Аннотация: The flux phase solutions in the t-J model the gauge theories with Chern-Simons term, promising new exciting physics, are so far obtained only within slave-boson (or fermion) approaches, where local gauge invariance is not taken into account exactly. We inspect the possibility to do this, mainly, in the example of the t-J model The analysis of different parametrizations in the functional representation shows that (i) calculations which take into account constraints for the number of on-site-available states are describing quasiparticles in terms of the wrong local statistics, and contain gauge non-invariant objects; (ii) application of the projection technique in the slave-boson(fermion) representation reproduces the correct statistics, and is exactly equivalent to the conventional diagram technique for Hubbard operators. In the language of slave bosons this means that the Fourier transformation leading to Bloch states should be made only after accounting constraints in the measure of functional integral.

Аннотация: An approximation dependence of the spontaneous magnetic moment at a site, sigma/sigma(0) - 1 = 0.71(6)delta(2.5(2)), and the antiferromagnet-singlet state phase boundary, J(2)/J(1) = 0.52(3)delta, are determined by the quantum Monte Carlo method in the self-consistent sublattice molecular field approximation for weakly interacting (J(2)) antiferromagnetic chains with spin S = 1/2 and alternating exchange interaction (J(1) +/- delta). The Neel temperature and a number of critical temperatures which could be related with the filling energy of two singlets (Delta S-z = 0) and one triplet (Delta S-z= 1) spin bands, each of which is split by the sublattice field (h(x,y)not equal h(z)) into two subbands, are determined on the basis of the computed correlation radii of the two- and four-spin correlation function, the squared total spin (S-z)(2) with respect to the longitudinal components, the dimerization parameter, and the correlation functions between the nearest neighbors with respect to longitudinal and transverse spin components. On the basis of the Monte Carlo calculations, the critical temperatures and possible energy gaps at the band center are determined for the antiferromagnets CuWO4 and Bi2CuO4 and for the singlet compounds (VO)(2)P2O7 and CuGeO3 , agreeing satisfactorily with existing results, and new effects are also predicted. Аннотация: The magnetic ground state of CuB2O4 is incommensurate at T = 1.8 K and undergoes a continuous phase transition to a noncollinear commensurate antiferromagnetic state at T* similar to 10 K. Close to T* higher-order magnetic satellites are observed. Coexistence of long- and short-range magnetic order is observed in both magnetic phases. This suggests that the association of the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction and anisotropy leads to the formation of a magnetic soliton lattice.

Аннотация: For circular quantum dot (QD), taking into account the Razhba spin-orbit interaction (SOI), an exact energy spectrum is obtained. For a small SOI constant, the eigenfunctions of the QD are found. It is shown that the application of a radiation field with circular polarization removes the Kramers degeneracy of the QD eigenstates. Effective spin polarization of electrons transmitted through the QD owing to a radiation field with circular polarization is demonstrated. (C) 2001 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".

Аннотация: This paper reports on measurements of the specific heat of Pb2CdWO6 made at temperatures ranging from 80 to 750 K and of Pb2YbTaO6 within the 350- to 700-K temperature range. First-order phase transitions from the cubic phase at 677.3 and 581 K, respectively, were observed, and their thermodynamic characteristics were determined. The entropy change on the phase transitions is close to Rln4 for both compounds. The results obtained are discussed in terms of the model of position disordering of the lead ions. It was established that below 350 K, Pb2CdWO6 can exist in two states, stable and metastable, depending on the sample thermal prehistory. (C) 2002 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".

Аннотация: We show that the wave function and current statistics in chaotic Robnik billiards crucially depend on the constant of the spin-orbit interaction (SOI). For small constant the current statistics is described by universal current distributions derived for slightly opened chaotic billiards [Saichev et al. J. Phys. A. 35, L87 (2002)] although one of the components of the spinor eigenfunctions is not universal. For strong SOI both components of the spinor eigenstate are complex random Gaussian fields. This observation allows us to derive the distributions of spin-orbit persistent cut-rents which well describe numerical statistics. For intermediate values of the statistics of the eigenstates and currents, both are deeply nonuniversal.

