Аннотация: A role of quadric and quartic single-ion anisotropy (SIA) of Mn3+-ions, dipole–dipole and Dzyaloshinsky–Moriya (DM) interactions for the magnetic ordering of the four-sublattice ferromagnet PbMnBO4 is investigated. A phase diagram of low-lying magnetic phases on the plane of the DM exchange components is obtained for different values of the SIA parameters. An effect of the isotropic interchain exchange on the spin orientation and, as a result, on the SIA energy in different magnetic phases is considered at the comparable values of the interactions. The determinative role of DM exchange for the magnetic anisotropy of PbMnBO4 is discussed.

Аннотация: Using Density Functional Theory and Periodic Boundary Conditions it is shown that the hydroxylated/oxygenated/halogenated Mn2C monolayer is a 2D ferromagnetic material with a local Mn ions magnetic moment of 2.7μв per unit cell. Upon oxygenation the ferromagnetic coupling between Mn ions can be transformed into a superposition of magnetic states. In particular, the intrinsic magnetic moments in the hydroxylated/halogenated Mn2C monolayer can attain up to 6μB per unit cell. It is found that oxygen termination induces flat bands in the band structure, which evidence for the strong electron correlations and could lead to the implementation of exotic quantum phases in 2D crystals and high-temperature superconductivity. Along with the potential of the hydroxylated Mn2C monolayer characterized by the half-metallicity for application in spintronic devices as a perfect spin injector/detector, this material like other conventional MXenes is promising for the use in energy storage, electromagnetic interference shielding, and sensing.

Аннотация: The ground state of the four-sublattice PbMnBO4 ferromagnet is investigated taking into account the symmetry of the crystal and the spatial distribution of the orbital states of the Mn3+ ions. By numerical minimization of the energy of the ground state of the classical model with three types of anisotropy—single-ion, dipole–dipole, and Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction—the anisotropic interaction parameters for magnetic phases with different orientations of the total magnetization in the crystal are obtained. It is demonstrated that the experimentally observed state with the magnetization directed along the a orthorhombic axis becomes the ground state only in the presence of antisymmetric anisotropic exchange.

Аннотация: Orthorhombic PbMnBO4 is a rare example of an insulating ferromagnet in which the magnetic properties, in particular the strong magnetic anisotropy, are determined by the Mn3+ Jahn-Teller ion. Here, we report on the detailed investigation of magnetic excitations in the subterahertz and terahertz frequency ranges, as well as lattice excitations in the terahertz range. Using polarized azimuthally resolved Raman spectroscopy, four branches of magnetic excitations were observed and assigned to one acoustic and three optical one-magnon modes. The coupling between ferromagnetic ordering at TC=31K and the Jahn-Teller distortions of [MnO6] octahedra due to the spin-phonon interaction was directly observed for some specific phonon modes involved in these distortions. A spin-wave Hamiltonian was developed that allowed us to determine a unique set of exchange and effective anisotropy parameters. The intensity ratio of the anti-Stokes to Stokes acoustic magnon peaks is found to be anomalous and directly indicates the involvement of the magneto-optical parameters in the magnetic Raman scattering process.

Аннотация: Electronic structure and magnetic properties of Fe3Se4 are calculated using the density functional approach. Due to the metallic properties, magnetic moments of the iron atoms in two nonequivalent positions in the unit cell are different from ionic values for Fe3+ and Fe2+ and are equal to M1=2.071μB and M2=−2.042μB, making the system ferrimagnetic. The total magnetic moment for the unit cell is 2.135μB. Under isotropic compression, the total magnetic moment decreases non-monotonically and correlates with the non-monotonic dependence of the density of states at the Fermi level N(EF). For 7% compression, the magnetic order changes from the ferrimagnetic to the ferromagnetic. At 14% compression, the magnetic order disappears and the total magnetic moment becomes zero, leaving the system in a paramagnetic state. This compression corresponds to the pressure of 114 GPa. The magnetic ordering changes faster upon application of an isotropic external pressure due to the sizeable anisotropy of the chemical bondings in Fe3Se4. The ferrimagnetic and paramagnetic states occur under pressures of 5.0 and 8.0 GPa, respectively. The system remains in the metallic state for all values of compression.

