Аннотация: We study optical properties of the multiband superconductors with an s В± order parameter symmetry. By comparing results of our theory with experimental data on optical conductivity for Ba0.68K 0.32Fe2As2 single crystals, we show that satisfactory description of the novel superconductors can be obtained only considering a strong electron-boson coupling. We reexamine the effect of disorder and demonstrate that multiband superconductors are more robust with respect to it than naively expected by simple analogy with paramagnetic impurities in single-band superconductors. Moreover, disorder may give rise to new effects, in particular to a phase transition s В±>s ++. We discuss how the systematic study of disorder impact on the density of states and the optical conductivity may provide information on the underlying order parameter structure.     Multiband model for the dynamical conductivity of superconducting pnictides manifestation of impurity induced s±às++ transition / D. V. Efremov [et al.] // International conferences «Phase separation and Superstripes in High Temperature Superconductors and Related Materials (Superstripes-2012)». - 2012. - P. 127
Аннотация: The multiband (4 x4 bands) model and its reduction to the effective two-band model taking into account the strong interaction with intermediate spin-fluctuations have been successively applied to the description of the properties of Ba1-xKxFeAs2. On the base of this approach and using the extension of the formalism developed for the multiband system MgB2 we have calculated free energy and frequency dependent optical complex conductivity \ sigma ( \omega ,T) in the superconducting as well as the normal states of pnictides. An application of the presented approach to the ellipsometry data for single crystals of Ba1-xKxFeAs2 allows to describe some experimental features connected to multigap nature and strong coupling effects. Effects of rather strong nonmagnetic impurities beyond the Born approximation which can lead to the transitions in the superconducting order parameter S+- - S++ were investigated.

    Disorder-induced transition between s± and s++ states Fe-based superconductors / M. M. Korshunov [et al.] // International Conference "APS". March Meeting : bulletin of the American Physical Society. - 2012. - Vol. 57, № 1 . - P. 113
Аннотация: The symmetry and structure of the superconducting gap in recently discovered Fe-based materials is one of the main challenges in this exciting new field (see, e.g. P.J. Hirschfeld, M.M. Korshunov, and I.I. Mazin, Rep. Progr. Phys. 2011). We have reexamined the problem of disorder in 2-band superconductors, and shown within the framework of the T-matrix approximation that the suppression of Tc can be described by a single parameter depending on the intra- and interband impurity scattering rates. Tc is shown to be more robust against nonmagnetic impurities than would be predicted in the trivial extension of Abrikosov-Gor'kov theory. We find disorder-induced transition from the s± state to a gapless and then to a fully gapped s++ state, controlled by the sign of the average coupling constant.

Аннотация: We analyze how the magnetic disorder affects the properties of the two-band s± and s++ models, which are the subject of discussions regarding iron-based superconductors and other multiband systems like MgB2. We show that there are several cases when the transition temperature Tc is not fully suppressed by magnetic impurities in contrast to the Abrikosov-Gor'kov theory, but a saturation of Tc takes place in the regime of strong disorder. These cases are: (1) the purely interband impurity scattering and (2) the unitary scattering limit. We show that in the former case the s± gap is preserved, while the s++ state transforms into the s± state with increasing magnetic disorder. For case (2), the gap structure remains intact.

Аннотация: The s ± and s ++ models for the superconducting state are subject of intense studies regarding Fe-based superconductors. Depending on the parameters, disorder may leave intact or suppress T c in these models. Here, we study the special case of disorder with equal values of intra- and interband impurity potentials in the two-band s ± and s ++ models. We show that this case can be considered as an isolated point and T c there has maximal damping for a wide range of parameters.

Аннотация: Recently, several measurements of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate T(1)(-1) in the superconducting Fe pnictides have been reported. These measurements generally show no coherence peak below T(c) and indicate a low-temperature power-law behavior, the characteristics commonly taken as evidence of unconventional superconductivity with lines of nodes crossing the Fermi surface. In this work we show that (i) the lack of a coherence peak is fully consistent with the previously proposed nodeless extended s(+/-)-wave symmetry of the order parameter (whether in the clean or dirty limit) and (ii) the low-temperature power-law behavior can be also explained in the framework of the same model but requires going beyond the Born limit.

Unconventional superconductors -- Iron pnictides -- Iron chalcogenides -- Impurity scattering
Аннотация: Disorder impurities and defects violating the ideal long-range order is always present in solids. It can result in interesting and sometimes unexpected effects in multiband superconductors, especially if the superconductivity is uncon-ventional, thus having symmetry other than the usual s-wave. This paper uses the examples of iron-based pnictides and chal-cogenides to examine how both nonmagnetic and magnetic impurities affect superconducting states with s± and s++ order parameters. We show that disorder causes the transition between s± and s++ states and examine what observable effects this transition can produce. © 2016 Uspekhi Fizicheskikh Nauk, Russian Academy of Sciences.

unconventional superconductors -- iron pnictides -- iron chalcogenides -- impurity scattering
Аннотация: IIrradiation of superconductors with different particles is one of many ways to investigate the effects of disorder. Here we study the disorder-induced transition between s ± and s ++ states in the two-band model for Fe-based superconductors with nonmagnetic impurities. Specifically, we investigate the important question of whether the superconducting gaps during the transition change smoothly or abruptly. We show that the behavior can be of either type and is controlled by the ratio of intraband to interband impurity scattering potentials, and by a parameter σ, that represents scattering strength and ranges from zero (Born approximation) to one (unitary limit). For the pure interband scattering potential and the scattering strength σ ≲ 0.11, the s ± → s ++ transition is accompanied by steep changes in the gaps, while for larger values of σ, the gaps change smoothly. The behavior of the gaps is characterized by steep changes at low temperatures, T˂ 0.1Tc0 with Tc0 being the critical temperature in the clean limit, otherwise it changes gradually. The critical temperature Tc is always a smooth function of the scattering rate in spite of the steep changes in the behavior of the gaps.

unconventional superconductors -- iron pnictides -- iron chalcogenides -- impurity scattering
Аннотация: We study the dependence of the superconducting gaps on both the disorder and the temperature within the two-band model for iron-based materials. In the clean limit, the system is in the s± state with sign-changing gaps. Scattering by nonmagnetic impurities leads to the change of the sign of the smaller gap, resulting in a transition from the s± to the s++ state with the sign-preserving gaps. We show here that the transition is temperature-dependent. Thus, there is a line of s±→s++ transition in the temperature–disorder phase diagram. There is a narrow range of impurity scattering rates, where the disorder-induced s±→s++ transition occurs at low temperatures, but then the low-temperature s++ state transforms back to the s± state at higher temperatures. With increasing impurity scattering rate, the temperature of such s++→s± transition shifts to the critical temperature Tc, and only the s++ state is left for higher amounts of disorder.
