Аннотация: A multimode resonator is proposed, containing five resonant modes that are incorporated in the passband forming. The structure is based on a dielectric substrate suspended in a metallic case that allows solving problem of electromagnetic compatibility. Due to features of the resonator's structure, several higher modes do not excite that significantly improve the performance of the filter's stopband. The resonator advantages are proved on the ultra-wide bandpass filter (101%) with small overall size (0.11λ 0×0.06λ 0×0.03λ 0) and good stopband performance (first spurious band locates at 8 GHz, suppression is 80 dB).

Аннотация: The paper is devoted to an investigation of two-conductor suspended-substrate resonators. For the purpose of miniaturization conductors of a resonator are folded. Four types of the resonator differing in conductors’ configurations were considered. Their Q0-factors and resonant frequencies were studied. Based on results of the study two types of the resonator appeared unsuitable for an application in compact filters. Two other types were investigated in concern of their interaction: dependencies of coupling coefficients versus space between resonators and versus distance from substrate’s surfaces, and package’s covers were obtained. Based on the dependences a type of the resonator suitable for designing compact BPF was chosen. A four-pole BPF was simulated and fabricated. Good agreement between simulated and experimental results is observed. The main filter’s characteristics are the next: substrate has ε = 80, thickness 0.5 mm, lateral sizes 0.13λg × 0.09λg (18.7mm× 13.2 mm). The central frequency is 305 MHz; bandwidth is 39 MHz; passband minimum insertion loss is 2.0 dB; passband return loss is less −14.6dB; −40 dB stopband width is 480 MHz.

Аннотация: A method aiming to widen the upper stopband in a microwave bandpass filter based on two-conductor suspended-substrate stripline resonators is described in this letter. Applicability of the method is illustrated by simulating and fabricating fourth-order filter that has a very wide upper stopband: Δfstop/f0 = 7.92 measured at a level -50 dB, which is achieved because the widths of the inner resonators in the structure are 1.4 times greater than that of the outer ones.

Аннотация: New resonator design employing a hairpin stripline conductor with a stub situated on one side of a dielectric substrate and regular stripline conductors (connected to a screen) on the other side. Eigenfrequencies of the first three oscillation modes of this resonator can be made closer to each other, so that the resonances of two modes are involved in the formation of the passband while the third mode resonance forms a minimum of the transmission coefficient adjacent to the passband. A structure comprising four resonators of this type has the characteristic of an eighth-order bandpass filter arranged in a case with 45 × 16 × 6.25-mm internal dimensions possessing f0 = 0.52 GHz central frequency with a 14% relative bandwidth. The filter is highly selective due to the attenuation poles being close to the pass band and a wide high-frequency stopband extending above a fivefold f0 value at a level of –100 dB.

Аннотация: An analog of an optical waveguide in the form of a chain of metallic nanoparticles has been investigated using modified cylindrical dielectric resonators in the microwave band. Similar to the plasma oscillations in spherical nanoparticles, the two lowest resonances of the dielectric resonator correspond to the dipole and quadrupole oscillatory modes. It is shown that a waveguide consisting of seven resonators exhibits high frequency selective properties and relatively low loss if the resonances of the quadrupole oscillatory modes are used to form its passband. The characteristics of the investigated waveguide remain almost unchanged at its bending by 90°, and the cross section of localization of the main part of the energy propagating in the waveguide is smaller than the electromagnetic wavelength by a factor of five, which approximately corresponds to the optical waveguides based on plasma oscillations in nanoparticles.

Аннотация: В данной статье приведены результаты исследования коэффициентов связи согласующей цепи с входными резонаторами каналов в микрополосковом диплексере. Каналы диплексера представляют собой двухзвенные фильтры, а согласующая цепь – регулярный нерезонансный отрезок микрополосковой линии, помещенной между входными резонаторами каналов. Общий порт подключен к наружному концу отрезка, а его второй конец разомкнут. Исследования проводили теоретически с помощью компьютерной программы, разработанной на основе математических выражений, полученных применением одномерных моделей и квазистатического приближения. Результаты исследования показывают, что величина связи достаточно велика и использование согласующей цепи в виде нерезонансного отрезка микрополосковой линии позволяет проектировать диплексеры с широкими полосами пропускания каналов.This paper deals with investigation of the coupling coefficients between the matching circuit and the input resonators of channels in a microstrip diplexer. Diplexer channels are two-section filters, and matching circuit is regular non-resonant segment of a microstrip line placed between input resonators of channels. The common port is connected to outer end of the segment and its second end is opened. Research was carried out theoretically using a computer program developed on the basis of mathematical expressions obtained by means of one-dimensional models and quasi-static approximation. The results show that a value of coupling is quite large and the use of the matching circuit in a form of a non-resonant segment of a microstrip line allows to design diplexers with wide fractional bandwidth of the channels.

