Аннотация:
Quantum-chemical calculations of neutral and charged ironporphyrin (FeP, FeP+1 and FeP-) systems were performed using B3LYP and MP2 methods. It was shown that all ground
states
of FeP (S = 1), FeP +1 (S = 3/2) and FeP- (S = 1/2) systems have C 2v symmetry. During the first step of electron transfer process an electron goes to β-LUMO - 1 Fe dyz-orbital of FeP+1. The second electron goes to β-LUMO of FeP which is attributed to π-system of porphyrin ring. The 3s- and 3p-orbitals do not play a significant role in the electron transfer process. The ability of FeP -1 system to form π-dative chemical bond is low. The formation of π-π-complexes is preferable. © 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved

The B3LYD /6-31(p,d) density functional method is applied to pheromones of the forest xylophagous insects Ips typographus L., Monochamus urussovi Fisch., and Monochamus galloprovincialis Oliv. to calculate the absorption spectra and find excited
states
. The calculated results are used to assess the possible activity of the molecules when they are affected by solar radiation.

Аннотация:
Owing to the nonlocal character of the Majorana state, the corresponding excitations are of great interest. It is demonstrated that the direct consequence of such nonlocality is the collapse of the Fano resonance manifesting itself in the conductance of an asymmetric interference device, the arms of which are connected by a one-dimensional topological superconductor. In the framework of the spinless model, it is shown that the predicted effect is associated with an increase in the multiplicity of the degeneracy of the zero-energy state of the structure arising at the critical point of the Kitaev model. Such an increase leads to the formation of a bound state in the continuum.

In modern experiments with hybrid superconducting (SC)/semiconducting nanowires the presence of zero-energy Andreev bound
states
(ABSs), characterized by a partial overlap of the Majorana wave functions, is a common problem that significantly complicates the detection of a genuine Majorana bound state (MBS). In this article, taking into account spatial inhomogeneity of experimentally investigated nanowire samples, we study interference transport features of a curved heterostructure in which two normal wires (or arms) are separated by a superconducting wire. Since Andreev reflection on the two N/S interfaces with smoothly changing electrostatic and SC pairing potentials results in the emergence of bound
states
, the low-energy interference transport is described in the framework of the model of two noninteracting Andreev levels or the Andreev double quantum dot. A set of limiting cases is analyzed allowing us to highlight the interference properties that are unique for the different types of ABSs, such as bulk ABS, inhomogeneous ABS, and MBS. In particular, considerable attention is paid to the features of the Aharonov-Bohm (AB) effect. It is shown that the response of each state can be recognized analyzing both AB period and extrema positions of the conductance oscillations which take place without any fine-tuning of the system parameters.

Аннотация:
We develop a semiclassical method to determine the nonlinear dynamics of dissipative quantum optical systems in the limit of large number of photons N; it is based on the 1/N-expansion and the quantum-classical correspondence. The method is used to tackle two problems: the study of the dynamics of nonclassical state generation in higher order anharmonic dissipative oscillators and the establishment of the difference between the quantum and classical dynamics of the second-harmonic generation in a self-pulsing regime. In addressing the first problem, we obtain an explicit time dependence of the squeezing and the Fano factor for an arbitrary degree of anharmonism in the short-time approximation. For the second problem, we analytically find a characteristic time scale at which the quantum dynamics differs insignificantly from the classical one. (C) 2000 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".

We examine the dynamics of a wave packet that initially corresponds to a coherent state in the model of a quantum rotator excited by a periodic sequence of kicks. This model is the main model of quantum chaos and allows for a transition from regular behavior to chaotic in the classical limit. By doing a numerical experiment we study the generation of squeezed
states
in quasiclassical conditions and in a time interval when quantum-classical correspondence is well-defined. We find that the degree of squeezing depends on the degree of local instability in the system and increases with the Chirikov classical stochasticity parameter. We also discuss the dependence of the degree of squeezing on the initial width of the packet, the problem of stability and observability of squeezed
states

We develop a method for the determination of the dynamics of dissipative quantum systems in the limit of large number of quanta N, based on the 1/N-expansion of Heidmann et al. [Opt. Commun. 54, 189 (1985)] and the quantum-classical correspondence. Using this method, we End analytically the dynamics of nonclassical
states
generation in the higher-order anharmonic dissipative oscillators for an arbitrary temperature of a reservoir. We show that the quantum correction to the classical motion increases with time quadratically up to some maximal value, which is dependent on the degree of nonlinearity and a damping constant, and then it decreases. Similarities and differences with the corresponding behavior of the quantum corrections to the classical motion in the Hamiltonian chaotic systems are discussed. We also compare our results obtained for some limiting cases with the results obtained by using other semiclassical tools and discuss the conditions for validity of our approach.