Аннотация: Three types of optical magnetic-field induced second harmonic (MFISH) generation are observed in CuB2O4. Unusually sharp and intense electronic transitions in MFISH and linear absorption spectra provide selective access to the two nonequivalent Cu2+ sublattices. The magnetic phase diagram for both sublattices is determined by MFISH. Magnetic structure is dominated by antiferromagnetic order at the 4b site. Sublattice interactions transfer it to the 8d site where it coexists with a discoupled paramagnetic component.

Аннотация: Magnetoelectric interactions have been investigated in a single crystal of gadolinium iron borate GdFe3(BO3)(4), whose macroscopic symmetry is characterized by the crystal class 32. Using the results of this study, the interplay of magnetic and electric orderings occurring in the system has been experimentally revealed and theoretically substantiated. The electric polarization and magnetostriction of this material that arise in spin-reorientation transitions induced by a magnetic field have been investigated experimentally. For H parallel to c and H perpendicular to c, H-T phase diagrams have been constructed, and a strict correlation between the changes in the magnetoelectric and magnetoelastic properties in the observed phase transitions has been ascertained. A mechanism of specific noncollinear antiferroelectric ordering at the structural phase transition point was proposed to interpret the magnetoelectric behavior of the system within the framework of the symmetry approach in the entire temperature range. This ordering provides the conservation of the crystal class of the system when the temperature decreases to the antiferroelectric ordering point. The expressions that have been obtained for the magnetoelectric and magnetoelastic energy describe reasonably well the behavior of gadolinium iron borate observed experimentally. Аннотация: It is shown that non-Heisenberg exchange interaction should be taken into account to reproduce the magnetic phase diagram of La(1-x)A(x)MnO(3) (A = Ca, Sr) using only effective exchange parameters and spins. The formation of the four-spin exchange arises from carrier hopping and coincides with the critical concentration metal-dielectric transition. The two- and four-spin exchange parameters are determined by Monte Carlo simulations.

Аннотация: The transport properties of a novel foamed superconductor Bi1.8Pb0.3Sr1.9Ca2Cu3Ox have been studied. As the analysis of resistive transitions in a magnetic field shows, the dissipation follows a thermally activated flux creep model with the temperature- independent pinning potential in S-N-S-type Josephson junctions.

Аннотация: The S matrix theory with use of the effective Hamiltonian is sketched and applied to the description of the transmission through double quantum dots. The effective Hamilton operator is non-hermitian, its eigenvalues are complex, the eigenfunctions are bi-orthogonal. In this theory, singularities occur at points where two (or more) eigenvalues of the effective Hamiltonian coalesce. These points are physically meaningful: they separate the scenario of avoided level crossings from that without any crossings in the complex plane. They are branch points in the complex plane. Their geometrical features are different from those of the diabolic points.

Аннотация: The exchange mechanism effect on the ordering of electrons on e(g) orbitals in a two-dimensional Heisenberg model with exchange anisotropy for a S = 1/2 spin is determined. The regions of existence of long-range quasi-one- and two-dimensional antiferromagnetic order with the special exchange topology are calculated by a quantum Monte Carlo method. The Neel temperature and quantum reduction of spin on site for an antiferromagnet with the stripe structure is estimated as a function of exchange anisotropy.

Аннотация: Deformation and the thermal expansion coefficient of ceramic samples of (Ba1 - x La (x) )Ti1 - x/4O3 solid solutions (x = 0, 0.026, 0.036, 0.054) were studied in the temperature range 120-700 K. Based on an analysis of the data obtained, the temperature-composition phase diagram is refined, and the temperature dependence of the polarization is calculated. The results are discussed in combination with the dielectric measurement data.

