Аннотация: Phosphor materials with ultra‐high color purity are highly desired in backlit display and WLEDs. How to achieve high‐purity three‐primary emission in rare earth ions activated inorganic phosphors has become a hot topic. Herein, we reported ultra‐narrow band and highly efficient blue‐violet‐emitting Eu2+‐doped Ba2B5O9X (fwhm = 31 nm) and NaBa4(AlB4O9)2X3 (X = Cl, Br) (fwhm = 43 nm) phosphors with peak positions around 424‐437 nm. Especially, the color purity of Ba2B5O9Cl:Eu sample even exceeded 97%, its internal quantum efficiency could achieve 87%. The EXANES analysis revealed that the Eu mainly existed in the form of +2. According to the Rietveld structural refinement, extraordinarily narrow band emission should be attributed to the highly symmetric lattice structures with the flower‐like polyhedrons in the studied (alumino)borate matrix. Significantly, the color gamut of as‐prepared blue phosphor combined with the standard green and red phosphors was almost close to that of Rec. 2020 display standard. In addition, cation substitution strategy in NaBa4(AlxB5‐xO9)2Cl3 (x = 0‐4) and NaBa4(GayB5‐yO9)2Cl3 (y = 0‐3) samples successfully achieved spectra adjustment, and the underlying mechanism was proposed. All these results demonstrate that the as‐prepared phosphors could be superior blue‐emitting candidates for backlit display as well as WLEDs.

Аннотация: Temperature dependences of specific heat Cp(T) and coefficient of thermal expansion α(T) for Na0.95Li0.05NbO3 sodium-lithium niobate ceramic samples are investigated in the temperature range of 100–800 K. The Cp(T) and α(T) anomalies at T3 = 310 ± 3 K, T2 = 630 ± 8 K, and T1 = 710 ± 10 K are observed, which correspond to the sequence of phase transitions N ↔ Q ↔ S(R) ↔ T2(S). The effect of heat treatment of the samples on the sequence of structural distortions was established. It is demonstrated that annealing of the samples at 603 K leads to splitting of the anomaly corresponding to the phase transition Q → R/S in two anomalies. After sample heating to 800 K, the only anomaly is observed in both the Cp(T) and α(T) dependence. Possible mechanisms of the observed phenomena are discussed.

Аннотация: The thermal expansion properties of the ceramic compositions Ba1-yLayTi1-y/4O3 (y = 0.0, 0.026, 0.036, 0.054) and Ba1-yBi2y/3Ti1-xZrxO3 (y = 0.10; x = 0.0, 0.04, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15) were determined in the temperature range 120-700 K. We report the temperature- dependent measurements of the strain, thermal expansion coefficient and the magnitude of root mean square polarization. The results obtained are discussed together with the data on the structure and dielectric properties.

Аннотация: Present work focuses on detailed temperature-dependent X-ray diffraction, Raman scattering, domain configuration, and photoluminescence (PL) studies in the (Ba0·85Ca0.15) (Zr0·10Ti0.90)O3 (BCZT) ceramics. The comprehensive Raman spectroscopy analysis in the present work not only validates the presence of the intermediate orthorhombic phase in BCZT, but also provides evidence of another transition: rhombohedral R3c phase to R3m at low temperature. Temperature behaviour of the lowest frequency transverse optical mode (soft E (TO) phonon) and hard modes was studied. Temperature dependence of peak positions, intensities, and linewidths of Raman phonon modes signalled the presence of phase transitions near −50 ± 5 °C, 0±5 °C, 35±5 °C and 110 ± 10 °C. Evolution of domain morphology occurring at phase transitions above room temperature was studied by piezoresponse force microscopy technique. Analysis of PL spectra revealed disorder/heterogeneity in the sample and indicated the existence of self-trapped excitons. PL spectra are composed of four distinct colour components (~2.55eV:blue, ~2.32eV:green, ~2.08eV:orange and ~1.78eV:red).

Аннотация: This paper presents the results of silicon oxide nanoparticles-incorporated drilling fluid filtration through a porous medium with different permeability. A water-based clay suspension was used as a basic model for creating investigated fluid samples. AlN (aluminium nitride) particles were used as a dispersed phase. The concentration of microparticles varied from 0.5 to 4.00 wt%, while the microparticles size varied from 1 to 10 ?m. The concentration of SiO2 nanoparticles was changed within the range of 0.25 and 4.00 wt%, while the nanoparticles size varied from 5 to 100 nm. It was shown that filtration of drilling fluids with nanoparticles inclusions depends on their concentration, size and material, the concentration and size of microparticles and the pore sizes of ceramic filters. The addition of the nanoparticles leads to a significant reduction in filtration of a microsuspension and affects the structure and thickness of a cake formed on the surface of a filter. The main novelty of this work lies in the fact that the effect of the addition of nanoparticles on filtration losses depends on the ratio between nano and microparticles. It was shown that the positive effect of nanoparticle additives on filtration losses is determined not only by the properties of nanoparticles (size and concentration), but also by the properties of microparticles contained in the drilling fluid, as well as the characteristics of the rock (pore size). © 2019 Elsevier B.V.

