Аннотация: Bulk composites Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7+NiTiO3 and Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7+MgTiO3 with insulator volume content 7.5% and 15% modelling a network of Superconductor-Insulator-Superconductor (S-I-S) junctions have been prepared. The ?(T) dependences of composites HTSC+MgTiO3 are described well by the mechanism of Thermally Activated Phase Slippage (TAPS). The anomalous behavior of resistivity ?(T) of HTSC+NiTiO3 composites manifesting as a kink on ?(T) curves at some temperature Tm have been observed. In the temperature range Tm < T < TC the dissipation is Ohmic while below Tm the CVCs are strongly non-linear. This peculiarity is interpreted as arisen owing to Abrikosov vortices flow.

Аннотация: A model of a superconducting fault current limiter on a polycrystalline high-temperature superconductor basis is checked in the dc short circuit regime. Protection of load takes place under the conditions described in this paper. The use of ceramic materials with superconducting-normal metal-superconducting Josephson junction network having an S-type current-voltage characteristic (CVC) is shown to be effective for fault current limiter devices.

Аннотация: The temperature dependences of the critical current of Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 polycrystalline high-temperature superconductors subjected to annealing for different times and those of Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + BaPbO3 composites were measured. The results obtained were analyzed in terms of the Gunsenheimer-Schussler-Kummler theory considering the Andreev reflection of carriers in a "superconductor-normal metal-superconductor" (S-N-S) junction. Good agreement between the experimental and theoretical temperature dependences of the critical current over a wide temperature range for polycrystals with both natural and artificially created boundaries (composites) made it possible to estimate the effective length of grain boundaries in the high-temperature superconductors. It was revealed that the critical current density measured at 4.2 K is an exponential function of the length of grain boundaries in samples of both types.

Аннотация: Composites representing a network of random Josephson junctions and characterized by the compositions 92.5 at. % Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + 7.5 at. % NiTiO3 and 92.5 at. % Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + 7.5 at.% MgTiO3 are synthesized, and their magnetoresistance properties are studied. The temperature dependence of the resistance R(T) measured for the composite that contains the paramagnetic NiTiO3 compound exhibits a characteristic feature below the superconducting transition temperature T-c of the high-T-c superconductor, namely, a region where R is independent of the current j and weakly depends on the magnetic field H. Below a certain temperature T-m, a strong dependence of R on j and H is observed, which is peculiar to a network of Josephson junctions. The dependences R(T, j, H) obtained for the "reference" samples with the nonmagnetic MgTiO3 compound exhibit no such features. The anomalous behavior of the HTSC + NiTiO3 composite is explained by the effect produced by the magnetic moments of Ni atoms in the insulating barriers on the transport current. Аннотация: The existence of space inhomogeneous superconductor insulator state (SISIS) found out earlier in polycrystalline samples of high-Tc system Ba0.6K0.4BiO3 (Tc?30 K) is confirmed on Ba0.6K0.4BiO3 single crystal. At T* (T*<Tc, T*?17 K) the transition from the homogeneous superconducting state into the SISIS occurs. SISIS is characterized by the appearance of two gapes on the Fermi surface: semi- and superconducting, that are modulated in space in antiphase, the electric transport between superconducting regions being carried out due to Josephson tunneling. Thus the whole sample becomes a multiple Josephson system. Nonlinear I-V curves, depended on temperature and magnetic field, that are typical to a Josephson system, are observed on Ba0.6K0.4BiO3 single crystal at temperatures below T*. Besides, a step like peculiarity at the values of voltage of the order of one and two superconducting gaps shows up. These peculiarities are suppressed by magnetic field much earlier then critical current. Perhaps the last phenomenon is the consequence of "coherent" state of several successive Josephson junctions, appeared in the exfoliation state. В© Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Аннотация: A method to determine a value of the effective field in the intergrain medium of a granular superconductor is proposed. The space between superconducting grains is considered to be a Josephson medium where passage of the transport current causes dissipation and the effective field is superposition of external field H and the field induced by magnetic moments of superconducting grains. The method proposed is based on the comparison of hysteresis field dependences of magnetoresistance and magnetization and their relaxation at H=const. By the example of granular YBa2Cu3O7, it is shown that, in the region of weak fields, the effective field in the intergrain medium exceeds by far the external field, i.e., compression of a magnetic flux occurs. Аннотация: The correlation between experimental magnetic field dependences of magnetoresistance and magnetization hysteresis in granular YBa2Cu3O7 is established. Within the proposed approach, magnetoresistance is assumed to be determined by the effective field in the intergrain boundaries the ensemble of which is considered to be a Josephson medium. The effective field in the intergrain medium can be written in the form B (eff)(H)=H-4 pi M(H)x alpha, where alpha is the parameter of averaged demagnetizing factors of grains and the degree of flux compression. A comparison of experimental magnetoresistance R(H) and magnetization M(H) hysteresis dependences obtained at different external magnetic field sweep rates yields the value alpha similar to 10, which is caused by the flux compression between grains. The proposed model describes well most of the features of the magnetoresistance hysteresis in granular high-T (C) superconductors.

