Аннотация: This paper presents a new type of magnetically tunable phase shifter. The shifter has the structure of microstrip bandpass filter on a substrate containing magnetic material whose magnetic permeability is controlled by magnetic field due to ferromagnetic resonance. The phase shifter's operation is based on the fact that phase shift in a bandpass filter changes with tuning of its central frequency. Two types of devices were designed and fabricated for the UHF band. One of them has a five-layer NiFe film as an active medium and demonstrates a figure of merit of 40°/dB achieved already at 20 Oe of the controlling magnetic field in 10% of the relative operational bandwidth. The second device with YIG ferrite as an active medium gave 360° tunable phase shift in 5% operational bandwidth that corresponds to the figure of merit of 150°/dB (3.1°/dB·Oe).

Аннотация: The singularities of the time autocorrelation functions (ACFs) for a heteronuclear spin system of a crystal are investigated. Exact expressions are obtained for ten moments of the spectra of ACFs in the approximation of a self-consistent fluctuating field (SCFF) with arbitrary axial symmetry. These expressions are applied to determine the coordinate of the lowest singular point of these functions on the imaginary-time axis for a spin system with a dipole-dipole interaction (DDI). The leading corrections to this coordinate due to the correlation of local fields in real crystals are calculated. These corrections are determined by lattice sums with triangles of four bonds and pairs of four bonds. Numerical values of the coordinate are obtained for a LiF crystal in a magnetic field directed along three crystallographic axes. An increase in the coordinate of the singular point, which follows from the theory and leads to a faster falloff of the wings of the ACF spectra, qualitatively agrees with experiment. © 2005 Pleiades Publishing, Inc.

RESONANCE
   LINE

Аннотация: The dynamics of the crystal nucleus spin system in constant and continuous strong radiofrequency magnetic fields is studied. The variation of the relaxation properties of the magnetization perpendicular to the effective field is studied with changing the field orientation in the rotating frame of coordinates and with changing the relation in the mean hamiltonian of two- and three-spin dipole-dipole couplings. The third and fourth moments of the NMR spectrum in the rotating frame of coordinates and the free precession fall are calculated by means of the memory function. The connection between the three-spin coupling and the features of such falls observed in the experiments under magic angle and bias from it is explained.

Аннотация: Experiments show that the signal representing the decay of the free precession of nuclear spins of F-19 in a CaF2 crystal decreases in a monotonic fashion, without oscillations, in a rotating coordinate system under magic-angle conditions. The decrease is thus fundamentally different from that in the laboratory coordinate system. When a deviation from the magic angle is introduced, oscillations appear in the precession-decay signal. These oscillations are distinctive in that the signal does not reach zero at the first few minima. These features of the free-precession decay are explained on the basis that the nuclear dipole-dipole interactions in the rotating coordinate system under magic-angle conditions are fundamentally different from those in the laboratory system. Theoretical predictions agree qualitatively with the experimental results.