Аннотация: The ground state of a classical two-sublattice ferromagnet with the noncollinear single-ion anisotropy axes of the sublattices and the antisymmetric and anisotropic symmetric exchanges between them has been investigated in a magnetic field applied along the hard magnetization directions in the crystal. The threshold relations for the parameters of the anisotropic interactions have been obtained, which determine the choice of the ground state among the three possible magnetic phases. Depending on the ground state type and the field direction, the transition between the phases is a first- or second-order phase transition. The antisymmetric exchange value above which the reorientation between the noncollinear phases ends with a second-order transition depends on the angle between the local easy axes and the single-ion anisotropy value. Field dependences of the magnetization and susceptibility for different ground states have been calculated. A comparison with the results of the magnetic measurements in the highly anisotropic PbMnBO4 ferromagnet has been made.

Аннотация: The ground state of a Heisenberg ferromagnet with the noncollinear single-ion anisotropy axes of two magnetic sublattices has been investigated in an external magnetic field applied in the anisotropy axes plane. Noncollinearity of the sublattice local anisotropy axes leads to a new effect called the orientational first-order spin-flop phase transition. The transition field depends on the single-ion anisotropy value and sublattice local axes orientation. An analysis of the stability of magnetic states shows that the transition is accompanied by the hysteretic field dependence of the magnetization. The dependences of the spin-flop transition field, magnetization jump, and susceptibility on the single-ion anisotropy value and axes orientation have been determined. The results obtained are used to explain the field dependence of the magnetization in the PbMnBO4 ferromagnetic crystal.

Аннотация: The electrical injection of the spin-polarized current into silicon in the Fe3Si/n-Si epitaxial structure is demonstrated. The spin accumulation effect is examined by measuring the local and nonlocal voltage in a special four-terminal device. The observed effect of the electric bias on the spin signal is discussed and compared with the results obtained for ferromagnet/semiconductor structures.

Аннотация: Near the Curie temperature TC = 30.3 K, the temperature dependences of the magnetization and heat capacity of a single-crystal ferromagnet PbMnBO4 in the magnetic fields of 1, 3, 10 and 30 kOe are studied. In the strong magnetic fields, both the magnetic contribution to the specific heat and the nonlinearity of the field dependences of the magnetization are maintained up to the temperatures exceeding TC more than twice. It is assumed that in PbMnBO4 the difference between TC, the paramagnetic Curie temperature θ = 49 K and the broad temperature region above TC where the magnetic contribution to the specific heat is significant is due to the quasi-one-dimensional character of the magnetic structure of this ferromagnet. Using both the estimation of TC from the Ginzburg-Landau field theory and the θ value, the total exchange interaction parameters 2J ≈ 40.4 K (intrachain) and z′J′ ≈ 8.8 K (interchain) are determined, with z′ = 4 being the number of neighboring chains. The estimation shows that the Ginzburg-Landau field theory describing the quasi-one-dimensional behavior of PbMnBO4 is well applicable in the temperature range from to T = S2J ≈ 80 K. Above this temperature, the mean field approximation with the exchange parameter λθ based on the paramagnetic Curie temperature θ describes well the experimental temperature dependences of the magnetization in the strong magnetic field and the specific heat is determined by the lattice contribution.

