We have considered the impact of the nontrivial superconducting order parameter on the magnetic susceptibility within the multiorbital model for the iron-based materials. The formation of the spin-resonance peak is demonstrated and its connection to the experimental data on the inelastic neutron scattering is discussed.

Аннотация: Eu–Ba–Cu–O composition was synthesized by solid state reaction technique. To determine optimum growth temperature, heat treatment was examined on the material at 880–1,100 °C. Microstructural evolution, phase formation and elemental distribution depending on heat treatments were examined by using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscope analysis. Optimum fabrication conditions were determined as 1,020 °C for 24 h under oxygen atmosphere and detailed characterization of corresponding compound was performed. The magnetization hysteresis loops are expounded to be the product of superconducting Eu-123 grains and magnetic Eu2+ ions. The peak effect on the magnetization curves was described by the extended critical state model. Scaling of the pinning force was found such that the peak position is proportional to the irreversibility field H irr and the maximum pinning force is proportional to H irr 2 .

Аннотация: Regularities in the behavior of the magnetoresistance hysteresis R(H) in the granular yttrium high-temperature superconductors (HTSs) have been established. For this purpose, a comparative analysis of the magnetotransport properties has been carried out on the granular HTS samples, which exhibit (i) approximately the same magnetic properties and temperatures of the onset of the superconducting transition (90.5–93.5 K, which is characteristic of HTS grains) and (ii) different critical transport currents JC (which is characteristic of grain boundaries). Despite a significant (by more than an order of magnitude) spread of the JC values for the three samples, a universal behavior of the magnetoresistance hysteresis has been found, which is apparently inherent in all the granular Y–Ba–Cu–O compounds. The R(H) hysteresis is extremely broad and, in a fairly wide external field range, the dependence of the magnetoresistance hysteresis width ΔН on the field Hdec (the external field for the decreasing hysteresis branch is Н = Hdec) is almost linear: ΔH ≈ Hdec. This behavior is observed over the entire temperature range of implementation of the superconducting state (the investigations have been carried out at temperatures of 77–88 and 4.2 K). The result obtained has been explained by considering the effective field in grain boundaries, which is a superposition of the external field and the field induced by the magnetic moments of grains. The field induced by grains, in turn, significantly increases in the region of grain boundaries due to the magnetic flux compression (the grain boundary length is shorter than the HTS grain size by several orders of magnitude). The aforesaid has been confirmed by the analysis of the R(H) hysteresis for the Y–Ba–Cu–O- and CuO-based HTS composite, in which the grain boundary length is purposefully increased; as a result, the flux compression is less pronounced and the R(H) hysteresis narrows.

Аннотация: The s ± and s ++ models for the superconducting state are subject of intense studies regarding Fe-based superconductors. Depending on the parameters, disorder may leave intact or suppress T c in these models. Here, we study the special case of disorder with equal values of intra- and interband impurity potentials in the two-band s ± and s ++ models. We show that this case can be considered as an isolated point and T c there has maximal damping for a wide range of parameters.

Аннотация: Polycrystalline Y1−xNdxBa2Cu3O7−δ (x=0.02, 0.11, and 0.25) superconductors are synthesized. Nd atoms are uniformly distributed over grains. The magnetization loops of the samples have a pronounced second peak in a wide temperature range. The magnetization data are analyzed using the extended critical state model. It is found that the order-disorder transition of the vortex lattice is affected by doping with neodymium and temperature; the second-peak field and width decrease monotonically with increasing x value. The undoped polycrystalline YBa2Cu3O7−δ compound is assumed to exhibit the peak effect in higher magnetic fields.

Аннотация: The Monte Carlo method has been used to calculate the trapped magnetic field in superconducting plates with holes. The mechanism of flux pinning on the holes is implemented with special subprocesses added to the algorithm: vortex capture and emission, both occurring on the hole boundaries. Secondary peaks related to the holes emerge on the calculated profiles of the trapped magnetic field. It has been found that these peaks disappear in plates with sufficiently strong pinning or when the computational mesh is coarse (the case corresponding to a low resolution of probes in experiments). The dependence of the trapped field on the hole radius has been analyzed.

Аннотация: The results of the study of transport properties (temperature dependences of resistivity and critical current, current-voltage characteristics) of two-phase composites on the basis of Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 high-temperature superconductor (HTSC) produced by fast baking technique and modelling networks of Josephson-type weak links are reported. Non-superconducting ingredients with different magnetic structures, insulators and normal metals, function as barriers between HTSC crystallites. Besides strong suppression of superconducting properties in HTSC composites with magnetic barriers, anomalous behavior of temperature dependences of resistivity below T-c of HTSC grains have been observed and investigated.

