Аннотация: Работа посвящена исследованию магнитных свойств ряда твердых растворов Ni3-xCoxB2O6 со структурой котоита, где x = 0; 0,19; 0,6; 0,93; 2. Соединения Ni3B2O6 и Co3B2O6 являются антиферромагнетиками, при этом легкая ось намагничивания в этих соединениях совпадает с кристаллографическими направлениями c и b, соответственно. Обнаружено, что в твердом растворе Ni2,81Co0,19B2O6 появляется вторая особенность в низкотемпературной области, при этом в других твердых растворах второй особенности в низкотемпературной области не наблюдается. При концентрации ионов кобальта x0,9 магнитные моменты ориентируются преимущественно вдоль оси b.

Аннотация: Левитация постоянного магнита цилиндрической формы над высокотемпературным сверхпроводником, охлаждаемым жидким азотом, сопровождается спонтанными колебаниями, переходящими во вращение. Причиной вращения является неоднородность намагниченности магнита, вызванная градиентом температур вдоль вертикальной оси. Проведен эксперимент по левитации магнитов Nd–Fe–B над композитным высокотемпературным сверхпроводником. Результаты эксперимента подтверждают, что частота вращения зависит от намагниченности верхней и нижней половин магнита. Предложены способы контроля частоты вращения левитирующего магнита.Levitation of a cylindrical permanent magnet over a high-temperature superconductor cooled by liquid nitrogen can be accompanied by spontaneous oscillations and rotation. The reason for spontaneous rotation of the magnet is magnetization inhomogeneity induced by the temperature gradient. An experiment was carried out on the levitation of Nd–Fe–B magnets over a composite high-temperature superconductor. The experimental results confirm that the rotation frequency depends on the difference in the magnetization values in its upper and lower halves of the magnet. Methods for controlling the rotation frequency of a levitating magnet are proposed.

Аннотация: Flux-Pinning Docking Interfaces (FPDI) in satellite systems were developed using bulk superconductors and permanent magnets in previous works. However, such FPDIs have limited magnetic field strength, consist of heavy-weight material, and can only be used with a single purpose, i.e., as chasing or docking satellite. Replacing the magnetic material in the FPDI by a trapped field (TF)-magnet would enable the interface to operate for both purposes, i.e., generating a (stronger) magnetic field and trapping it. We show the requirements for such a system and discuss the possible gains when using a TF-FPDI in satellites. To reduce the system weight, the use of superconducting foams as superconducting material is discussed in detail. Furthermore, the use of superconducting foams, the size of which can be easily upscaled, may also comprise the function of the damping material, so even more weight could be saved for the payload.

Аннотация: An analytical solution for the spin-wave spectrum of the two-sublattice 1D magnet with SA = SB = 1 and twisting easy planes has been obtained. Such planes are mutually twisted by an angle φ relative to each other. For the case of mutually orthogonal easy planes φ = π/2, the spectrum vs. quasi-momentum dependence has been compared with that of an easy-axis magnet with the easy axis aligned along the line of intersection of the planes. An analogy of the spectra of the models has been shown, indicating the possibility of the effective easy axis anisotropy in easy-plane two-sublattice single-chain magnets.

Аннотация: Magnets derived from inorganic materials (e.g., oxides, rare-earth–based, and intermetallic compounds) are key components of modern technological applications. Despite considerable success in a broad range of applications, these inorganic magnets suffer several drawbacks, including energetically expensive fabrication, limited availability of certain constituent elements, high density, and poor scope for chemical tunability. A promising design strategy for next-generation magnets relies on the versatile coordination chemistry of abundant metal ions and inexpensive organic ligands. Following this approach, we report the general, simple, and efficient synthesis of lightweight, molecule-based magnets by postsynthetic reduction of preassembled coordination networks that incorporate chromium metal ions and pyrazine building blocks. The resulting metal-organic ferrimagnets feature critical temperatures up to 242°C and a 7500-oersted room-temperature coercivity.

Аннотация: The inertial dynamics of magnetization in a ferromagnet is investigated theoretically. The analytically derived dynamic response upon microwave excitation shows two peaks: ferromagnetic and nutation resonances. The exact analytical expressions of frequency and linewidth of the magnetic nutation resonance are deduced from the frequency-dependent susceptibility determined by the inertial Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. The study shows that the dependence of nutation linewidth on the Gilbert precession damping has a minimum, which becomes more expressive with increase of the applied magnetic field.

