Аннотация:
The transport properties of two-phase composites consisting of a high-temperature
superconductor
and a nonsuperconducting component with magnetic ordering are analyzed. These composites are considered as a network of "
superconductor
-magnetoactive insulator-
superconductor
" weak links of the Josephson type. Substituted garnets Y-3(Al1 - x Fe (x) )(5)O-12 (x = 0, ..., 1.0) are used as a magnetoactive component. The composites under investigation contain 92.5 vol % Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 (the high-temperature
superconductor
) and 7.5 vol % Y-3(Al1 - x Fe (x) )(5)O-12 (x = 0, ..., 1.0). It is shown that an increase in the iron content in the Y-3(Al1 - x Fe (x) )(5)O-12 garnet leads to a reduction of the Josephson coupling strength: the temperature range in which the electrical resistance of the composites is equal to zero is reduced, and the critical current density at a temperature of 4.2 K decreases exponentially. For composites in which the iron content in the Y-3(Al1 - x Fe (x) )(5)O-12 garnet is higher than 0.1, the temperature dependence of the electrical resistance R(T) at temperatures below the transition point T-C of high-temperature
superconductor
crystallites has a portion in the range T-m -T-C where the resistance R(T) is independent of the transport current and the magnetic field strength. Below the temperature T-m , the dependences of the electrical resistance R(T) of the composites are nonlinear functions of the current and involve a considerable contribution from magnetoresistance. This behavior is characteristic of a network of Josephson junctions. The temperature T-m decreases with an increase in the iron content in the Y-3(Al1 - x Fe (x) )(5)O-12 garnet. The appearance of the above feature in the temperature dependences of the electrical resistance R(T) is interpreted as complete suppression of the Josephson coupling in the temperature range above T (m) due to the interaction of supercurrent carrier pairs with magnetic moments of iron atoms in the dielectric barriers separating high-temperature
superconductor
grains.

Аннотация:
It is shown that in semimetallic, low-temperature antiferromagnetic materials located in a quantizing magnetic field, the part of the band magnetization M similar to which oscillates in H can have a nonmonotonic temperature dependence. This non-Fermi liquid behavior will show up experimentally in the form of quantum temperature fluctuations of the magnetization when the decrease with rising temperature is oscillatory, rather than the usual monotonic decrease. It is shown that the magnetization from an individual spin electron (or hole) subband has the form of weakly damped periodic oscillations as a function of T-2. This result makes it possible to develop an efficient method for studying the electronic structure of antiferromagnetic semimetals based on an examination of the quantum temperature fluctuations. Calculations show that quantum temperature fluctuations can be observed, for example, in the cerium monopnictides CeP and CeAs, which are strongly correlated, antiferromagnetic, compensated semimetals with low Neel temperatures. Аннотация:
A sequence of magnetocaloric anomalies occurring with the change in a magnetic field H is predicted for an open nanowire with the Rashba spin–orbit coupling and the induced superconducting pairing potential. The nature of such anomalies is due to the cascade of quantum transitions related to the successive changes in the fermion parity of the nanowire ground state with the growth of the magnetic field. It is shown that the critical Hc values fall within the parameter range corresponding to the nontrivial values of the Z2 topological invariant of the corresponding 1D band Hamiltonian characteristic of the D symmetry class. It is demonstrated that such features in the behavior of the open nanowire are retained even in the presence of Coulomb interactions.

have been prepared and their transport properties (temperature dependences of resistivity rho and critical current density j(c), current-voltage characteristics) have been studied. Below the superconducting transition temperature T-m the rho(T) dependences exhibit a kink at some temperature T-m. The crossover of current-voltage characteristics from ohmic-like behavior in range T-m/T-c to non-linear one below T-m is observed. Аннотация:
We have studied the magnetoresistive effect in bulk 1-2-3 YBCO + CuO and 1-2-3 YBCO + BaPb1-xSnxO3 composites prepared using the fast backing technique. We have found that the composites exhibit large magnetoresistance in low magnetic fields (< 100 Oe) for a broad temperature range. We have studied the experimental dependences of resistivity versus magnetic field at various transport current densities. The high-T-C superconductor (HTSC) based composites exhibit a much higher sensitivity to weak magnetic fields at liquid nitrogen temperature, compared to that for pure HTSC ceramics. This effect is attractive for practical applications and the composite materials can be used as active elements in magnetic field sensor devices.

We have studied the low-temperature magnetoresistance of Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7-CuO composites obtained by fast sintering technique and established a relation between the probing to critical current density ratio j/j(c) and the shape of the magnetoresistance curve rho(H). For j/j(c) 1, the electric resistance arises at a threshold value of the magnetic field strength H-c. For j/j(c) greater than or equal to 1, a linear variation of rho(H) at 77 K in the range from 0 to 14 Oe can be provided by selecting the CuO content (in the 15-30 vol % interval) and the j value (in the 0.003-0.2 A/cm(2) range). In the latter case, the slope drho/dH (i.e., the sensitivity of the electric resistivity with respect to the magnetic field) is 1-20 mOmega cm/Oe and the relative field-induced increase in the resistivity rho(0)

(SNS) Josephson junctions with paramagnetic impurities (Fe) in the N layers have been prepared. The transport properties of the composites have been studied. An exponential decay of the critical current with increasing Fe content in the non-superconducting ingredient of the composite has been observed. Such a behaviour is accounted for in terms of the de Gennes proximity effect theory.
