Аннотация: A concept of a family of unique backward-wave photonic devices, such as frequency up and down converting nonlinear-optical mirrors, sensors, modulators, filters and amplifiers is proposed. Novel materials are considered, which support coexistence of ordinary and backward waves and thus enable enhanced nonlinear-optical frequency-conversion processes. Аннотация: We show that two nonlinear resonant cavities aligned between two parallel waveguides can support self-induced bound states in the continuum (BSCs). These BSCs are symmetrical relative to an inversion of the waveguides and to inversion of the transport axis. Due to this BSCs can drop an incident wave from one waveguide to another with very high efficiency. We show also that the frequency of the efficient channel dropping can be tuned by injecting power. All these results are in good agreement with numerical solutions of the Maxwell equations in a two-dimensional photonic crystal of GaAs rods holding two parallel waveguides and two defects made of a Kerr medium. Аннотация: Изучена тонкая структура f-f спектров кристалла Nd0.5Gd0.5Fe3(BO3)4 в функции от температуры в области магнитного упорядочения кристалла. Обнаружено, что локальное магнитное упорядочение в возбуждённом состоянии отличается от магнитного упорядочения в основном состоянии.

Аннотация: Electromagnetic waves in a randomly inhomogeneous Josephson junction have been investigated by the averaged Green's function method for a nonmonotonic decay of the correlations of inhomogeneities. Modifications of the spectrum and the decay of these excitations caused by spatial fluctuations of the critical current of the Josephson junction have been studied. The regions of the values of the frequency, the wave number, and the stochastic parameters of the medium, at which the waves have a negative group velocity, have been determined. Аннотация: Методом усредненных функций Грина исследованы электромагнитные волны в случайно-неоднородном джозефсоновском переходе при немонотонном спаде корреляций неоднородностей. Изучены модификация спектра и затухание этих возбуждений, обусловленные пространственными флуктуациями критического тока джозефсоновского перехода. Определены области значений частоты, волнового числа и стохастических параметров среды, при которых волны имеют отрицательную групповую скорость.

Аннотация: Dynamic susceptibilities (Green's function) in a system of two wave fields of different physical nature connected by the zero-mean random coupling parameter are studied. Magnetoelastic waves in zero-mean magnetostrictive media are considered. It is shown that the Green's functions of the spin G? m(?) and elastic G? u(?) waves at the intersection of the initial dispersion laws have the form of broad single-mode peaks with the fine structure on the tops of these peaks: the narrow resonance on the top of G? m(?) and the narrow antiresonance on the top of G? u(?) For the longwave inhomogeneities the widths of the broad peaks and narrow peaks are determined by the rootmean- square fluctuation and the correlation wave number, respectively.