Аннотация: I review the four mechanisms of bound states in the continuum (BICs) in the application of microwave and acoustic cavities open to directional waveguides. The most simple are symmetry-protected BICs, which are localized inside the cavity because of the orthogonality of the eigenmodes to the propagating modes of waveguides. However, the most general and interesting is the Friedrich-Wintgen mechanism, when the BICs are the result of the fully destructive interference of outgoing resonant modes. The third type of BICs, Fabry-Perot BICs, occurs in a double resonator system when each resonator can serve as an ideal mirror. Finally, the accidental BICs can be realized in the open cavities with no symmetry like the open Sinai billiard in which the eigenmode of the resonator can become orthogonal to the continuum of the waveguide accidentally due to a smooth deformation of the eigenmode. We also review the one-dimensional systems in which the BICs occur owing to the fully destructive interference of two waves separated by spin or polarization or by paths in the Aharonov-Bohm rings. We make broad use of the method of effective non-Hermitian Hamiltonian equivalent to the coupled mode theory, which detects BICs by finding zero-width resonances.

Аннотация: Ultra-wideband microwave filters with high frequency-selective properties have been developed by means of electrodynamic numerical analysis of 3D models. Microstrip structures, which are studied theoretically and experimentally, use one multimode resonator and a pair of single-mode resonators. There is fairly good agreement between the calculated data and the data taken on the experimental sample. The relative bandwidth of the manufactured microstrip filter is 60%.

Аннотация: A structure that consists of a λ/4 stepped-impedance microstrip resonator is proposed as an instrument for the investigation of nonlinear effects in thin magnetic films and also can be used as a microwave frequency doubler. A conversion efficiency of 0.65% is observed at a one-layer 100 nm Ni80Fe20 thin film at an input signal level of 4.6 W for a 1 GHz probe signal. The maximum measured conversion efficiency (1% at 1 GHz) was achieved for the 9-layer Ni80Fe20 film where 150 nm magnetic layers were separated by SiO2 layers.

Аннотация: A new approach allowing to improve frequency-selective properties for a fixed order of N filter is suggested. In all the studies, conducted with the help of numerical electrodynamic analysis of 3D models of microstrip filters based on a multimode resonator, the same substrate with dielectric constant ϵ=2.8 and thickness h=2 mm (material - FLAN) was used in calculations. The central bandpass frequency of microwave structures f 0≈1.4 GHz was registered and as well as relative bandwidth Δf/f o≈80%. The strip conductor of central multimode resonator in six studied filters of the sixth and eighth orders has the shape of an irregular meander being electromagnetically connected with four single-mode resonators, a pair of which is located to the left of it, and the other pair is to the right. It is shown that in single-mode quarter-wave resonators building-up the number of portions of identical parallel strip conductors, connected to a screen at one end and connected with each other by a strip conductor jumper, can increase the power of suppression at low-frequency stop band by more than 15 dB, as well as near high-frequency slope of passband by more than 10 dB. Therefore, the level of maximums of return losses in the passband of wideband bandpass filter ranges within a few dB.

Аннотация: Ten microstrip bandpass filters with wide high-frequency stop band are investigated with the help of the numerical electrodynamic analysis of 3D models. From each resonator bandwidth of the offered filters tuned with a relative width Δf/f0=20% is formed by one lowest oscillations mode only. However at all microwave devices the extended high-frequency stop band is observed due to large leap of lines portions wave drags. Build-up of number of resonators in filters up to 6 order is resulted by growth of the steepness of slopes bandwidth and gain suppression of power at frequencies of stop bands. The width of high-frequency stop band at miniaturization of microstrip devices is reducing.

Аннотация: Microstrip bandpass filters to the 6th order, based on 2D electromagnetic crystals were studied. Their appliance in structures of irregular resonators with originally convolved and earthed on its base with strip conductors enables the implementation of filters building multiple versions, including of high frequency-selective properties. The good conformance of the calculated characteristics in comparison with the received characteristics on experimentally made model of microwave device is shown. © 2016 IEEE.

Аннотация: A compact microstrip resonator based on the interdigital structure is proposed. The resonator has several times higher unloaded quality factor compared to similar resonators presented previously and can even reach the Q-factor of a regular λ/4 resonator. The size of the resonator can be significantly reduced with a substantial increase in quality factor by incrementing the number of fingers in the interdigital structure. In addition, for each gap between the fingers, there exist an optimal number of fingers that correspond to the maximum Q-factor. An extension of the upper stopband for a bandpass filter designed using the resonator can be achieved by the interconnection of the fingers in each of the comb structures. The simulation results are proven by fabricated resonators and a fourpole bandpass filter. For the central frequency of 2000 MHz and 16.2% fractional bandwidth, the lateral size of the filter is only 11.5mm × 3.8 mm for alumina substrate (eps = 9.8). The filter has an upper stopband up to 5.8f0 at the level −40 dB.

