Аннотация: The design of a 10th-order waveguide bandpass filter with an additional inductive cross-coupling between non-adjacent resonators has been proposed and studied. An inductive coupling is formed by a U-shaped conductor structure with grounded ends that is formed in the filter cover. This method of cross-coupling organization ensures not only the temperature stability of the characteristics, but also the manufacturability of the structure. The high selectivity of the device is achieved by both the attenuation poles located near the passband, as well as the level of suppression in the stopbands, exceeding 120 dB. The passband loss of the fabricated filter is ~ 0.8 dB at its central frequency f0=18.2 GHz and relative bandwidth Δf/f0=1.5%. The small dimensions (135 x 30 x 10 mm) and the weight of about 200 g of the device, with simultaneously high electrical characteristics show the promise of its use, for example, in on-board and ground-based space communication systems.

Аннотация: Calculations of the thermodynamic quantities, and the spectra of spinons, triplet excitations, and two-particle spin-singlet (Delta S-z = 0, +/- 1) excitations for a weakly coupled antiferromagnetic S = 1/2 spin chain are made using a mean-field approximation for the interchain couplings (J(2)) by the quantum Monte Carlo method. The mass gaps in these excitation spectra are estimated as functions of the interchain coupling. The critical held H-c, and the temperatures at which the spinon and singlet gaps close (T-1 and T-2, respectively) are obtained. Some peculiarities of the staggered magnetization, the specific heat, and the spin-spin correlation function are found at T-1 = 0.9J(2), T-2 = 1.5J(2), H-c = 3.8J(2), as determined by linear function fitting for J(2)/J(1) < 0.15 The intrachain and interchain couplings, and the staggered magnetization for KCuF3, Sr2CuO3, and Ca2CuO3 are estimated, and mass gaps are predicted to exist in the spectra of the spinons and the singlet two-particle excitations.

Аннотация: The nonlinear relation between the mean effective polarizability (gamma) over bar of molecules and the local-field anisotropy in uniaxial liquid crystals is demonstrated. Stringent constraints on (gamma) over bar from below, indicative of the dependence of on the liquid-crystal state and the change of the "(gamma) over bar = const" paradigm, are established. The theoretical results are confirmed by experiments with nematic liquid crystals having high and low birefringences.

Аннотация: We derive the design formulas for novel multilayer bandpass filters in which every dielectric layer (resonator) is separated from the adjacent layer or external medium by a grating of strip conductors. Every grating acts as a semireflecting mirror. Such novel filters have wide stop bands compared to conventional filters with multilayer dielectric mirrors between resonators at the same passband width. The parameters of the lowpass, lumped-element prototype filter, as well as the theory of resonator-coupling coefficients, are considered in our approach. The computed frequency response of the fifth-order Chebyshev filter that was synthesized using the proposed formulas is also presented.

Аннотация: We study the transmission through different small systems as a function of the coupling strength v to the two attached leads. The leads are identical with only one propagating mode xi(E)(C) in each of them. In addition to the conductance G, we calculate the phase rigidity rho of the scattering wave function Psi(E)(C) in the interior of the system. Most interesting results are obtained in the regime of strongly overlapping resonance states where the crossover from staying to traveling modes takes place. The crossover is characterized by collective effects. Here, the conductance is plateaulike enhanced in some energy regions of finite length while corridors with zero transmission (total reflection) appear in other energy regions. This transmission picture depends only weakly on the spectrum of the closed system. It is caused by the alignment of some resonance states of the system with the propagating modes xi(E)(C) in the leads. The alignment of resonance states takes place stepwise by resonance trapping, i.e., it is accompanied by the decoupling of other resonance states from the continuum of propagating modes. This process is quantitatively described by the phase rigidity rho of the scattering wave function. Averaged over energy in the considered energy window, G is correlated with 1-rho . In the regime of strong coupling, only two short-lived resonance states survive each aligned with one of the channel wave functions xi(E)(C). They may be identified with traveling modes through the system. The remaining M-2 trapped narrow resonance states are well separated from one another.

Аннотация: Ferrospheres with the Fe2O3 content in the range from 76 to 97 wt% were applied as catalysts for the oxidative coupling of methane (OCM). To identify their phase composition and distribution of iron sites, the ferrospheres were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction and Mossbauer spectroscopy before and after the OCM reaction. Magnetite-based ferrite spinel, hematite and aluminosilicate glasses were established to be the main phases. The ferrospinel of all ferrospheres partially oxidized to hematite after the OCM reaction. It was established that the yield of C-2-hydrocarbons sharply increased at the ferrospheres with Fe2O3 content higher than 89 wt% The spinel phase of these ferrospheres includes Fevv3+(B) sites with a Ca2+ tetrahedral cation and an octahedral cation vacancy among the nearest neighbors. A linear correlation between the yield of C-2-hydrocarbons (ethane and ethylene) and the content of such sites was established, thus indicating that their electrophilic oxygen species participate in selective CH4 conversion to C2H6. Аннотация: The reactions between terminal ethynylpyridines, (trimethylsilyl)ethynylpyridines and cyclopentadienyliron dicarbonyl iodide were studied under Pd/Cu-catalyzed conditions to develop a synthetic approach to the σ-alkynyl iron complexes Cp(CO)2Fe–C≡C–R (R = ortho-, meta-, para-pyridyl). Depending on the catalyst and reagents used, the yields of the desired σ-pyridylethynyl complexes varied from 40 to 95%. In some cases the reactions with ortho-ethynylpyridine gave as byproduct the unexpected binuclear FePd μ-pyridylvinylidene complex [Cp(CO)Fe{μ2-η1(Cα):η1(Cα)-κ1(N)-Cα=Cβ(H)(o-C5H4N)}(μ-CO)PdI]. The conditions, catalysts, and reagents that provide the highest yields of the desired σ-pyridylethynyl iron compounds were determined. The methods developed allowed the synthesis of the corresponding σ-4-benzothiadiazolylethynyl complex Cp(CO)2Fe–C≡C–(4-C6H3N2S) as well. Eventually, synthetic approaches to σ-alkynyl iron complexes of the type Cp(CO)2Fe–C≡C–R (R = ortho-, meta-, para-pyridyl, 4-benzothiadiazol-2,1,3-yl) based on the Pd/Cu-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions were elaborated.