Аннотация: Superconducting foams of YBa2Cu3Oy (YBCO) are proposed as trapped field magnets or supermagnets. The foams with an open-porous structure are light-weight, mechanically strong and can be prepared in large sample sizes. The trapped field distributions were measured using a scanning Hall probe on various sides of an YBCO foam sample after field-cooling in a magnetic field of 0.5 T produced by a square Nd-Fe-B permanent magnet. The maximum trapped field (TF) measured is about 400 G (77 K) at the bottom of the sample. Several details of the TF distribution, the current flow and possible applicatons of such superconducting foam samples in space applications, e.g., as active elements in flux-pinning docking interfaces (FPDI) or as portable strong magnets to collect debris in space, are outlined.

Аннотация: Rapidly increasing demand for high-energy permanent magnets and volatility of the rear-earth market encourage a search of hard magnetic materials that can compete with those based on the Nd2Fe14B phase. Sm-Fe compounds with the ThMn12-type crystal structure are considered as promising candidates for it. However, their synthesis and achievement of theoretically predicted magnetic properties are still challenging tasks that have not been solved yet. This paper addresses this problem. Its aim was to synthesize and to study magnetic properties of the (Sm0.9Zr0.1)Fe11Ti compound with ThMn12-type structure. Initially amorphous alloy was obtained by melt spinning and its subsequent heat treatments were performed. Structural and phase transformations of the (Sm0.9Zr0.1)Fe11Ti alloy with annealing temperatures were studied along with magnetic properties. For the optimally annealed alloy features of magnetization reversal were discussed and temperature dependences of coercivity and maximum energy product were obtained.

Аннотация: An exact solution for a generalized Ising model describing single-chain magnet {[FeIII(Tp*)(CN)3]2FeII(bpmh)}·2H2O with alternating high-spin and low-spin iron ions and double-zigzag magnetic topology has been calculated making use of the transfer-matrix technique. The introduction of a statistical ensemble taking into account the presence of iron ions with high-spin (HS) and low-spin (LS) states made it possible to describe the modification of magnetic susceptibility under optical irradiation. It has been shown that joint implementation of iron ions with photoinduced magnetic states and non-magnetic intersite repulsion ions of these states is caused by the difference of the ionic radii of HSFeIIHSFeII and LSFeIILSFeII leads to the quantum phase transitions in the system.

This law is consistent with the known laws derived within perturbation theory in extreme cases, but it describes the transition mode between the power-low asymptotic regimes better. Аннотация: Various manifestations of the exchange interaction effects in magnetization curves of the CoPt nanostructured particles are demonstrated and discussed. The inter-grain exchange constant A in the sponge-like agglomerates of crystallites is estimated as A=(7±1) pJ/m from the approach magnetization to saturation curves that is in good agreement with A=(6.6±0.5) pJ/m obtained from Bloch T 3/2 law. The fractal dimensionality of the exchange coupled crystallite system in the porous media of the disordered CoPt alloy d=(2.60±0.18) was estimated from the approach magnetization to saturation curve. Coercive force decreases with temperature as Hc~T 3/2 which is assumed to be a consequence of the magnetic anisotropy energy reduction due to the thermal spin wave excitations in the investigated CoPt particles. © 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rightsreserved.Демонстрируются и обсуждаются различные проявления эффектов обменного взаимодействия в кривых намагниченности наноструктуированных частиц CoPt. Межзеренная обменная константа А в агломератах губчатой структуры кристаллитов оценивается как /A/=(7±1) pJ/m из кривых приближения намагниченности к насыщению, это значение находится в хорошем согласии с /A/=(6.6±0.5) pJ/m, полученным из закона /T/. /2 Блоха. Размерность фрактала обменно-соединенных кристаллических систем в пористой среды неупорядоченного сплава CoPt /d/=(2.60±0.18) оценивалась из кривых приближения намагниченности к насыщению. Коэрцитивная сила уменьшается с температурой по закону /H_c /~/T/. /2 , который, как предполагается, есть следствие уменьшения энергии магнитной анизотропии из-за теплового возбуждения спиновых волн в изучаемых частицах CoPt.

