magnetic field sensors -- thin films -- multilayered structures -- magnetic anisotropy -- anisotropy distribution -- ferromagnetic resonance -- magnetoimpedance -- high frequency applications
Аннотация: Magnetometry and ferromagnetic resonance are used to quantitatively study magnetic anisotropy with an easy axis both in the film plane and perpendicular to it. In the study of single-layer and multilayer permalloy films, it is demonstrated that these methods make it possible not only to investigate the average field of perpendicular and in-plane anisotropy, but also to characterize their inhomogeneity. It is shown that the quantitative data from direct integral and local measurements of magnetic anisotropy are consistent with the direct and indirect estimates based on processing of the magnetization curves. The possibility of estimating the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy constant from the width of stripe domains in a film in the transcritical state is demonstrated. The average in-plane magnetic anisotropy field of permalloy films prepared by magnetron sputtering onto a Corning glass is almost unchanged with the thickness of a single-layer film. The inhomogeneity of the perpendicular anisotropy field for a 500 nm film is greater than that for a 100 nm film, and for a multilayer film with a total permalloy thickness of 500 nm, it is greater than that for a homogeneous film of the same thickness.

spin-wave and ferromagnetic resonance -- surface anisotropy constant -- thin magnetic films -- boundary conditions
Аннотация: This paper presents the results of measuring the main parameters of the ferromagnetic and spin-wave resonance spectra (resonant field, linewidth, and intensity) of single-layer permalloy films at various angles in the out-of-plane orientation. The effect of the type of surface conditions on the angular dependence of the intensity ratio of adjacent modes is studied. A correspondence is established between the angle of the applied constant magnetic field with respect to the normal to the film and the change in the oscillation type from uniform to nonuniform. The revealed features of the angular dependences of the resonant field and the intensity of the spectral peak can be successfully used in the identification of microwave spectra. The fundamental magnetic parameters (effective magnetization, exchange interaction constant, surface anisotropy constant, and perpendicular anisotropy field) were determined.

Magnetic nanoparticles -- Magnetite -- Gold nanoparticles -- Cytotoxicity
Аннотация: Magnetic nanocomposites containing iron oxide and gold components take great attention last years because of their relative biocompatibility and the ability to combine the magnetic properties of iron and the chemical bonding properties of gold for the possible drug delivery or diagnostics for various diseases. However, such particles have some toxicity to living cells, and the effect depends on many factors, including size, shape, the ratio of components in the composites, and the type of cells affected. And thus, the search for compositions and technologies for producing iron-gold particles with improved properties and reduced cytotoxicity remains relevant. The aim of the study was to synthesize and characterize Fe3O4/Au nanocomposites and evaluate their influence on living cells using the example of cell line HEK293. Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by co-precipitation of Fe2+/Fe3+ water solution in alkaline conditions and then boiled with HAuCl4 in 0.1 M sodium citrate. The NPs properties were estimated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), vibration magnetometry and ferromagnetic resonance (FMR). According to magnetometric measurements, nanoparticles are mainly in a superparamagnetic state. By fitting magnetization curves, the magnetic characteristics of nanoparticles were determined: saturation magnetization (59.3 emu/g) and magnetic anisotropy constant (K = 0.86·105 erg/cm3). The average particle size estimated from magnetic measurements was 8.7 nm. Considering the presence of a magnetically dead layer, this is in good agreement with the TEM results. The temperature dependence of the FMR linewidth was analyzed using two models. As a result, the parameters MSV and K/MS were determined. The models used showed good agreement. The values of the anisotropy constant (K = 1.06·105 erg/cm3) and the average particle size (6.8 nm) are estimated. The effect of the NPs on the HEK293 cells was studied by MTT-assay, flow cytometry and RT-PCR. The exposure with the NPs lead to a significant decrease of cell metabolic activity in HEK293 cell culture, but this effect was not accompanied by cell death. It was shown that the expression of antioxidant enzymes SOD1 and GPX1 was reduced at the mRNA stage. So the NPs synthesized may affect gene expression and metabolism of HEK293 cells, but this does not have fatal consequences for cell viability.

Аннотация: We report ferromagnetic and spin-wave resonance measurements on the electroless deposited thin films of Fe-Ni alloy including alloy with invar content. From spin-wave resonance spectrum we defined the dependences of resonance fields on the number of mode. Analysis of this spectrum shows that positions of resonance fields are described by the Kittel dispersion relation. The type and the size of magnetic heterogeneity is estimated by the spin-wave spectroscopy technique. © (2015) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

ferromagnetic and spin-wave resonance -- surface anisotropy constant -- exchange coupling constant -- superlattice
Аннотация: Angular dependences of the microwave absorption spectra of a (CoFe/Cu)N multilayer film have been studied by the ferromagnetic and spin-wave resonance techniques. The critical angle θc indicating the ranges of excitation of uniform and nonuniform spin modes, type of the boundary conditions, and surface anisotropy and exchange coupling constants have been established. It is shown that the accuracy of identification of individual modes in the spectra plays a key role in the analysis of the detected curves.

