Аннотация: A new incommensurate magnetic structure with a locally triangular orientation of spins has been proposed for a two-subsystem magnet with frustrated intersystem exchange and competition between exchanges in one of the subsystems. When the temperature is lowered, this structure appears from the antiferromagnetic state after a first-order phase transition. It transfers to the Yafet-Kittel triangular structure when the threshold conditions for the exchange interactions are fulfilled. An increase in the length of the frustrated exchange bonds leads to the appearance of an incommensurate phase with the local antiferromagnetic orientation of the sublattices in each subsystem between the commensurate antiferromagnetic and Yafet-Kittel phases.

Аннотация: The conditions of the appearance of conical incommensurate structures have been studied analytically for a ferrimagnet with the geometrically frustrated exchange between spins in different magnetic positions (subsystems) and the competition between exchanges in one of the subsystems. The phase transition temperatures to the conical states have been determined. The types of phase transitions have been determined by the numerical minimization of the free energy and (temperature-exchange parameters) phase diagrams have been obtained.

Аннотация: The phase transitions into flat and conical incommensurate magnetic structures are considered for a ferrimagnet with the dominant nonfrustrated exchange between the spins in one crystallographic position, competing exchanges between the spins in another position and frustrated exchange between the spins in different positions. The appearance conditions and the temperatures of the second order phase transitions are analytically obtained in the mean field approximation. The first order phase transition between these states is studied and the phase diagrams of temperature vs frustrated exchanges are calculated by the numerical minimization of free energy.

Аннотация: Dependence of the magnetic and magnetooptical properties of an exchange-coupled NiFe/DyCo bilayer system on the thickness (t (DyCo)) of a magnetically hard layer has been studied. It is established that the unidirectional anisotropy vanishes at t (DyCo) similar to 400 , while the coercive field in the magnetically soft layer becomes comparable to the exchange-induced field shift. In this case, the DyCo layer magnetization is almost parallel to the film plane, whereas a reference DyCo film exhibits a perpendicular anisotropy. A model of the magnetic state of layers in the ferro/ferrimagnetic layer structure under consideration is proposed, which assumes that a 180A degrees domain wall is formed at the interface upon magnetization reversal in the magnetically soft layer.

Аннотация: The transport properties of the two phases composites based on Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 (YBCO) and Y-3(Al1-xFex)(5)O-12 (X = 0-0... 1.0) have been studied to investigate the effect of magnetic ordering in garnet on superconducting properties of the composites. The composites represent network of Josephson junctions where the non-superconducting ingredient (garnet) acts as barriers separating YBCO grains. It is found that magneto-active ions (Fe) in garnet are responsible for an additional suppression of Josephson coupling in the composites. At some critical concentration of Fe atoms full suppression of super current is observed in a temperature range from T-C of YBCO grains down to the characteristic temperature T,,,. This behavior is attributed to the interaction of super current carriers with spins of Fe atoms located in the barriers. The crossover from S-I-S (S-superconductor, I-insulator) to S-F-S (F-ferrimagnet) junctions is observed in the compdsites Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + Y-3(Al1-xFex)(5)O-12 with x increase. Аннотация: Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + Y3Fe5O12 composites with different volume ratios of the starting components were synthesized. The composites model an S-F-S Josephson junction network, where S stands for a superconductor and F, for a ferrimagnet. A study of the transport characteristics of the composites revealed that the temperature behavior of the electrical resistivity rho(T) below the superconducting transition point T-C is different in two regions separated by a temperature T-m. Below T-m, the current-voltage characteristics of the composites are nonlinear, while in the interval from T-C to T-m the values of rho(T) do not depend on the transport current j and magnetic field H. This behavior of rho(T, j ) and rho(T, H) is assigned to specific features of the tunneling of superconducting carriers through the ferrimagnetic layers separating HTSC grains in the composite. Magnetic measurements showed the diamagnetic response of HTSC grains to be lower in composites with a ferrimagnet. (C) 2003 MAIK "Nauka / Interperiodica".

Аннотация: The transport properties of two-phase composites consisting of a high-temperature superconductor and a nonsuperconducting component with magnetic ordering are analyzed. These composites are considered as a network of "superconductor-magnetoactive insulator-superconductor" weak links of the Josephson type. Substituted garnets Y-3(Al1 - x Fe (x) )(5)O-12 (x = 0, ..., 1.0) are used as a magnetoactive component. The composites under investigation contain 92.5 vol % Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 (the high-temperature superconductor) and 7.5 vol % Y-3(Al1 - x Fe (x) )(5)O-12 (x = 0, ..., 1.0). It is shown that an increase in the iron content in the Y-3(Al1 - x Fe (x) )(5)O-12 garnet leads to a reduction of the Josephson coupling strength: the temperature range in which the electrical resistance of the composites is equal to zero is reduced, and the critical current density at a temperature of 4.2 K decreases exponentially. For composites in which the iron content in the Y-3(Al1 - x Fe (x) )(5)O-12 garnet is higher than 0.1, the temperature dependence of the electrical resistance R(T) at temperatures below the transition point T-C of high-temperature superconductor crystallites has a portion in the range T-m -T-C where the resistance R(T) is independent of the transport current and the magnetic field strength. Below the temperature T-m , the dependences of the electrical resistance R(T) of the composites are nonlinear functions of the current and involve a considerable contribution from magnetoresistance. This behavior is characteristic of a network of Josephson junctions. The temperature T-m decreases with an increase in the iron content in the Y-3(Al1 - x Fe (x) )(5)O-12 garnet. The appearance of the above feature in the temperature dependences of the electrical resistance R(T) is interpreted as complete suppression of the Josephson coupling in the temperature range above T (m) due to the interaction of supercurrent carrier pairs with magnetic moments of iron atoms in the dielectric barriers separating high-temperature superconductor grains.