Аннотация: Composites simulating a network of weak metallic links and consisting of a classic 1-2-3 HTSC and a BaPbO3 metal oxide with incorporated Sn, Ni, and Fe impurities have been prepared. Experimental resistivity, magnetic, and Mossbauer studies of the BaPb(0.9)Met(0.1)O(3) nonsuperconducting components are presented. The transport properties of the HTSC + BaPb(0.9)Met(0.1)O(3) composites have been investigated. The superconducting properties of the composites are observed to be suppressed, both when the carrier mean free path in nonsuperconducting components with tin impurities decreases, and as a result of an additional interaction of the magnetic moments of (Fe, Ni) impurities with the spins of supercurrent carriers. The experimental temperature dependences of the composite critical current are analyzed in terms of the de Gennes theory for the superconductor-normal metal-superconductor structures. The best congruence of experiment with theory was reached for the Schussler-Kummel consideration of Andreev scattering in S-Sm-S (S-superconductor, Sm-semiconductor) junctions.

Аннотация: Magnetoresistance curves R(H) and time relaxation of the residual resistance of bulk YBCO + CuO composites have been studied. These composites represent the network of Josephson junctions, where CuO acts as a barrier between YBCO grains. It has been shown that hysteresis of the R(H) dependences is related to the flux trapping within the YBCO crystallites. This flux induces magnetic field in the intergrain media. Time relaxation of the residual resistance is caused by relaxation of the magnetization of YBCO grains. The time dependence of the residual resistance obeys a logarithmic law, which describes the Anderson-like relaxation processes in the YBCO grains. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Аннотация: We formulate and study the three-orbital model for iron-based superconductors. Results for the band structure, Fermi surface, and the spin susceptibility in both normal and superconducting s В± states are presented. Аннотация: The transport properties of a novel foamed superconductor Bi1.8Pb0.3Sr1.9Ca2Cu3Ox have been studied. As the analysis of resistive transitions in a magnetic field shows, the dissipation follows a thermally activated flux creep model with the temperature- independent pinning potential in S-N-S-type Josephson junctions.

Аннотация: Based on the effective four-band model we analyze the spin response in the normal and superconducting states of the Fe-pnictide superconductors. While the normal-state spin excitations are dominated by the continuum of the interorbital antiferromagnetic fluctuations and the intraband spin-density wave fluctuations, the unconventional superconductivity yields different feedback. The resonance peak in the form of the well-defined spin exciton occurs only for the interband scattering at the antiferromagnetic momentum Q(AFM) for the s(+/-) (extended s wave) superconducting order parameter and it disappears rapidly for q Q(AFM). The resonance feature is extremely weak for the d(x)(2)-y(2)-wave order parameter due to the specific Fermi-surface topology of these compounds. The essential difference between s(+/-)-wave and d(x)(2)-y(2)-wave symmetries for the magnetic excitations can be used for experimental determination of the superconducting wave-function symmetry.

Аннотация: The diagram series structure for Matsubara Green's functions in the Hubbard operators representation have been analyzed for the superconducting (SC) phase in the t-J-model. It has been found that the Hubbard operator diagram technique besides anomalous self-energy operator includes also anomalous strength operator (ASO). With account for ASO Gor'kov equations have been written. ASO are shown to be very essential when anomalous averages are calculated. The anomalous self-energy operator and ASO were derived in one-loop approximation. It has turned out that strength operator components depend oil Matsubara frequency. As a result the SC phase is described by infinite set of integral equations. When deriving the equation for transition temperature in SC phase with s- and d-order parameter symmetry this system has been solved exactly. On the basis of numerical calculations it has been found that the account for strength operator components has fully suppressed SC phase with s-order parameter symmetry in the t-J-model. Аннотация: A scenario of the formation of an experimentally observed inflection point on the temperature dependence of the London penetration depth λ in cuprate high-temperature superconductors (HTSCs) with optimal hole doping is discussed within the spin-polaron concept. It is shown that the reason for the appearance of an inflection point on the 1/λ2(T) dependence is due to the features of the energy spectrum of spin-polaron quasiparticles in the superconducting phase, as well as to the specific temperature dependence of their spectral density.

Аннотация: The experimental results of the effect of the magnetic field (up to 60 kOe) on the broadening of the resistive transition of bulk composites Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2CU3O7 (YBCO) + CuO are presented. These composites represent the network of the tunnel-type Josephson junctions where the copper oxide acts as a material forming barriers between YBCO crystallites. The mechanisms responsible for broadening of the resistive transition under magnetic field are discussed. The analysis of experimental R(7) dependences have shown that in the low field range 0-10(2) Oe, the R(7) dependences are described well by the Ambegaokar-Halperin (AH) model. In the range 10(3)-6 x 10(4) Oe, the dissipation follows Arrhenius law R similar to exp(-U(H)/k(B)T) characteristic for thermally activated flux creep model. In the range H similar to 10(2)-10(3), the crossover from AH to flux creep dissipation mechanisms occurs. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