Аннотация: Results are presented from investigating the ferromagnetic resonance spectra of arrays of Co‒Ni and Co‒Fe‒Ni wires with different composition gradients, deposited into polycarbonate track-etched membranes. The effect interfaces and concentration gradients have on the effective fields of the investigated wires is examined. An anomalous angular dependence of the fields of ferromagnetic resonance is observed for the wire arrays at a pore density of ~18% in the membrane.

Аннотация: The rectangular elements in magnetoimpedance (MI) configuration with a specific nanocomposite laminated structure based on FeNi and Cu layers were prepared by lift-off lithographic process. The properties of such elements are controlled by their shape, the anisotropy induced during the deposition, and by effects associated with the composite structure. The characterizations of static and dynamic properties, including MI measurements, show that these elements are promising for sensor applications. We have shown that competition between the shape anisotropy and the in-plane induced anisotropy of the element material is worth taking into account in order to understand the magnetic behavior of multilayered rectangular stripes. A possibility of the dynamic methods (ferromagnetic and spin-wave resonance) to describe laminated planar elements having a non-periodic modulation of both structure and magnetic parameters of a system is demonstrated. We show that the multilayered structure, which was originally designed to prevent the development of a “transcritical” state in magnetic layers and to reach the required thickness, also induces the effects that hinder the achievement of the goal, namely an increase in the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy energy.

Аннотация: The microwave phenomena that occur in magnetic multilayer (CoFe)/Cu nanostructures, which have a giant magnetoresistance, are studied. The transmission of waves through a nanostructure is used to investigate the microwave giant magnetoresistance effect. The changes in the transmission coefficient at frequencies of 29–38 GHz are found to exceed the relative magnetoresistance, which distinguishes the system under study from the nanostructures studied earlier. Ferromagnetic and spin-wave resonances are used to study the angular dependences of the microwave absorption spectra of a multilayer (CoFe/Cu)n nanostructure. The following parameters are determined: the critical angle that determines the boundaries of the ranges of excitation of uniform and nonuniform spin modes, the type of boundary conditions describing the pinning of spins on the outer nanostructure surfaces, and the surface anisotropy and exchange interaction constants.

Аннотация: The [(Co0.88Fe0.12)/Cu]N synthetic antiferromagnet has been investigated by the spin wave resonance method over the entire range of angles of an external dc magnetic field to the film surface normal. The investigations have shown that the superlattice under study consists of two exchange-coupled magnetic subsystems, each manifested in the recorded spectra as a series of spin-wave modes. The dependence of the linear region of propagation of a standing spin-wave mode on the sample orientation in an external magnetic field has been established.

Аннотация: Inhomogeneous layered magnetic thin films of amorphous and nanocrystalline Со–Р and Co–Ni alloys are studied via spin-wave resonance. It is found that the formation of a magnetic potential profile specified over the coating thickness leads to characteristic modifications of the spin-wave resonance spectrum. Another important factor that determines the type of modification is the dominant magnetic parameter (the constant of magnetization or exchange coupling).

Аннотация: Single-layer Fe x Ni1 - x thin magnetic films have been investigated by the spin-wave resonance technique in the entire concentration range. The surface anisotropy and exchange stiffness constants for the films with a Ni content from 30 to 80 at % have been measured from the experimental standing spin wave spectra. The surface exchange spin wave penetration depth δ C = 20–30 nm has been determined from the dependences of the surface anisotropy and exchange coupling constants on the Fe20Ni80 film thickness in the range of 250–400 nm.

spin-wave resonance -- surface-anisotropy constant -- exchange-interaction constant -- amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys
Аннотация: Layered magnetic films of Co–P alloy, which are sets of laminates with certain atomic and chemical structures, have been investigated by spin-wave resonance. Coatings of two types were synthesized: a magnonic crystal (amorphous Co(P)/fcc Co(P))N and gradient Co(P) films. They exhibit two different modifications of the spin-wave resonance (SWR) spectrum. In the first case, the SWR spectrum is described as Hn(n) ~ n2 with a modification caused by the formation of the first stop band of the magnonic crystal. In the second case, the dependence of resonance fields Hn of the spin-wave modes on mode number n has the form of Hn(n) ~ n2/3. Thermal annealing leads to crystallization (amorphous alloy → fcc) and causes transformation of the layered films to the films of single-phase Co–P alloys, which is accompanied by a change in the shapes of the SWR spectra and occurrence of a “exchange kink” spectral modification.

spin-wave resonance -- surface anisotropy constant -- exchange interaction constant -- interlayer exchange interaction
Аннотация: The spectrums of standing exchange spin waves into magnetic sandwich Ni80Fe20/Cu(tCu)/Ni80Fe20 were studied by spin-wave resonance method. The layer of diamagnetic Cu depending on its thickness tCu provided both positive and negative exchange interaction between ferromagnetic layers. It was shown that spin waves modes of SWR spectra which are described by well-known relation Hacres(n)~ n2 are standing acoustic exchange spin oscillations of individual ferromagnetic layers, regardless of a sign of interlayer exchange couple. It was detected that spin modes which are optical satellites of acoustic SWR peaks are described by the dependence of the resonance field Hopres(n)~ n5/2 or Hopres(n)~ n2 depending on the boundary conditions established on inner interfaces.