Аннотация: Sr1−xYxCoO2.65 (x = 0.2) with layered perovskite structure was studied by neutron diffraction, synchrotron x-ray and magnetometry methods. It is shown that in the 90–375 K temperature range the crystal structure can be described by the monoclinic space group A2/m with the superstructure 4√2a p × 2√2a p × 4a p (with a p corresponding to the unit cell parameter of the primitive cell) while basic diffraction peaks are well indexed in the space group I4/mmm (2a p × 2a p × 4a p ) shows an almost standard magnetization. The basic magnetic structure is G-type antiferromagnetic with average magnetic moments of 2.7 μ B/Co and 1.7 μ B/Co in anion-deficient CoO4+γ and stoichiometric CoO6 layers, respectively. A ferromagnetic component of about 0.27 μ B/Co is determined from the magnetization measurements at 8 K. Sr0.8Y0.2CoO2.65 shows an almost standard magnetization versus temperature dependence whereas Sr0.75Y0.25CoO2.65 exhibits an antiferromagnet-ferromagnet transition accompanied by a structural transformation. There is practically no spontaneous magnetization in x = 0.3. The type of the magnetic structure and the high value of TN suggest that the Co3+ ions are in both structural layers predominantly in the low-spin (LS)/high-spin (HS) state mixture. It is proposed that the ferromagnetic component is due to the orbital ordering occurring at TN in the CoO5 pyramids and the concomitant appearance of ferromagnetic coupling between the Co3+(HS) ions located in these CoO5 pyramids in the anion-deficient CoO4+γ layer.

Из анализа экспериментальных данных получены оценки параметров электрон-деформационного взаимодействия для данных соединений.In this study field dependencies magnetostriction and magnetization of single crystals rare-earth tetrfluorides were measured in the strong magnetic fields (up to 8T) applied along and perpendicular to the crystallographic axis at different temperatures (2-10K). Approximate values of electron-deformations interaction were found from these experimental results.

Аннотация: CMOS and SOI technology compatible structures and devices are currently intensively investigated by many research groups, since various effects observed in such structures can be relatively easy implemented in electronic devices thereby expanding their functionality. The most promising is the research and development of spintronic devices, which will allow using both electron charge and spin degrees of freedom for transmission, storage and processing of information. In this work we report the fabrication process of 3-terminal (3-T) ferromagnet/silicon devices of two types. First is the planar Fe3Si/Si 3-T structure with 5 μm gap between closest ferromagnetic electrodes. Second is silicon nanowire back-gate transistor with Fe film source and drain synthesized on SOI substrate. Transport and magnetotransport properties of both devices are investigated.

Аннотация: The algorithm of approximate solution has been developed for the differential equation describing the anharmonical change of the spin orientation angle in the model of ferromagnet with the exchange competition between nearest and next nearest magnetic neighbors and the easy axis exchange anisotropy. The obvious dependence of the angle velocity from angle and initial condition has been derived by expanding the first integral of the equation in the Taylor series in vicinity of initial condition. © Siberian Federal University. All rights reserved.Разработан алгоритм приближенного решения дифференциального уравнения, описывающего ангармоническое изменение угла ориентации спина в модели легкоосного ферромагнетика с конкуренцией обменов между ближайшими и следующими за ближайшими магнитными соседями. Явная зависимость угловой скорости от угла и начального условия получена путем разложения первого интеграла уравнения в ряд Тейлора в окрестности начального условия

Аннотация: The phase diagram of the ground state is obtained for the one-dimensional easy-axis model of classical spins coupled by ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic exchanges between nearest and next-nearest neighbors, respectively. The parameters of the incommensurate magnetic structure with a variable step (soliton lattice) are calculated in the mean field approximation from the condition of the collinearity of spins to the effective exchange fields in the continuous approximation. The ground state of the soliton lattice and interfaces between soliton and collinear (ferromagnetic and "up-up-down-down") phases are determined by the numerical minimization of the average energy over the initial angular velocity of spins.

Аннотация: The algorithm of approximate solution was developed for the differential equation describing the anharmonical change of the spin orientation angle in the model of ferromagnet with the exchange competition between nearest and next nearest magnetic neighbors and the easy axis exchange anisotropy. The equation was obtained from the collinearity constraint on the discrete lattice. In the low anharmonicity approximation the equation is resulted to an autonomous form and is integrated in quadratures. The obvious dependence of the angle velocity and second derivative of angle from angle and initial condition was derived by expanding the first integral of the equation in the Taylor series in vicinity of initial condition. The ground state of the soliton solutions was calculated by a numerical minimization of the energy integral. The evaluation of the used approximation was made for a triple point of the phase diagram.