Аннотация: The diplexers based on 2D electromagnetic crystal are investigated with the help of the numerical electrodynamic analysis of 3D models. The input half-wave resonator has rolled up strip conductor in the claimed microstrip designs tuned with nearly adjacent bandwidths. It allows to coordinate channels rather easily. Such resonator in the first two-channel device at the same time interacts with pair of quarter-wave resonators having strip conductors in the form of the Russian letter «П». In the second two-channel device it interacts similarly, with pair of resonators with strip conductors in the form of a letter «Ш». Build-up of number of periodically located rectangular portions of strip conductors in adjacent resonators allows to increase in proportion number of the resonances participating in formation of both low-frequency, and high-frequency bandwidths. At the same time in amplitude-frequency characteristics of diplexers growth of the steepness of slopes of adjacent bandwidths and gain suppression of power at frequencies of stop bands are observed. © 2016 IEEE.

It is the first experience giving the possibility of combining inherent frequencies up to six lowest modes of oscillations, which are involved in the formation of the bandpass of the multimode resonator. Аннотация: A microwave power limiter based on three-pole microstrip filter is designed, fabricated and tested. In the device outer resonators are coupled through an inner resonator containing high-temperature superconducting film. Prototype of the device with central frequency 8.3 GHz and relative bandwidth 7% has insertion loss 3 dB in the open state and signal suppression not less 35 dB in the limitation state.

Аннотация: The design of 8-order band-pass filter based on 2-D photonic crystal is suggested. Strip conductors in all dual-mode resonators are in the form of irregular rectangular frame with a gap and are connected at certain points with the ground. At optimal placement of such resonators on a substrate attenuation pole is observed on the amplitude-frequency characteristic of the filter, near low and high bandwidth slope that significantly improves its frequency-selective properties. The change of gap between input and output resonators allows to control the frequency of these poles.

Аннотация: This paper presents a ferrite tunable waveguide filter showing high Qu and high tunability in X-band. A new type of waveguide cavity resonator with an H102 operating mode was proposed for the creation of a low-loss, two-pole filter. The filter results in an insertion loss of 3.6-4.1 dB over the tuning range 8.74-9.63 GHz with a relative bandwidth of 0.92-0.79% and biasing magnetic field 0-600 Oe. This design demonstrates an unloaded quality factor of 380-396 over the tunable frequency range. © 2016 IEEE.

Аннотация: An original microstrip resonator design with a strip conductor split by a slot at one of its ends is investigated. It is demonstrated that at the optimal slot sizes, when the eigenfrequency of the second oscillation mode hits the center between the first and third oscillation modes, the resonator can work as a thirdorder bandpass filter. The structure formed from only two such resonators electromagnetically coupled by split conductor sections is a miniature six-order wideband filter with high selectivity. The test prototype of the filter with a central passband frequency of ~1.2 GHz and a passband width of ~0.75 GHz fabricated on a substrate ~(45 × 11 × 1) mm3 in size with a permittivity of 80 is characterized by minimum loss in a passband of 0.5 dB. The parametric synthesis of the filter structure was performed using electrodynamic analysis of the 3D model. The measured characteristics of the test prototype agree well with the calculated data.

Аннотация: Разработана новая миниатюрная монолитная конструкция полосно-пропускающего фильтра, которая может изготавливаться по технологии многослойных печатных плат. Каждый резонатор в фильтре образован вставленными друг в друга металлическими спиралями левой и правой закрутки, у которых одна пара смежных концов замкнута на экран, а другая – свободна. Витки из полосковых проводников в форме одинаковых прямоугольных рамок выполнены на диэлектрических пластинах и располагаются в многослойной структуре строго друг под другом с чередованием витков левой и правой спиралей. Конструкция фильтра на таких многопроводниковых двуспиральных резонаторах имеет не только малые размеры, но и обладает высокой селективностью, что доказывают измеренные характеристики фильтра четвертого порядка, резонаторы которого изготовлены на пяти диэлектрических слоях из материала RO4350BTM. Центральная частота полосы пропускания фильтра f0 = 60 МГц, ее относительная ширина Δf / f0 = 18 %, при этом размеры устройства 34 × 16.5 × 4.3 мм3 (0.007λ0 × 0.003λ0 × 0.001λ0, где λ0 ‒ длина волны в вакууме на частоте f0). Фильтр обладает протяженной полосой заграждения, которая по уровню ‒38 дБ простирается до частоты 16f0.A new miniature monolithic bandpass filter, which can be manufactured using multilayer standard all-PCB technology, is presented. Each resonator in the filter is formed by metal spirals of the left and right wist inserted into each other, in which one pair of adjacent ends is grounded, and the other is free. Spiral inductors have the form of identical rectangular frames and are designed on dielectric substrates, located on a multilayer structure strictly under each other with alternating turns of the left and right spirals. The design of the filter based on such multilayer double-spiral resonators is both small in size, and highly selective, which is proved by the measured characteristics of the fourth order filter fabricated at seven dielectric layers of RO4350B material. The filter has the central frequency of the passband f0 = 60 MHz, and the fractional bandwidth Δf / f0 = 18%, while the size of the device is of the device are only 34 × 16.5 × 4.3 mm3 (0.007λ0 × 0.003λ0 × 0.001λ0, where λ0 is the wavelength at the center frequency f0). The filter has a wide stopband, which extends up to the frequency of 16f0 at a level of –38 dB.
