Аннотация: We study the effect of the spin-orbit coupling on the band structure and the Fermi surface of the three-orbital model within the two-iron Brillouin zone. Due to the presence of two irons in the crystallographically correct unit cell, the spin-orbit coupling can be divided into the intra- and intercell parts with respect to the one-iron unit cell. We show that the intercell part produces the reconstruction of the Fermi surface in the form of the pronounced splitting between the previously degenerate electron (π, π)-pockets along the (0, π) - (π, π) direction. Intracell part shifts the bands around (0, 0) point and removes degeneracy there. There are also some other band shifts but they should not affect the low-energy physics because they occur at energy scales of about 1 eV below the Fermi level.

One of the features of the unconventional s± state in iron-based superconductors is possibility to transform to the s++ state with the increase of the nonmagnetic disorder. Detection of such a transition would prove the existence of the s± state. Here we study the temperature dependence of the London magnetic penetration depth within the two-band model for the s± and s++ superconductors. By solving Eliashberg equations accounting for the spin-fluctuation mediated pairing and nonmagnetic impurities in the T-matrix approximation, we have derived a set of specific signatures of the s± → s++ transition: (1) sharp change in the behavior of the penetration depth λL as a function of the impurity scattering rate at low temperatures; (2) before the transition, the slope of ΔλL(T) = λL(T) - λL(0) increases as a function of temperature, and after the transition this value decreases; (3) the sharp jump in the inverse square of the penetration depth as a function of the impurity scattering rate, λL-2(Γa), at the transition; (4) change from the single-gap behavior in the vicinity of the transition to the two-gap behavior upon increase of the impurity scattering rate in the superfluid density ρs(T).

Аннотация: IIrradiation of superconductors with different particles is one of many ways to investigate the effects of disorder. Here we study the disorder-induced transition between s ± and s ++ states in the two-band model for Fe-based superconductors with nonmagnetic impurities. Specifically, we investigate the important question of whether the superconducting gaps during the transition change smoothly or abruptly. We show that the behavior can be of either type and is controlled by the ratio of intraband to interband impurity scattering potentials, and by a parameter σ, that represents scattering strength and ranges from zero (Born approximation) to one (unitary limit). For the pure interband scattering potential and the scattering strength σ ≲ 0.11, the s ± → s ++ transition is accompanied by steep changes in the gaps, while for larger values of σ, the gaps change smoothly. The behavior of the gaps is characterized by steep changes at low temperatures, T˂ 0.1Tc0 with Tc0 being the critical temperature in the clean limit, otherwise it changes gradually. The critical temperature Tc is always a smooth function of the scattering rate in spite of the steep changes in the behavior of the gaps.

Аннотация: Here we study a combined effect of the spin-orbit coupling and scattering on the nonmagnetic disorder on the formation of the spin resonance peak in iron-based superconductors. Spin susceptibility is calculated within the random phase approximation. The spin resonance peak becomes broader with the increase of disorder and its frequency also shifts. At the same time, the spin response in the s state is different from that of the s++ state.

Disorder impurities and defects violating the ideal long-range order is always present in solids. It can result in interesting and sometimes unexpected effects in multiband superconductors, especially if the superconductivity is uncon-ventional, thus having symmetry other than the usual s-wave. This paper uses the examples of iron-based pnictides and chal-cogenides to examine how both nonmagnetic and magnetic impurities affect superconducting states with s± and s++ order parameters. We show that disorder causes the transition between s± and s++ states and examine what observable effects this transition can produce. © 2016 Uspekhi Fizicheskikh Nauk, Russian Academy of Sciences.

Ключевые слова (''Своб.индексиров.''): fe-based superconductors--spin resonance peak--spin-orbit coupling--impurity scattering
Аннотация: The spin resonance peak in the iron-based superconductors is observed in inelastic neutron scattering experiments and agrees well with predicted results for the extended s-wave (s±) gap symmetry. On the basis of four-band and three-orbital tight-binding models we study the effect of nonmagnetic disorder on the resonance peak. Spin susceptibility is calculated in the random-phase approximation with the renormalization of the quasiparticle self-energy due to the impurity scattering in the static Born approximation. We find that the spin resonance becomes broader with the increase of disorder and its energy shifts to higher frequencies. For the same amount of disorder the spin response in the s± state is still distinct from that of the s++ state.

