Аннотация: Chemical unit cosubstitution is an effective strategy to regulate the luminescence properties of phosphors, and it has attracted huge attention in the last few years. Following the design principles of the match of effective ion radius, atomic valence equilibrium and stoichiometric substitution, the local structure of crystal can be well customized, which is beneficial to develop high-performance luminescent materials. In this work, Mg2+-Sn4+ sites were cosubstituted by Zn2+-Ti4+ ion pairs in Mg2SnO4: Cr3+, respectively, and the emission spectra was successfully serially tuned from broad-band to narrow-band along with a unique variation trend of blue shift first and then slightly red shift. The photoluminescence excitation (PLE), photoluminescence (PL) spectra, lifetime decay, Raman spectra and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) were used to analyze the mechanism of luminescence tuning. Based on the manipulation of local structure, the as-observed distinct luminescence tuning can be well understood by the crystal field theory, nephelauxetic effect and changed Cr3+ capacity in this phosphor. Moreover, the adjusted narrow-band far-red emission spectra peak at 732 nm, matching the characteristic absorption of plant phytochrome PFR, has broad application prospects in the field of plant growth lighting. In addition, light-regulated dwarf potted tomato experiments were carried out to verify the application of far-red light in plant growth.

Аннотация: The possibility of implementing a quantum-spin-liquid-type state in a two-layer triangular spin-1/2 antiferromagnet at T = 0 is investigated. The ratio of intra- to interlayer exchange constants (j) is found under which a transition from the classical state with 120 degrees triangular order to a quantum state with zero magnetization per site occurs; in this case, the spins of adjacent layers form singlets that are separated from triplet excitations by an energy gap. Compared with an analogous system with the square lattice, the range of j in which the classical ordered state is realized turns out to be an order of magnitude smaller due to the effects of frustration; in this case, the behavior of thermodynamic quantities is analogous, on the whole, to that in two-layer square lattices; a difference manifests itself in the behavior of the gap in the spectrum of quasiparticles in an external magnetic field h. For small fields h, a j-h phase diagram is constructed that determines the domains in which the 120 degrees and the singlet phases exist. It is established that, in the neighborhood of the second-order phase transition, the contribution, to the thermodynamic quantities, of longitudinal spin fluctuations, which are disregarded in the spin-wave description, is comparable to the contribution of transverse fluctuations. Аннотация: A one-dimensional ZrO2/SiO2 photonic crystal with a 4-n -pentyl-4'-cyanobiphenyl (5CB) nematic defect layer was used to investigate the transmission spectra of light polarized parallel and perpendicular to the liquid-crystal director at different angles of incidence. The spectra of the photonic crystal were shown to split into four polarized components T-ij at oblique incidence. When the incident angle increased, the bandgap edges and the defect modes shifted towards short wavelengths, while the amplitudes of the defect modes increased for the transverse magnetic polarization and decreased for the transverse electric polarization. The observed discrepancy between the defect mode amplitudes in the center and near the edges of the photonic bandgap was found to be related to the radiation losses inside the defect layer of a non-ideal photonic crystal. The simulated transmission spectra obtained using recurrence relations and taking into account the decay of defect modes are in good agreement with the experimental data.

Аннотация: The effect of Kerr nonlinearity on the transmission of laser radiation in a one-dimensional photonic crystal has been investigated by the transfer-matrix method, modified to describe nonlinear effects. The crystal under study is a thin-film multilayer structure with a spatial distribution of the refractive index, which makes it possible to eliminate side bands in the transmission spectrum at each side of the photonic band gap and significantly increase the slope of the transmission curve. The transmission spectrum of such a photonic crystal structure has been studied for two opposite directions of laser radiation propagation. The anisotropy of nonlinear transmission is most pronounced near the edge of the photonic crystal band gap, which lies in the near-IR region. The proposed structure, having strong transmission anisotropy and sufficiently low reflection in the forward direction, can operate as an optical diode (analog of an electron diode). Аннотация: We discuss the mechanisms of unconventional superconductivity and superfluidity in 3D and 2D fermionic systems with purely repulsive interaction at low densities. We construct phase diagrams of these systems and find the areas of the superconducting state in free space, as well as on the lattice in the framework of the Fermi-gas model with hard-core repulsion, the Hubbard model, the Shubin-Vonsovsky model, and the t-J model. We demonstrate that the critical superconducting temperature can be greatly increased in the spin-polarized case or in a two-band situation already at low densities. The proposed theory is based on the Kohn-Luttinger mechanism or its generalizations and explains or predicts anomalous p-, d-, and f-wave pairing in various materials, such as high-temperature superconductors, the idealized monolayer and bilayer of doped graphene, heavy-fermion systems, layered organic superconductors, superfluid 3He, spin-polarized 3He mixtures in 4He, ultracold quantum gases in magnetic traps, and optical lattices.