Аннотация: Garnet-type compound Ca3Ga2Ge3O12 and Cr3+-doped or Cr3+/Bi3+ codped Ca3Ga2Ge3O12 phosphors were prepared by a solid-state reaction. The crystal structure of Ca3Ga2Ge3O12 host was studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and further determined by the Rietveld refinement. Near-infrared (NIR) photoluminescence (PL) and long-lasting phosphorescence (LLP) emission can be observed from the Cr3+-doped Ca3Ga2Ge3O12 sample, and the enhanced NIR PL emission intensity and LLP decay time can be realized in Cr3+/Bi3+ codped samples. The optimum concentration of Cr3+ in Ca3Ga2Ge3O12 phosphor was about 6 mol%, and optimum Bi3+ concentration induced the energy-transfer (ET) process between Bi3+ and Cr3+ ions was about 30 mol%. Under different excitation wavelength from 280 to 453 nm, all the samples exhibit a broadband emission peaking at 739 nm and the intensity of NIR emission increases owing to the ET behavior from Bi3+ to Cr3+ ions. The critical ET distance has been calculated by the concentration-quenching method. The thermally stable luminescence properties were also studied and the introduction of Bi3+ can also improve the thermal stability of the NIR emission.

Аннотация: The phase formation sequence was studied in the preparation of solid solutions of RE2O2S: Ln’ (RE = La, Y; Ln’ = Ce, Eu, Dy, Er) by the reduction of the match co-precipitated sulfates, followed by sulfidization of the reduction products. For uniform distribution of cations in the matrix, a method of chemical homogenization was used, consisting in the preparation of an aqueous solution containing all the necessary cations and their subsequent precipitation in the form of sulfates. The use of sulfates as precursors facilitates the process of obtaining solid solutions of oxysulfides, since sulfates already contain SO4 2--ions. The phase and morphological certification of the obtained solid solutions was carried out. The study of steady state luminescent properties demonstrated characteristic bands which are assigned to 4f-4f and 5d-4f transition. The obtained results showed the possibility of applying the method to synthesize optical ceramics based on solid solutionsRE2O2S: Ln (RE = La, Y; Ln = Ce, Eu, Dy, Er).

Аннотация: The magnetoresistive properties of bulk YBCO + CuO and YBCO + BaPb0.75Sn0.25O3 composites for different orientations of external magnetic field H and macroscopic transport current j have been measured. These composites exhibit large magnetoresistance in weak magnetic fields ( 100 Oe), which makes them promising candidates for practical application in magnetic field sensor devices. Аннотация: The results of electronic structure calculations of the CuO2 layer, performed by the generalized tight-binding method, are presented. The strong electron correlations on both the Cu and O ions are included explicitly. The resulting quasiparticle band structure contains an insulator gap for undoped compounds like La2CuO4. The valence band consists of a large number of narrow Hubbard quasiparticle bands. The dispersion law of quasiparticles at the top of the valence band has a minimum at the GAMMA-point, indicating the existence of the multivalley Fermi surface in the doped La2-xSrxCuO4. The origin of the Fermi liquid behavior in the narrow quasiparticle bands is discussed.

Аннотация: SrIn2O4, which shows lower phonon energy than CaIn2O4, is not only a good photocatalyst but also can be an excellent up-conversion (UC) host to exhibits UC luminescence. In this work, Yb3+ and/or Er3+ doped SrIn2O4 phosphors were synthesized, and their UC luminescence properties were studied and compared with those in the CaIn2O4 host. The structure of SrIn2O4: 0.01Er3+ and SrIn2O4: 0.1Yb3+/0.01Er3+ samples were refined by the Rietveld method and found to that SrIn2O4: 0.1Yb3+/0.01Er3+ showed increasing unit cell parameters and cell volume, indicating In3+ sites were substituted successfully by Yb3+ and/or Er3+ ions. From the UC luminescence spectra and diffuse reflection spectra, Er3+-doped SrIn2O4 showed very weak luminescence due to ground state absorption of Er3+; Yb3+/Er3+ codoped SrIn2O4 presented strong green (550 nm) and red (663 nm) UC emissions which were assigned to energy transfer from Yb3+ transition 2F7/2→2F5/2 to the Er3+ transition 4S3/2 → 4I15/2 and 4F9/2 → 4I15/2. Comparing with CaIn2O4, Yb3+/Er3+ codoped SrIn2O4 showed obvious advantages with higher UC luminescent intensity. The pumping powers study showed that UC emissions in Yb3+/Er3+ codoped SrIn2O4 were attributed to energy transfer of Yb3+→Er3+ with a two-photon process. The possible UC luminescent mechanism of Yb3+/Er3+-doped SrIn2O4 was discussed.

