RESONANCE
   LINE

Аннотация: The dynamics of the crystal nucleus spin system in constant and continuous strong radiofrequency magnetic fields is studied. The variation of the relaxation properties of the magnetization perpendicular to the effective field is studied with changing the field orientation in the rotating frame of coordinates and with changing the relation in the mean hamiltonian of two- and three-spin dipole-dipole couplings. The third and fourth moments of the NMR spectrum in the rotating frame of coordinates and the free precession fall are calculated by means of the memory function. The connection between the three-spin coupling and the features of such falls observed in the experiments under magic angle and bias from it is explained.

Аннотация: The simple lattice and magnetic structure, the high Neel temperature, the narrow antiferromagnetic resonance line of FeBO3, and the narrow electron paramagnetic resonance line of its isostructural diamagnetic analogs MBO3:Fe3+(M = Ga, In, Sc, Lu) make iron borate unique for investigations and applications. Iron borate is a model crystal for numerous experimental and theoretical studies, including spin crossovers and metallization at megabar pressures and many-electron effects in optics and X-ray spectroscopy. The recent works dealing with the investigation of the properties of FeBO(3)are reviewed.

RESONANCE
Аннотация: The magnetic susceptibility and magnetic resonance measurements of an amorphous compound Bi2CuO4 have been carried out. It was pointed out, that a part of Cu2+ ions stays in the paramagnetic state down to T=4,2 K. The magnitude of the effective exchange integral in amorphous Bi2CuO4 has been estimated. The magnetic resonance measurements revealed the existance of the magnetic phase transition to spin-glass state at T=100 K.

Аннотация: Magnetic susceptibility, EPR and optical properties have been studied in a glass system {20La(2)O(3) - 22Al(2)O(3) - 23B(2)O(3) - 35(SiO2 + GeO2)} with a part of La2O3 substituted by Gd2O3 in different concentrations. Positive Weiss constants have been found in more heavily doped glasses; two magnetic transitions at 55 and 12 K have been detected and ascribed, respectively, to ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic clusters of Gd3+ ions. The EPR spectra confirm the clustering at higher Gd contents. At low temperatures the cluster-related resonance indicates an onset of magnetic anisotropy. The clustering, depending on the Gd concentration, correlates with a shift to lower energies of the strong optical absorption band edge.

RESONANCE
Аннотация: A new magnetic material, C-60 fullerite powder doped by magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles, is obtained by heating a mixture of fullerite and iron(III) acetylacetonate. It is shown that the material offers superparamagnetic properties. Surface bonding between the nanoparticles and the fullerite is established. (c) 2005 Pleiades Publishing, Inc.

Аннотация: The temperature dependence of the magnetization of (Fe/Si) (n) multilayer films with nanometer layers is investigated. The films are prepared through thermal evaporation under ultrahigh vacuum onto Si(100) and Si(111) single-crystal substrates. It is revealed that the thickness of individual iron layers in (Fe/Si) (n) multilayer films affects the magnetization and its temperature dependence. The inference is made that this dependence is associated with the formation of a chemical interface at the Fe-Si boundaries. The characteristics of the chemical interface in the (Fe/Si) (n) films are estimated.

Аннотация: It is shown that dispersions of E-1(LO) and A(1)(LO) modes of InN can be restored in a wide interval of wave vectors by studying impurity-induced first-order Raman scattering as a function of exciting light energy. It is also shown that due to the resonance character of scattering the observed phonon energies correspond to the wave vectors strictly defined by exciting photon energies. The frequencies of E-1(LO) and A(1)(LO) phonons at the Gamma point obtained by extrapolation to zero wave vectors were found to be 604 and 592 cm(-1), respectively.

Аннотация: By using a simple model we consider single-channel transmission through a double quantum dot that consists of two single dots coupled by a wire of finite length L. Each of the two single dots is characterized by a few energy levels only, and the wire is assumed to have only one level whose energy depends on the length L. The transmission is described by using S matrix theory and the effective non-Hermitian Hamilton operator H-eff of the system. The decay widths of the eigenstates of H-eff depend strongly on energy. The model explains the origin of the transmission zeros of the double dot that is considered by us. Mostly, they are caused by (destructive) interferences between neighboring levels and are of first order. When, however, both single dots are identical and their transmission zeros are of first order, those of the double dot are of second order. First-order transmission zeros cause phase jumps of the transmission amplitude by pi, while there are no phase jumps related to second-order transmission zeros. In this latter case, a phase jump occurs due to the fact that the width of one of the states vanishes when crossing the energy of the transmission zero. The parameter dependence of the widths of the resonance states is determined by the spectral properties of the two single dots.

   BORATE

Аннотация: The results are given of experimental and theoretical study for the photoinduced variation of the magnetic moment in FeBO3. In the experiment a SQUID-magnetometer provided with the optical pump system is used. The study of field, temperature and time dependences of the photoinduced magnetic moment variation for various levels of the optical emission power allows to find the mechanism responsible for changing magnetic state under irradiation. All the experimental results are explained within the model in which the crystal-matrix is described in the continual approximation and a photocenter, probably, Fe2+ ion is done as a quasi Ising S=1 ion coupled by exchange with one of the crystal magnetic sublattice. Under illuminating the redistribution of the principal multiplet level populations occurs so that the level of the stronger anisotropic character is populated predominantly due to the selection rules. The model used allows to calculate and explain the anisotropic properties of FeBO3 crystals and spin-flip transition in the basal plane at low temperature.

Аннотация: The contributions of the anisotropic exchange to the firstand second-order uniaxial anisotropy constants have been calculated for hematite at T = 0 K and arbitrary temperatures. The results of the calculations and the most significant mechanisms are taken into account in interpreting the temperature dependence of the anisotropy in rhombohedral antiferromagnetic crystals. The first-order anisotropy constant for hematite is described by the dipole interaction, contributions of the "single-ion" nature, and relatively small contributions of the anisotropic exchange. The second-order constant for hematite includes the "single-ion" contribution and the contribution of the anisotropic exchange. For FeBO(3) and MnCO(3) crystals, the main contributions to the first-order anisotropy constant come from the dipole and single-ion mechanisms.