Ключевые слова (''Своб.индексиров.''): strong electronic correlations--magnetic mechanism of pairing--quantum phase transitions--electronic structure--hubbard operators--cuprates
Аннотация: The multielectron LDA+GTB approach has been developed to calculate electronic structure of strongly correlated cuprates. At low energies the effective Hamiltonian of the t- t’- t”- t﬩-J*-J﬩ -model has been derived with parameters coming from the ab initio calculation for LSCO. The electronic structure of LSCO has been calculated self-consistently with the short-range antiferromagnetic order for various doping level. Two Lifshitz-type quantum phase transitions with Fermi surface topology changes have been found at dopings x(c1) = 0.15 and x(c2) = 0.24. Its effect on normal and superconducting properties has been calculated. The interatomic ex change parameter and its pressure dependence has been calculated within LDA+GTB scheme. The magnetic mechanisms of d-wave pairing induced by static and dynamical spin correlations are discussed. Simultaneous treatment of magnetic and phonon pairing results in the conclusion that both contributions are of the same order. For two layer cuprates like YBCO the interlayer hopping and exchange effects on the electronic structure and doping dependence of Tc is discussed as well as the Coulomb interaction induced mechanism of pairing.

Аннотация: We consider the spin response within the five-orbital model for iron-based superconductors and study two cases: equal and unequal gaps in different bands. In the first case, the spin resonance peak in the superconducting state appears below the characteristic energy scale determined by the gap magnitude, 2ΔL. In the second case, the energy scale corresponds to the sum of smaller and larger gap magnitudes, ΔL+ΔS. Increasing the values of the Hubbard interaction and the Hund's exchange, we observe a shift of the spin resonance energy to lower frequencies.

Аннотация: Determination of the gap symmetry is an important step towards uncovering mechanism of superconductivity in Fe-based materials. One of the key experiments in support of the s ± spin-fluctuation-mediated gap was observation of the spin-resonance peak in many pnictides and chalcogenides, see P.J. Hirschfeld et al., Rep.Prog.Phys. 74, 124508 (2011). Recently, in inelastic polarized neutron scattering measurements by Lipscombe et al., Phys.Rev. B 82, 064515 (2010), it was found that the peaks in the transverse and longitudinal components of the spin susceptibility of BaFe 1.9 Ni 0.1 As 2 exhibit rather different behavior, and argued that the true spin resonance exists in the transverse channel only. Here, on the basis of the 5-orbital model, we argue that this disparity arises from spin-orbit coupling. It also leads to the relative shift of the two component's resonance frequency with lower frequency one exhibiting larger enhancement.

Аннотация: We present a detailed study of the symmetry and structure of the pairing gap in Fe-based superconductors. We treat them as quasi-2D systems, decompose the pairing interaction into s− wave and d− wave channels and into contributions from scattering between different Fermi surfaces and analyze how each scattering evolves with doping and input parameters. We verify that each interaction is well approximated by the lowest angular harmonics and use this simplification to analyze the interplay between the interaction with and without spin-fluctuation components, the origin of the attraction in the s± and d x 2 −y 2 channels, the competition between them, the nature of angular dependence of the s± gaps along the electron Fermi surface, the conditions under which s± gap develops nodes, and the origin of superconductivity in heavily electron- or hole-doped systems, when only Fermi surfaces of one type are present. In particular, we find that with increased electron and hole doping, the competition from d− wave grows. In the case of strong hole doping, there is some ambiguity over the leading solution, but in the case of strong electron doping, d− wave emerges as clear winner.

Аннотация: We study the spin resonance in the superconducting state of iron-based materials within multiband models with two unequal gaps, Delta(L) and Delta(S), on different Fermi-surface pockets. We show that, due to the indirect nature of the gap entering the spin susceptibility at the nesting wave vector Q, the total gap (Delta) over tilde in the bare susceptibility is determined by the sum of gaps on two different Fermi-surface sheets connected by Q. For the Fermi-surface geometry characteristic of most iron pnictides and chalcogenides, the indirect gap is either (Delta) over tilde = Delta(L) + Delta(S) or (Delta) over tilde = 2 Delta(L). In the s(++) state, spin excitations below (Delta) over tilde are absent unless additional scattering mechanisms are assumed. The spin resonance appears in the s(+/-) superconducting state at frequency omega(R)

Аннотация: Disorder can result in interesting and sometimes unexpected effects in multiband superconductors. Especially if the superconductivity is unconventional like in ironbased pnictides and chalcogenides. I’m going to discuss how the impurity scattering affects superconducting states with s+- and s++ gaps, and show that disorder causes the transitions between s+- and s++ states and examine observable effects these transitions can produce.