Аннотация:
The two-dimensional (2D) Heisenberg model with anisotropic exchange (Delta = 1 - J(x)/J(z)) and with negative next nearest neighbor exchange (J(2)) with S = 1/2 is investigated by using the quantum-mechanical Monte-Carlo method. The energy, magnetic moment at a site, heat capacity, and spin-spin correlation functions are calculated. The stability regions for Neel ordering of spins as well as the strip-phase and gapless quantum spin liquid are determined in the interval Delta/2 less than or equal to J(2)/ J(1)less than or equal to 1/(2 Delta). Аннотация:
The atomic and electronic structures, mechanical properties and potential barriers of formation of a set of meso–meso β–β fused porphyrin/metalloporphyrin nanopages, nanotapes, nanotubes and 2D nanofabrics were studied by GGA LC-DFT technique using cluster and PBC models. The porphyrin pages of the nanoclusters are connected with each other by graphene fragments formed by meso–meso β–β links. Fusion of all the edges of six porphyrin/metalloporphyrin units produces a novel ~ 1 nm sized molecule of cubic symmetry with a hollow cage inside. It was found that all studied nanoclusters are metastable with formation energies 0.36–7.57 kcal/mol per atom. Under applied mechanical stress, the nanoclusters exhibit superelastic and ultrastrong properties with binding graphene fragments being the weakest links for mechanical rupture. Depending on the spin-dependent reaction pathways, the hollow caged nanoclusters exhibit almost zero or low potential energy barriers (1–10 kcal/mol) during the initial stages of self-assembly. All nanoclusters exibit the main features of the electronic structures of the parent porphyrins, in particular the nature of HOMO/LUMO
states
and the relative energetic positions of the metal d
states
. The induced curvature of the hollow cage nanoclusters leads to admixture of more than 2% of the dπ⊥
states
to the dσ energy region and formation of vacant superatomic molecular orbitals of d character in cubic ligand field. The Fe-derived hollow-caged nanoclusters reveal extremely high spin
states
with small energy differences between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic configurations, which can be utilized for quantum holonomic computations.

Аннотация:
The general molecular-statistical approach is proposed for the analysis or the polarized luminescence spectrum for impurity molecule of an arbitrary symmetry in the nematic liquid crystal matrix. On the particular example of uniaxial molecules the influence of features of the molecular electron structure, orientational statistics, molecular dynamics, and features of the anisotropic intermolecular coupling upon the positions of maxima v(if)(t) of impurity fluorescence polarized bands J(ij)(t) is studied. For the first time it is shown that all these factors significantly affect the degree of spectrum v(ij)(t) degeneration. For t not-equal 0, relaxation of excited impurity molecule subsystem toward the orientational distribution lifts a partial degeneration of spectrum v(ij), occuring at t not-equal 0, and renews partial or total degeneration of spectrum v(ij) in the limit t = infinity. In the lack of the spectrum v(ij) degeneration for t = 0 the relaxation may restore partial degeneration for t not-equal 0 as a function of the features of electron structure of molecules. The results of work explain the familiar experimental data on the number of independent component v(ij) and relation between them, on dependence of v(ij) upon the order of matrix and impurity subsystem, on the mutual relation in the positions of impurity band polarized component in the absorption and fluorescence spectra.

Аннотация:
The possibility of using a hyperbolic metamaterial to form conventional and epsilon-near-zero Tamm plasmon polaritons in the near-infrared and visible spectral ranges is demonstrated. The spectral properties of the hyperbolic metamaterial are investigated in the framework of the effective medium theory and confirmed by the transfer matrix method. It is found that at the oblique incidence of light onto a structure, the I-type hyperbolic metamaterial can be implemented, while II-type cannot. The sensitivity of the epsilon-near-zero wavelength to the variation in the angle of light incidence for TE and TM waves is demonstrated. It is shown that both the high-quality and broadband Tamm plasmon polaritons are excited in the investigated structures.

The spectral properties of a one-dimensional photonic crystal bounded by an absorbing plasmonic gyroid layer are investigated. The gyroid material is a foam-like metallic three-dimensionally periodic curved film with zero mean curvature at every point. We calculate the transmittance and reflectance spectra at the normal and oblique light incidence. The possibility of the Tamm state formation at the interface between a photonic crystal and a plasmonic gyroid layer caused by the negative real part of the gyroid permittivity is demonstrated for the first time. Specific features of field localization at the Tamm state frequencies are discussed. It is shown that the spectral and polarization properties of the optical Tamm
states
are highly sensitive to the change in the angle of incidence and in the refractive index of a medium filling the gyroid cavities.

Аннотация:
The optical Tamm
states
(OTSs) localized at the edges of a photonic crystal bounded by a nanoporous silver (NPS) film are investigated. NPS involves spherical vacuum nanopores dispersed in the metal matrix and is characterized by the effective resonance permittivity. The transmission, reflection, and absorption spectra of the structures under study at the normal incidence of light are calculated. It is shown that each Tamm state has its own frequency range where the real part of effective permittivity is negative. The light field localization at the high- and low-frequency OTSs is investigated. The specific features of spectral manifestation of the OTSs are studied in dependence on the nanopore concentration in the metal matrix and on the NPS film thickness.

Аннотация:
The spectral properties of a one-dimensional photonic crystal bounded by a resonant absorbing nanocomposite layer with the near-zero permittivity have been studied. The problem of calculating the transmittance, reflectance, and absorptance spectra of such structures at the normal and oblique incidence of light has been solved. It is shown that, depending on the permittivity sign near zero, the nanocomposite is characterized by either metallic or dielectric properties. The possibility of simultaneous formation of the Tamm plasmon polariton at the photonic crystal/metallic nanocomposite interface and the localized state similar to the defect mode with the field intensity maximum inside the dielectric nanocomposite layer is demonstrated. Specific features of field localization at the Tamm plasmon polariton and defect mode frequencies are analyzed. © 2018 by the authors.