Аннотация: A new method of preparation of bulk textured Bi2223 ceramics and Bi2223 + Ag composites, based on room temperature pressing of foamed precursor (Bi2223, Bi2223 + Ag) in a liquid medium, is proposed. SEM and XRD data prove a high degree of texture of the bulk samples obtained. Magnetic measurements performed in directions H parallel to c-axis and H parallel to a-b-planes of Bi2223 crystallites demonstrates anisotropy of magnetization confirming the texture of the ceramics. The materials obtained possess large diamagnetic response in the direction H parallel to a-b-planes of Bi2223 crystallites at both 77.4 and 4.2 K.

Аннотация: A case of phosphor is reported where the cooling rate parameter significantly influences the luminescence property. By quenching the sample after the higherature solid-state reaction at 1250°C, we successfully prepared the Eu2+-doped α form Ca3(PO4)2 (α-TCP:Eu2+) as a new kind of bright cyan-emitting phosphor. The unusual emission color variation (from cyan to blue) depends on the cooling rate after sintering and Eu2+ doping level as it was observed in the TCP-based phosphors. By the Rietveld analysis, it is revealed that the cyan- and blue-emitting phosphors are two different TCP forms crystallizing in the monoclinic (space group P21/a, α-TCP) and the rhombohedral structure (space group R3c, β-TCP), respectively. Upon 365 nm UV light excitation, α-TCP:Eu2+ exhibits an asymmetric broad-band cyan emission peaking at 480 nm, while β-TCP:Eu2+ displays a relatively narrow-band blue emission peaking at 416 nm. The Eu2+-doping in Ca3(PO4)2 shifts the upper temperature limit of the stable structural range of β form from 1125°C to ≥1250°C. Moreover, the crystal structures of α/β-TCP:Eu2+ were compared in the aspects of compactness and cation site sets. The emission thermal stability of α/β-TCP:Eu2+ was comparatively characterized and the difference was related to the specific host structural features. © 2015 The American Ceramic Society.

Аннотация: By the example of the Dy0.2Sr0.8CoO3-δ compound undergoing an order–disorder phase transition with increasing temperature, we demonstrate a significant dependence of the kinetic properties on the morphology of the internal spatially inhomogeneous structure, which forms in the sample depending on the rate of its transition from the high-temperature disordered cubic phase to the ground tetragonal ordered phase upon cooling. The results of transmission electron microscopy visualization of the spatially inhomogeneous state in the Dy0.2Sr0.8CoO3-δ ceramic samples are presented and compared with the X-ray diffraction data.

Аннотация: CaGd2(MoO4)4:Er3+/Yb3+ phosphors with the doping concentrations of Er3+ and Yb3+ (x = Er3+ + Yb3+, Er3+ = 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, and Yb3+ = 0.2, 0.45) have been successfully synthesized by the microwave sol–gel method, and the crystal structure refinement and upconversion photoluminescence properties have been investigated. The synthesized particles, being formed after heat-treatment at 900°C for 16 h, showed a well-crystallized morphology. Under the excitation at 980 nm, CaGd2(MoO4)4:Er3+/Yb3+ particles exhibited strong 525 and 550-nm emission bands in the green region and a weak 655-nm emission band in the red region. The Raman spectrum of undoped CaGd2(MoO4)4 revealed about 15 narrow lines. The strongest band observed at 903 cm−1 was assigned to the ν1 symmetric stretching vibration of MoO4 tetrahedrons. The spectra of the samples doped with Er and Yb obtained under 514.5 nm excitation were dominated by Er3+ luminescence preventing the recording Raman spectra of these samples. Concentration quenching of the erbium luminescence at 2H11/2→4I15/2 and 4S3/2→4I15/2 transitions in the CaGd2(MoO4)4:Er3+/Yb3+ crystal structure was established to be approximately at the 10 at.% doping level.

Аннотация: We have made investigations of the phase formation and microstructure on the ceramics obtained from a starting nanopowder mixture with the weight ratio ZnO : TiO2 = 4 : 1. Ceramic is obtained at different sintering temperatures, namely, 948, 1223 and 1473 К. Using the characterization methods of electron microscopy, energy dispersive microanalysis and X-ray diffraction phase analysis it has been shown that the ceramics structure is consisted of two dispersed phases of Zn2TiO4 and ZnO with the grain sizes being in range 0,5-1 μm. It has been found also that, at ceramic`s sintering temperature of 1223 К, the solid phase interactions are completed with the structure ZnO : Zn2TiO4 ≈ 1 : 1,5 phase ratio.

Аннотация: We have studied the magnetoresistive effect in bulk 1-2-3 YBCO + CuO and 1-2-3 YBCO + BaPb1-xSnxO3 composites prepared using the fast backing technique. We have found that the composites exhibit large magnetoresistance in low magnetic fields ( 100 Oe) for a broad temperature range. We have studied the experimental dependences of resistivity versus magnetic field at various transport current densities. The high-T-C superconductor (HTSC) based composites exhibit a much higher sensitivity to weak magnetic fields at liquid nitrogen temperature, compared to that for pure HTSC ceramics. This effect is attractive for practical applications and the composite materials can be used as active elements in magnetic field sensor devices.