Аннотация: The concentration dependence of the entropy of doped Mott-Hubbard insulators has been considered within the t-J model. It has been shown that a change in the type and statistics of charge carriers as compared to the Fermi gas leads to a radical change in the entropy s, in particular, to the giant growth of the entropy upon doping. The quantity a,s/a,x a parts per thousand k (B) is approximately consistent with the experimental data for HTSC cuprates in the pseudogap phase.

Аннотация: A procedure is developed for a correct transition to the Bose representation for quantum SU(3) Hamiltonians. The analysis is carried out for a spin nematic by applying the indefinite metric formalism and pseudo-Hubbard operators. An important aspect of the theory is that the finiteness of the number of physical states is taken into account. This is attained by introducing and consistently taking into account the metric operator for which purpose a simple expression in terms of Bose operators is suggested. It is shown that in this approach the quantum Bose analog of the Hamiltonian is an Hermitian operator. This circumstance removes a number of principle contradictions which appeared previously on application of the Bose analog of the Hamiltonian derived by virtually identifying the Hubbard and pseudo-Hubbard operators and ignoring the finiteness of the number of physical states. The integral equations defining the chief characteristics of the system are obtained and solved analytically for the spin-nematic state of a magnet with S = 1 and by taking into account anharmonic effects. This permits one to write down in nonlinear theory explicit expressions for the two branches of the quantum excitation spectrum. The character of the renormalization of the spectrum parameters due to the presence of zero-point quantum oscillations is studied. The renormalization of the critical field on transition of the system from the spin nematic state is calculated analytically.

Аннотация: This paper considers hardware and software for automated analysis of thin magnetic film ferroresonance spectrum to determine the rate of growth and decrease in ferroresonance spectrum (conversion factor parameter). The measuring element of automated system is the strip line which is short-circuited. The measuring unit is used to study Ni 80 Fe 20 permalloy films, with thickness of more than 300 Å. Conversion factor, magnetic permeability μ, uniaxial magnetic anisotropy, ferromagnetic spectrum resonance line width, saturation magnetization are analyzed from 50 MHz to 2 GHz frequency range. The magnetic films are used to design frequency selective filters, phase shifters and weak-field magnetic sensors. The thin magnetic film sensors are high sensitive magnetometers, with wide frequency range, low dimensions and weight [1]. © 2019 IEEE.

Аннотация: We consider light scattering by two-dimensional arrays of high-index dielectric spheres arranged into a triangular lattice. It is demonstrated that in the case of a triple degeneracy of resonant leaky modes in the gamma point, the scattering spectra exhibit a complicated picture of Fano resonances with extremely narrow linewidth. The Fano features are explained through coupled-mode theory for a Dirac cone spectrum as a signature of optical bound states in the continuum (BIC). It is found that the standing wave in-gamma BIC induces a ring of off-gamma BICs due to different scaling laws for real and imaginary parts of the resonant eigenfrequencies in the Dirac cone spectrum. A quantitative theory of the spectra is proposed.

Аннотация: We report on the emergence of new lines in the optical spectrum of the PrFe3(BO3)(4) single crystal at the magnetic ordering temperature. The transitions between singlet crystal-field sublevels of Pr3+ ion with the same transformational properties, strictly forbidden for the trigonal D-3 point symmetry of this ion in PrFe3(BO3)(4), appear below the Neel temperature and grow in intensity as a square of the order parameter. We show that the phenomenon originates from the mixing of wave functions of different Pr3+ sublevels by the Pr-Fe exchange interaction.

Аннотация: The phonon dispersion and Raman spectrum of the PbMnBO4 ferromagnetic crystal have been calculated within the density functional theory. Imaginary phonon branches have been observed at the points Y, Z, and Г and along the X–S direction of the Brillouin zone, which indicates structural instability and a possible phase transition with variation in external factors (temperature and pressure). The shapes of vibrations and symmetry types of the normal modes of the crystal at the center of the Brillouin zone have been determined. The calculation results are compared with the experimental and theoretical spectra from other studies. It is shown that the vibrational mode of highest intensity at 692.5 cm–1 in the spectrum and the mode at 272.3 cm–1, corresponding to the experimental modes at 690.5 and 224.7 cm–1, are bending vibrations of oxygen atoms in distorted MnO6 octahedra.

Аннотация: On the basis of extended periodic Anderson model with anti ferromagnetic (AFM) exchange and s-f exchange interactions the energy spectrum of heavy-fermion (HF) AFM metals is calculated. The quasiparticle band structure in collinear AFM phase is described by four splitted bands one of which is very narrow (order of exchange interaction constant) and lies in the vicinity of a localized level. Application of an external magnetic field causes a canting of the sublattice magnetization and due to s-f exchange interaction strongly modifies the HF band picture. Thus eight different quasiparticle bands appear. Their evolution when temperature and magnetic field change is studied. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
