaterial. Thus, it is necessary to carry out studies of these processes at the systemic level, since the introduction of nanoparticles into the body is characterized by adaptive-proliferative processes, accompanied by the development of cell dystrophy and tension of the phagocytic system.

Аннотация: Phase transition in FeTiF6·xH2O·yD2O crystals has been studied by Raman spectroscopy. The 611 cm-1 line corresponding to mode A1g of [TiF6]2- system does not exhibit anomalous behavior associated with the phase transition. The temperature studies showed that below the phase transition temperature, the equivalence of D2O molecules in FeTiF6·xH2O·yD2O octahedron is broken. The phase transition mechanism in the compound under study is associated with Fe(xH2O·yD2O) complex.

Аннотация: Infrared absorption of (NH4)(3)WO3F3 compound has been studied. Profile of asymmetric band in 600-1000 cm (1) range associated with polar W-O vibrations of WO3F33- ions is explicable on the basis of multi-oscillatory dynamics with account of damping. Complex profile with Evans holes proves that internal modes of WO3F33- anions in the fluorine-oxygen octahedron interact due to the effects of the local field. (C) 2011 Elsevier B. V. Аннотация: In order to clarify ordering mechanisms of ferroic phase transitions in double fluoride salts (NH4)3SnF7, (NH4)3GeF7 and (NH4)3TiF7, their Raman scattering spectra have been studied in wide ranges of frequencies (20–3400 cm−1) and temperatures (8–410 K). Substitution of the central ion in the octahedron groups was found to change not only the phase transition types and sequences, but to modify the types of structural disorder as well, which is a special feature of these high-symmetry fluoride crystals.

Аннотация: Study of the magnetic properties of the FeTiF6 ‧ 6 H2O single crystal has shown that this compound is a two-dimensional antiferromagnet with a Néеl temperature of TN = 8 K and its magnetic moment anisotropy attains 7000% at a temperature of T = 4.2 K. The Mössbauer spectroscopy data unambiguously indicate the paramagnetic state of iron cations in the temperature range of 4.2–300 K. However, a sharp change in the difference between the quadrupole doublet linewidths at 10 K has been observed, which is consistent with the temperature of magnetic ordering. It has been suggested that the long-range magnetic order is established in the crystal through the formation of the exchange coupling revealed by the electron spin resonance measurements on the oriented single crystals.

Аннотация: The antioxidant properties of selenium nanoparticles coated with arabinogalactan have been studied. The nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and infrared spectroscopy. Arabinogalactan-coated selenium nanoparticles were incubated together with Ehrlich ascitic carcinoma cells and then exposed to microwave radiation. The antioxidant properties of selenium nanoparticles were evaluated using chemiluminescent analysis. The viability of Ehrlich ascitic carcinoma cells under microwave irradiation and incubation with selenium nanoparticles was assessed by flow cytometry. Under conditions of exposure to experimental tumor cells of microwave radiation, the concentration of free radicals in the cells did not change. The effect of arabinogalactan-coated selenium nanoparticles on tumor cells is expressed as an increase in the delay time for the activation of the antioxidant system.

Аннотация: The effect of magnetic nanoparticles coated with arabinogalactan on the viability of Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) cells was studied. The nanoparticles were studied by transmission electron microscopy, Mossbauer spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and ferromagnetic resonance. A correlation between the proportion of dead EAC cells in suspension and the intensity of the EPR signal of dinitrosyl iron complexes was found. This result may be due to the presence of NO molecules.

Аннотация: The magnetic properties of fluorine hexahydrates of transition metals have been studied. It was found that the presence of spin-orbit interaction of the transition metal ion has a significant effect on anisotropy of magnetic properties. Depending on the direction of interaction of the orbital magnetic moment of a transition metal cation with a crystal field easy direction of magnetization changes from the crystallographic b-axis to the c-axis.

Аннотация: Comparative investigations of infrared absorption spectra of ion-molecular crystals of the ammonium-containing oxyfluorides (NH(4))(3)WO(3)F(3) and (NH(4))(3)MoO(3)F(3) have been performed. It has been found that the parameters of the vibrational spectra exhibit anomalies in the ranges of internal vibrations of the MeO(3)F(3) octahedral groups and ammonium ions near the phase transition temperatures. A comparative analysis of the IR spectra allows us to affirm that the studied phase transition in (NH(4))(3)WO(3)F(3) is primarily associated with the ordering of octahedral groups, whereas in (NH(4))(3)MoO(3)F(3), it is mainly due to the ordering of ammonium groups and the distortion of ammonium ions by the crystal environment.

Аннотация: The infrared absorption spectra of the oxyfluoride Rb2KMoO3F3 have been measured in the frequency range corresponding to stretching vibrations of the Mo-O anion octahedron with the purpose of clarifying their role in the phase transition. A semi-empirical calculation of two possible configurations of quasioctahedral MoO3F3 groups has been performed. The results of the investigations have demonstrated that some octahedra in the crystal structure change the local symmetry from C (3v) to C (2v) due to the phase transition (T = 197 K).

Аннотация: Infrared absorption spectra of a Nd0.5Ho0.5Fe3(BO3)4 crystal in the spectral range of 30–1700 cm–1 have been measured at temperatures from 6 to 300 K. The experimental spectra have been analyzed based on the semiempirical calculation of the lattice dynamics and the analysis of correlation diagrams of borate complexes. No changes associated with structural phase transitions have been detected in the temperature range of measurements; the effect of magnetic ordering on the infrared absorption spectra has not been observed.
