Аннотация: Using the single-ion approximation, the weak ferromagnetic moment σZ(Fe2+) along the third-order axis of FeBO3 crystals, which is caused by the contribution of Fe2+ ions, has been investigated in the framework of the model Fe2+ impurity ion – vacancy. The extreme low-temperature behavior of the total magnetic moment due to the strong dependence of the Fe2+ion contribution is predicted.

Аннотация: The s ± and s ++ models for the superconducting state are subject of intense studies regarding Fe-based superconductors. Depending on the parameters, disorder may leave intact or suppress T c in these models. Here, we study the special case of disorder with equal values of intra- and interband impurity potentials in the two-band s ± and s ++ models. We show that this case can be considered as an isolated point and T c there has maximal damping for a wide range of parameters.

Аннотация: Equilibrium phase relations of synthetic minerals prepared by annealing metastable iron sulfides, followed by prolonged isothermal storage in the Earth atmosphere, have been studied by X-ray diffraction. The results demonstrate that prolonged storage of synthetic pyrrhotites annealed at different temperatures makes it possible to identify metastable and stable phases of Fe and S compounds.

Аннотация: The method for investigation of the uniaxial and hexagonal anisotropies in weakly ferromagnetic rhombohedral FeBO3 crystals with the Fe2þ magnetic impurity with the use of the single-ion and pair approximation has been developed. In the framework of this method, a quantitative discrepancy between theoretical and experimental data on a uniaxial field has been eliminated. The energy contributions to the hexagonal anisotropy that are caused by the Dzyaloshinsky–Moriya interaction, the crystal field of Fe3þ ions and the temperature dependence of this anisotropy were analytically treated. The experimental temperature dependence of the hexagonal anisotropy of FeBO3 crystals is explained. It is shown that the compensation point and the typical temperature dependence of the hexagonal anisotropy result from the competition of the contributions of Fe3þ and Fe2þ ions. It is shown that respective considerable contributions to the anisotropy of Fe3þ and Fe2þ ions are made by the cubic symmetry and the uniaxial symmetry of the exchange ‘‘single-ion’’ type. The anisotropy constants for FeBO3 crystal was obtained by using the described results. It was shown, that for the calcite type structure crystals (iron borate and manganese carbonate) with S-state ions, the single ion and pair models (which previously raised doubts in their validity and accuracy) describe the experimental data good enough.

Аннотация: We study the dependence of the superconducting gaps on both the disorder and the temperature within the two-band model for iron-based materials. In the clean limit, the system is in the s± state with sign-changing gaps. Scattering by nonmagnetic impurities leads to the change of the sign of the smaller gap, resulting in a transition from the s± to the s++ state with the sign-preserving gaps. We show here that the transition is temperature-dependent. Thus, there is a line of s±→s++ transition in the temperature–disorder phase diagram. There is a narrow range of impurity scattering rates, where the disorder-induced s±→s++ transition occurs at low temperatures, but then the low-temperature s++ state transforms back to the s± state at higher temperatures. With increasing impurity scattering rate, the temperature of such s++→s± transition shifts to the critical temperature Tc, and only the s++ state is left for higher amounts of disorder.

Аннотация: The paper develops a theory of tunneling electron transport through atomic-scale systems (or briefly quantum dots) with arbitrarily strong interaction. The theory is based on a diagram technique for nonequilibrium Green’s functions defined on Hubbard operators. The use of Hubbard operators, describing many-body states of an entire quantum dot, makes it possible to represent the Hamiltonian of the quantum dot in a universal diagonal form and consider its coupling with two leads within the perturbation theory. It is shown that in the case when all Hubbard operators are defined for the same site, some rules of the diagram technique for Hubbard operators, initially developed for lattice models, have to be modified. As an example of the application of the modified theory, the current-voltage characteristics of the single-impurity Anderson model with infinitely large Coulomb repulsion are calculated. It is shown that taking into account the multiple electron tunneling processes with spin flips results in the dip in the center of the Lorentz distribution peak, describing the density of states of the one level Anderson impurity coupled with two leads. The emergence of this dip in the density of states leads to a peculiar feature in the bias voltage dependence of the differential conductivity, which can be detected experimentally.

Аннотация: The general molecular-statistical approach is proposed for the analysis or the polarized luminescence spectrum for impurity molecule of an arbitrary symmetry in the nematic liquid crystal matrix. On the particular example of uniaxial molecules the influence of features of the molecular electron structure, orientational statistics, molecular dynamics, and features of the anisotropic intermolecular coupling upon the positions of maxima v(if)(t) of impurity fluorescence polarized bands J(ij)(t) is studied. For the first time it is shown that all these factors significantly affect the degree of spectrum v(ij)(t) degeneration. For t not-equal 0, relaxation of excited impurity molecule subsystem toward the orientational distribution lifts a partial degeneration of spectrum v(ij), occuring at t not-equal 0, and renews partial or total degeneration of spectrum v(ij) in the limit t = infinity. In the lack of the spectrum v(ij) degeneration for t = 0 the relaxation may restore partial degeneration for t not-equal 0 as a function of the features of electron structure of molecules. The results of work explain the familiar experimental data on the number of independent component v(ij) and relation between them, on dependence of v(ij) upon the order of matrix and impurity subsystem, on the mutual relation in the positions of impurity band polarized component in the absorption and fluorescence spectra.

Аннотация: In the framework of the generalized tight binding method involving the strong electron correlations it is shown that in spite of the lattice regularity the impurity-like localized levels may arise within the semiconducting gap with the deviation of the electron concentration from the integer value. The appearance of these levels is due to the contribution of multi-electron excited terms into the single-particle density of states.

Аннотация: The multiband (4 x4 bands) model and its reduction to the effective two-band model taking into account the strong interaction with intermediate spin-fluctuations have been successively applied to the description of the properties of Ba1-xKxFeAs2. On the base of this approach and using the extension of the formalism developed for the multiband system MgB2 we have calculated free energy and frequency dependent optical complex conductivity \ sigma ( \omega ,T) in the superconducting as well as the normal states of pnictides. An application of the presented approach to the ellipsometry data for single crystals of Ba1-xKxFeAs2 allows to describe some experimental features connected to multigap nature and strong coupling effects. Effects of rather strong nonmagnetic impurities beyond the Born approximation which can lead to the transitions in the superconducting order parameter S+- - S++ were investigated.

Аннотация: We study optical properties of the multiband superconductors with an s В± order parameter symmetry. By comparing results of our theory with experimental data on optical conductivity for Ba0.68K 0.32Fe2As2 single crystals, we show that satisfactory description of the novel superconductors can be obtained only considering a strong electron-boson coupling. We reexamine the effect of disorder and demonstrate that multiband superconductors are more robust with respect to it than naively expected by simple analogy with paramagnetic impurities in single-band superconductors. Moreover, disorder may give rise to new effects, in particular to a phase transition s В±s ++. We discuss how the systematic study of disorder impact on the density of states and the optical conductivity may provide information on the underlying order parameter structure. Аннотация: By means of a diagram technique for Hubbard operators, we show the existence of a spin-dependent renormalization of the localized levels in an interacting region, e.g., quantum dot, modeled by the Anderson Hamiltonian with two conduction bands. It is shown that the renormalization of the levels with a given spin direction is due to kinematic interactions with the conduction subbands of the opposite spin. The consequence of this dressing of the localized levels is a drastically decreased tunneling current for ferromagnetically ordered leads compared to that of paramagnetically ordered leads. Furthermore, the studied system shows a spin-dependent resonant tunneling behavior for ferromagnetically ordered leads.
