Аннотация: In this paper we have analytically and numerically studied the dynamics of spin crossover induced by time-dependent pressure. We show that quasi static pressure, with a slow dependence on time, yields a spin crossover leading to transition from the high spin (HS) quantum system state to the low spin (LS) state. However, quench dynamics under shockwave load are more complicated. The final state of the system depends on the amplitude and pulse velocity, resulting in the mixture of the HS and LS states. Аннотация: The relationship is established between quantum phase transitions and complex geometric phases for open quantum systems governed by a non-Hermitian effective Hamiltonian with accidental crossing of the eigenvalues. In particular, the geometric phase associated with the ground state of the one-dimensional dissipative Ising model in a transverse magnetic field is evaluated, and it is demonstrated that the related quantum phase transition is of the first order.

Аннотация: Within the framework of a realistic multi-band p-d-model, we derived an effective Hamiltonian to describe the exchange interaction effects near the spin crossover in magnetic Mott-Hubbard insulators under pressure. It is shown that single-ion mechanism of spin crossover under change of the crystal field does not lead to a thermodynamic phase transition, however, at T = 0 a quantum phase transition appears. It has been found that the cooperativity leads to a modification of the quantum phase transition to a first-order phase transition and the appearance of metastable states of the system. The pressure - temperature phase diagram has been obtained to describe the magnetization and high-spin population near the spin crossover of the Motts dielectrics with d6-ions.

Аннотация: The effect of the exchange interaction between excited high-spin terms of transition metal ions in magnetic Mott–Hubbard insulators on the thermodynamics of the system with singlet terms of ions in the ground state near the crossover of singlet and high-spin terms with the increase in the pressure is studied with the effective Hamiltonian. It is shown that the crossover at the temperature below the critical T* ‹ TN is a first-order phase transition and is accompanied by a volume jump. The crossover at the temperature above T* is accompanied by a smooth change in the crystal volume.