Аннотация: The transport properties of the two phases composites based on Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 (YBCO) and Y-3(Al1-xFex)(5)O-12 (X = 0-0... 1.0) have been studied to investigate the effect of magnetic ordering in garnet on superconducting properties of the composites. The composites represent network of Josephson junctions where the non-superconducting ingredient (garnet) acts as barriers separating YBCO grains. It is found that magneto-active ions (Fe) in garnet are responsible for an additional suppression of Josephson coupling in the composites. At some critical concentration of Fe atoms full suppression of super current is observed in a temperature range from T-C of YBCO grains down to the characteristic temperature T,,,. This behavior is attributed to the interaction of super current carriers with spins of Fe atoms located in the barriers. The crossover from S-I-S (S-superconductor, I-insulator) to S-F-S (F-ferrimagnet) junctions is observed in the compdsites Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + Y-3(Al1-xFex)(5)O-12 with x increase. Аннотация: A simplified model for the current-voltage characteristics of weak links is suggested. It is based on an approach considering the multiple Andreev reflection in a metallic Josephson junction. The model allows one to calculate the current-voltage characteristics of superconductor-normal metal-superconductor junctions with different thicknesses of normal layer at different temperatures. A hysteretic peculiarity of the V(I) dependence is described as a result of the negative differential resistance. The current-voltage characteristics of tin microbridges and high- T-c composite YBCO + BaPbO3 were computed.

Аннотация: Spectrum modification and damping of Josephson plasma waves induced by random inhomogeneities of the critical current through the superconductor contact and the averaged Green function of such excitations are analyzed. In the self-consistent approximation that makes it possible to take into account multiple wave scattering on the inhomogeneities, the frequency and damping of averaged waves, as well as position nu (m) and peak width Delta nu of the Fourier transform imaginary part of the averaged Green function, are determined as functions of wavevector k. The evolution of such functions with the variation of the correlation radius and the relative r.m.s. fluctuations of inhomogeneities is studied. The inhomogeneity-induced wave frequency decrease observed in the long wavelength spectral region qualitatively agrees with the nu (m) behavior. It is established that in the case of "long-range" inhomogeneities, the linear dependence of damping on k changes to the inversely proportional one, and damping tends to zero as k - 0, while Delta nu at small k attains its maximal values due to nonuniform broadening. In the presence of "short-range" inhomogeneities, the wave damping and Delta nu are found to be similar functions of k. The results are compared to the numerical calculation data.

Аннотация: Electromagnetic waves in a randomly inhomogeneous Josephson junction have been investigated by the averaged Green's function method for a nonmonotonic decay of the correlations of inhomogeneities. Modifications of the spectrum and the decay of these excitations caused by spatial fluctuations of the critical current of the Josephson junction have been studied. The regions of the values of the frequency, the wave number, and the stochastic parameters of the medium, at which the waves have a negative group velocity, have been determined. Аннотация: The dc Josephson effect in a superconductor/dimeric molecule/superconductor junction has been investigated by means of the nonequilibrium Green’s function method and the Keldysh diagram technique. The application of the atomic representation has allowed to simplify considerably the computation of the supercurrent and occupation numbers and receive the general expressions which take into account all processes of the Andreev reflection in the loopless approach. It is significant that the expressions for the current and occupation numbers are valid for different multilevel structures in the Josephson junction. The sf-exchange interaction between the electron spin and the spins of the dimer leads to the suppression of the critical current due to a new set of Andreev bound states. © 2016, Springer Science+Business Media New York.

Аннотация: The influence of thermomagnetic prehistory on the behavior of a resistive transition R(T) in external magnetic fields of polycrystalline YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7) and Bi(1.8)Pb(0.3)Sr(1.9)Ca(2)Cu(3)O (x) high-temperature supercon-ductors and the Bi(1.8)Pb(0.3)Sr(1.9)Ca(2)Cu(3)O (x) + Ag texture has been investigated. It has been found that, for YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7), the thermomagnetic prehistory exerts a substantial influence on the dissipation in the subsystem of grain boundaries in magnetic fields up to similar to 10(3) Oe, and this effect becomes insignificant in fields higher than similar to 10(4) Oe. This behavior has been explained by the influence of magnetic moments of high-temperature superconductor grains on the effective magnetic field in the intergranular medium. For bismuth high-temperature superconductors, no influence of thermomagnetic prehistory on the resistive transition has been observed; however, this effect manifests itself in current-voltage characteristics at high transport current densities. There is also a radical difference in the behavior of isotherms of the magnetoresistance R(H) for the yttrium and bismuth systems. For YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7), there is a clear separation between the dissipation regimes in the intergranular medium and in grains, which manifests itself even at low transport current densities as a change of sign in the curvature of the dependence R(H). For a texture based on the bismuth high-temperature superconductor, this feature has been observed only at high current densities (comparable to the critical current density at H = 0). This difference in the behavior of magnetoresistive properties of the classical high-temperature superconductor systems under investigation has been explained by relatively low irreversibility fields of the bismuth high-temperature superconductors. In these materials, simultaneous processes of dissipation can occur in an external magnetic field both in the subsystem of grain boundaries between crystallites and in the crystallites themselves.

Аннотация: The hysteretic behavior of critical current j(C)(H) and magneto-resistance R(H) of composites Y-Ba-Cu-O + CuO have been studied and presented. The composites represent the network of tunnel-type Josephson junctions where copper oxide acts as a material forming barriers between superconducting (YBCO) crystallites. The characteristic features of R(H) and j(C)(H) dependences are discussed in the frames of the conception of "two level superconducting system" (the Josephson media and HTSC crystallites) which is realized in the composites under study.