Аннотация: We report on the emergence of new lines in the optical spectrum of the PrFe3(BO3)(4) single crystal at the magnetic ordering temperature. The transitions between singlet crystal-field sublevels of Pr3+ ion with the same transformational properties, strictly forbidden for the trigonal D-3 point symmetry of this ion in PrFe3(BO3)(4), appear below the Neel temperature and grow in intensity as a square of the order parameter. We show that the phenomenon originates from the mixing of wave functions of different Pr3+ sublevels by the Pr-Fe exchange interaction.

Аннотация: The aim of the work is to elucidate the origin of magnetization presence in austenitic Fe86Mn13C steel after dynamic loading. The observation of microstructures in the region of transition from FCC austenitic Fe86Mn13C steel to FK12 + FK14 type of Frank-Kasper tetrahedral close packed structure is described. We used the methods of optical microscopy, electron microscopy, electron diffraction and X-ray-diffraction to investigate the phase transition region. Changes of local magnetization were estimated by induction method. To explain the magnetization origin of the sample consisting of austenite grains and intergranular layers, which have Frank-Kasper's structure (FK12 + FK14) typical of beta-Fe-Mn, the local electronic structure has been investigated for intergranular layers. The local electron structure of FK12 and FK14 clusters have been simulated by method of self-consistent field to understand the nature of non-zero magnetization of the Fe87Mn13 alloy exposed by shock deformation. It was shown, that numbers of states with upward and downward spins are not equal. Therefore the occurrence of magnetization is possible. (c) 2009 Published by Elsevier Ltd

Аннотация: Magnetization of the cation-substituted CoxMn1-xS sulfides upon cooling in zero and 100 Oe magnetic fields at the temperatures 4-300 K has been measured. Permittivity of these materials at frequencies from 1 to 100 kHz in magnetic and dc electric fields in the 100-300 K temperature range has been determined. Change in the dielectric permittivity under an external magnetic field is found to have a maximum in the temperature ranges of T-1 similar to (110-120 K) and T-2 similar to (230-250 K). Formation of spontaneous magnetic moment and the rise of magnetic susceptibility are revealed at the same temperatures in the CoxMn1-xS solid solutions. Features of the magnetoelectric properties of the sulfides have been explained by orbital ordering.

Аннотация: The strain, the thermal expansion coefficient, and the permittivity of ceramic samples of (Ba1 - x Bi-2x/3)TiO3 solid solutions with x = 0, 0.01, 0.03, and 0.05 have been studied in the temperature range 120-700 K. Based on an analysis of the results, the temperature-composition phase diagram has been refined, and the temperature dependence of the polarization has been calculated.

Аннотация: The current-voltage characteristics of a porous superconductor Bi(2)Sr(2)Ca(2)Cu(3)O (x) (Bi2223) have been measured at temperatures in the range from 10 to 90 K in magnetic fields of 0-80 kOe. The experimental dependences have been analyzed within the model allowing for pinning by clusters of a normal phase with fractal boundaries, as well as the model taking into account phase transformations of vortex matter. It has been found that the electrical resistance of the superconductor material significantly increases at temperatures of 60-70 K over the entire range of magnetic fields under consideration without changing in the sign of the curvature of the dependence R(I). It has been assumed that this behavior is associated with the specific feature of the pinning in a highly porous high-temperature superconductor, which lies in the fractality of the distribution of pinning centers in a wide range of self-similarity scales. The studied material at the aforementioned temperatures is characterized by the melting of the vortex structure.

Аннотация: The numerical simulation of the behavior of the molecules of the DOBAMBC liquid crystal by the molecular dynamics method allowed us to find the change of the the conformation of molecules as a function of temperature and to reveal the helical structures with various pitches in the smectic phase C*. These results explained the anomalous temperature dependences of the order parameter at the molecular level, as well as the optical second harmonic generation in the region of smectic A.
