Аннотация: The behavior of eigenfrequencies of an irregular microstrip resonator, being an integral part of the one-dimensional photonic crystal (PC) with two sublattices, is investigated as a function of its design parameters. The possibility of a significant increase of the second band gap of the PC with two sublattices is demonstrated that essentially improves the frequency selection properties of the bandpass filters designed on its basis. Good agreement between the calculated results and measurements with the prototype of the original filter built around the microstrip photonic crystal of new design comprising 19 layers is demonstrated. Аннотация: Исследовано поведение собственных частот нерегулярного микрополоскового резонатора от его конструктивных параметров, являющегося элементом одномерного двухподрешеточного фотонного кристалла (ФК). Показана возможность значительного увеличения ширины второй запрещенной зоны в двухподрешеточном ФК, что существенно улучшает частотно-селективные свойства полосно-пропускающих фильтров на его основе. Демонстрируется хорошее согласие расчета с результатами измерений на опытном образце оригинального фильтра, построенного на новой конструкции микрополоскового фотонного кристалла, состоящего из 19 «слоев».

Аннотация: We demonstrate that a magnetic tunnel structure irradiated by microwaves can generate a significant voltage signal due to the rectification effect. The measurements were carried out using current-in-plane geometry with a current flowing parallel to the interfaces in the structure. A value of the microwave-induced voltage strongly depends on a bias current and can be driven by a magnetic field. The rectification effect is discussed both in "Classical" terms of nonlinearity of the current-voltage characteristic and using a mechanism that involves the interplay between the spinpolarized current and magnetization dynamics in the magnetic tunnel structure. Аннотация: The dielectric spectra of moist specimens of bentonitic clay are measured within the frequency range from 1 to 15 GHz at positive and negative temperatures. The phase transitions in different types of water present in the clay specimen are investigated in the process of its freezing. The parameters of dielectric relaxation and conductivity of different water types in the specimen are determined. A thermal dielectric model for thawed and frozen bentonitic clay is developed.

Аннотация: This paper reports on a joint theoretical and experimental study of the Pauli quantum-mechanical stress tensor T(alpha beta)(x,y) for open two-dimensional chaotic billiards. In the case of a finite current flow through the system the interior wave function is expressed as psi=u + iv. With the assumption that u and v are Gaussian random fields we derive analytic expressions for the statistical distributions for the quantum stress tensor components T(alpha beta). The Gaussian random field model is tested for a Sinai billiard with two opposite leads by analyzing the scattering wave functions obtained numerically from the corresponding Schrodinger equation. Two-dimensional quantum billiards may be emulated from planar microwave analogs. Hence we report on microwave measurements for an open two-dimensional cavity and how the quantum stress tensor analog is extracted from the recorded electric field. The agreement with the theoretical predictions for the distributions for T(alpha beta)(x,y) is quite satisfactory for small net currents. However, a distinct difference between experiments and theory is observed at higher net flow, which could be explained using a Gaussian random field, where the net current was taken into account by an additional plane wave with a preferential direction and amplitude.

Аннотация: We show that the wave function and current statistics in chaotic Robnik billiards crucially depend on the constant of the spin-orbit interaction (SOI). For small constant the current statistics is described by universal current distributions derived for slightly opened chaotic billiards [Saichev et al. J. Phys. A. 35, L87 (2002)] although one of the components of the spinor eigenfunctions is not universal. For strong SOI both components of the spinor eigenstate are complex random Gaussian fields. This observation allows us to derive the distributions of spin-orbit persistent cut-rents which well describe numerical statistics. For intermediate values of the statistics of the eigenstates and currents, both are deeply nonuniversal.

Аннотация: Transport through quantum and microwave cavities is studied by analytic and numerical techniques. In particular, we consider the statistics for a finite net probability current (Poynting vector) flowing through an open ballistic Sinai billiard to which two opposite leads/wave guides are attached. We show that if the net probability current is small, the scattering wave function inside the billiard is well approximated by a Gaussian random complex field. In this case, the current statistics are universal and obey simple analytic forms. For larger net currents, these forms still apply over several orders of magnitudes. However, small characteristic deviations appear in the tail regions. Although the focus is on electron and microwave billiards, the analysis is relevant also to other classical wave cavities as, for example, open planar acoustic reverberation rooms, elastic membranes, and water surface waves in irregularly shaped vessels.

Аннотация: We consider the statistics of currents for electron (microwave) transmission through rectangular and circular billiards. For the resonant transmission the current distribution is describing by the universal distribution [ A. I. Saichev , J. Phys. A 35, L87 (2002) ]. For the more typical case of nonresonant transmission the current statistics reveals features of the current channeling (corridor effect) interior of the billiard. The numerical statistics is compared with analytical distributions.

Аннотация: Changes in the properties of brown Kansk-Achinsk coal after exposure to microwaves have been studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electron magnetic resonance (EMR). The size composition of the samples has been investigated. The structure of coal has been found to be similar to the structure of multicomponent organic glass. The analysis of the changes in the EMR spectra of the coal samples (300 K, 83 K) exposed to microwaves has been found to gather information about the structural transformation taking place in the coal matter.

Аннотация: We consider acoustic wave transmission in a non-axisymmetric waveguide composed of a cylindrical resonator of radius R and length L and two cylindrical waveguides of radius rR. The center lines of the waveguides are shifted relative to the center line of the resonator by a distance r0 and relative to each other by an azimuthal angle Δϕ. Under variation of L and fixed Δϕ we find bound states in the continuum (trapped modes) due to full destructive interference of resonant modes leaking into waveguides. Rotation by the angle Δϕ brings complex phases into the coupling strengths of the resonator eigenmodes with propagating modes of the waveguides. As the result interference of neighboring resonances strongly depends on rotation of the waveguide introducing novel way for tuning Fano resonances. In turn rotation of the input waveguide strongly affect the acoustic transmission through the resonator imitating a faucet in wave transmission. Under variation of Δϕ and fixed L we find symmetry protected trapped modes. For Δϕ≠0 these trapped modes contribute to the scattering function supporting high vortical acoustic intensity spinning inside the resonator.