Аннотация: Samples of all the tailings from enrichment processes at the Abagur plant operated by OAO Evrazruda are studied. The tailings are subjected to magnetic and chemical analysis, and the magnetic characteristics of the products are measured. The mean magnetite iron content in the tailings was about 0.9% in 2013. Experiments confirm that the main magnetite losses are associated with small classes and their poor magnetic properties. The losses of magnetite are reduced as the separation field is increased. At the plant, 45% of the barium–ferrite magnetic systems in the PBM 90/250 separators have been replaced by a system based on neodymium–iron–boron composites, with increase in the field from 111 to 175 kA/m. Modernization of the magnetic systems in all the separators at the Abagur plant is recommended. In thickening, the installation of separators for regeneration of the suspensions, with a field of 190 kA/m, is recommended. Аннотация: We have developed the spin wave theory of Heisenberg magnets with strong single-ion anisotropy of arbitrary symmetry with two and more sublattices. Using this approach, the low-temperature magnetic properties of the single-chain magnet catena- [FeII(ClO4)2FeIII(bpca)2](ClO4) with four sublattices and twisting mutually orthogonal easy plane have been calculated. It has been shown that the modulation of the easy planes directions creates on the one hand the low-temperature excitation spectrum similar to the one of the Ising models, and on the other hand strong spin fluctuations.

Аннотация: The exitation spectrum of a ferrimagnetic Heisenberg chain with four sublattices and twisting mutually ortoghonal easy planes is calculated using a diagram technique of atomic representation. It is shown that at low temperatures, the exitation spectrum of elementary excitations of the system is similar to the spectrum of a magnet with an effective easy-axis type anisotropy directed along the line of easy plane intersection. © 2015, Allerton Press, Inc.

Аннотация: The dispersion equation of a strongly anisotropic one-dimensional magnet catena-[FeII(ClO4)2{FeIII(bpca)2}]ClO4 containing alternating high-spin (HS) (S = 2) and low-spin (LS) (S = 1/2) iron ions is obtained by the diagram technique for Hubbard operators. The analysis of this equation yields six branches in the excitation spectrum of this magnet. It is important that the crystal field for ions with spin S = 2 is described by the Hamiltonian of single-ion easy-plane anisotropy, whose orientation is changed by 90° when passing from one HS iron ion to another. The U(N) transformation technique in the atomic representation is applied to diagonalize a single-ion Hamiltonian with a large number of levels. It is shown that the modulation of the orientation of easy magnetization planes leads to a model of a ferrimagnet with easy-axis anisotropy and to the formation of energy spectrum with a large gap. For HS iron ions, a decrease in the mean value of the spin projection due to quantum fluctuations is calculated. The analysis of the specific features of the spectrum of elementary excitations allows one to establish a correspondence to a generalized Ising model for which the magnetic susceptibility is calculated in a wide range of temperatures by the transfer-matrix method. The introduction of a statistical ensemble that takes into account the presence of chains of different lengths and the presence of iron ions with different spins allows one to describe the experimentally observed modification of the magnetic susceptibility of the magnet under optical irradiation.

Аннотация: The effect of copper on the properties of magnets (Pr0.52Dy0.48)13(Fe65Co0.35)80.3 - xCuxB6.7 (x = 0-10) has been studied. Alloying with copper is shown to decrease the sintering temperature and to increase the content of the principal (Pr,Dy)2(Fe,Co)14B magnetic phase. For compositions with x = 1.3-3.3, copper is found to affect the value and sign of the temperature induction coefficient (TIC). It is shown that the effect of copper on the TIC is determined by the substitution of copper ions for iron ions in lattice sites, which are coupled via an antiferromagnetic exchange interaction. © 2014 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Аннотация: A comparative multitechnique study (including transmission electron microscopy, synchrotron radiation, static magnetisation, magnetic circular dichroism and electron magnetic resonance) has been carried out of nanoparticle-containing borate glasses of two different types: (i) with iron and manganese oxide additives and (ii) with iron and rare earth oxide additives. Due to the presence of magnetic nanoparticles, these glasses have a nonlinear magnetic field dependence of magnetization with hysteresis and saturation while remaining transparent in the visible and near-infrared spectral ranges. The nature of the nanoparticles has been identified as manganese ferrite for type (i) glasses and maghemite for type (ii) glasses. The synchrotron radiation studies as well as the computer-assisted electron magnetic resonance provide an insight into the morphological characteristics of the magnetic nanoparticles in the glass.
