Аннотация: The periodical Anderson model (PAM) is microscopically derived. It is shown that the PAM is a mean field theory for the electric potential. The mixing interaction (MI) consists of single- and two- particle contributions. The first is proportional to the overlap integral of localized and band wave functions and vanishes when band energies are on the Fermi surface. It leads to the absence of heavy-fermion effects in the theories based on the PAM with only this mixing term. Using the orthogonal basis this term vanishes only at zero temperature. Applicability of the Luttinger theorem to systems with strongly-correlated electrons (SSCE) is discussed. The phonon dynamic matrix and electron-phonon interaction (EPI) for SSCE are microscopically derived.

Аннотация: Ceramic samples of the system Tl-Pb-Sr-Ca-Ba-Cu-O-F have been prepared by modification of standard Tl-based ceramics by BaF2. A cubic structure with parameter a = 6.04 A is found by powder X-ray analysis. Both electric and magnetic data reveal superconductivity with T(ci) = 117 K. Electron conductivity is found at T = 300 K.

Аннотация: Multilayered structures of 10 Fe layers (25 angstrom each) and 9 layers of Cu (50 angstrom) have been obtained by MBE technique using a 3-chambers MBE installation ''Angara''. For comparison Fe film with the thickness d = 250 angstrom have been prepared. The chemical composition and structure of the films were controlled by X-ray fluorescent analysis, Auger spectroscopy and electron microscopy measurements. Field dependencies of the magnetooptical Faraday effect were measured at different geometries. Spectral dependence of the Faraday effect revealed a maximum at 700 rum wavelength for this multilayered structure.

Аннотация: The recent results of the studies of magnetic materials using synchrotron irradiation are reviewed. The influence of magnetic effects on X-ray scattering is studied for linearly and circularly polarized photons, and effects of magnetic circular dichroism on the spectra of X-ray absorption and photoelectron emission are discussed. It is shown that X-ray magnetooptics techniques provide fine details of crystal and magnetic structures and also make it possible to separate the spin and orbital contributions to the total moment; to obtain element- and position-sensitive information on the magnetic properties of the material; to visualize domains and domain walls; and to probe magnetization reversal dynamics. A comparison of magnetic neutron and X-ray methods is given.

Аннотация: We show that incorporation of strong electron correlations into the Kohn-Sham scheme of band structure calculations leads to a modification of the standard model of the lanthanides and that this procedure removes the existing discrepancy between theory and experiment concerning the ground state properties. Within the picture suggested, part of the upper Hubbard f-band is occupied due to conduction band-f-mixing interaction (that is renormalized due to correlations) and this contributes to the cohesive energy of the crystal. The lower Hubbard band has zero width and describes fermionic excitations in the shell of localized f-s. Fully self-consistent calculations (with respect to both charge density and many-electron population numbers of the f-shell) of the equilibrium volume V-0 and the bulk modulus of selected lanthanides have been performed and a good agreement with experiment is obtained. Аннотация: The crystal structure of the thin films of metastable Co13Cu87 alloy prepared by magnetron sputtering was investigated by transmission electron microscope. As-deposited films have a nanocrystal structure with an fcc lattice. Аннотация: A new three-dimensional scheme for rectifying a gradient force is proposed and analyzed. The scheme is based on the use of a strong, partially coherent optical field involving a component with a fluctuating phase. It is shown that the rectification of a gradient force acting on atoms with a nondegenerate ground state is a second-order effect with respect to field strength in this scheme, whereas an analogous effect is third-order in coherent bichromatic fields. Conditions for three-dimensional confinement of atoms are obtained by using the velocity dependence of the rectified radiative force. For a large class of atoms, such as even-even isotopes of ytterbium and alkaline-earth elements, these conditions can be implemented at a relatively high effective temperature (of the particle ensemble) of about 10 K. This finding can be used to widen substantially the range of energies of atoms amenable to effective three-dimensional optical manipulation. (C) 2004 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".

Аннотация: We propose a new method for accelerating the process of mechanical alloying in the Co-Cu system possessing positive enthalpy of mixing and exhibiting no mutual solubility of components under equilibrium conditions. For this purpose, highly disperse powders of composite particles representing a Co-P amorphous alloy core covered with a nanocrystalline copper shell were prepared by chemical deposition. These composite powders were mechanically alloyed by processing in a ball mill. Investigation of the atomic structure and magnetic properties of the composite powders upon milling showed that the formation of supersaturated Co-Cu solid solutions under such conditions requires a much shorter milling time as compared to that for the conventional mechanical alloying processes. Аннотация: In this paper, we proposed ab initio calculation of hopping parameters for La2CuO4. The Wannier function projection procedure of obtaining a small Hamiltonian in real space for different sets of bands of inter est was used. The importance of taking into account Cu and apical Oa pz orbitals is shown. The param eters obtained are used to calculate the band structure of undoped La2CuO4 in the framework of the multiband p–d model in the regime of strong electron correlations.

Аннотация: In this work, the crystal structure and hysteretic magnetic properties of equiatomic single-crystal CoPt/MgO films prepared by magnetron sputtering and their modifications after heat treatment are studied. A perpendicular magnetic anisotropy is obtained in annealed films in a film thickness range of 2 d≤16 nm. The correlation between the magnitude of magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant of CoPt films and the order parameter of the L10 superstructure of these alloys is ascertained. The influence of the single-crystal MgO substrate on the structure and magnetic properties of the films of equiatomic CoPt alloys is also investigated.
