Аннотация: We report As-75 nuclear magnetic resonance measurements of the spin-lattice relaxation in the superconducting (SC) state of LaFeAsO0.9F0.1 and As-deficient LaFeAs1-delta O0.9F0.1. The temperature behavior of 1/T-1 below T-c changes drastically from a T-3 dependence for LaFeAsO0.9F0.1 to a T-5 dependence for the As-deficient sample. These results, together with the previously reported unexpected increase in Tc and the slope of the upper critical field near Tc for the As-deficient sample, are discussed in terms of nonuniversal SC gaps in Fe pnictides and the effect of As deficiency as an exotic case where nonmagnetic "smart" impurities even stabilize an s(+/-)-wave superconductor or within a scenario of a disorder-driven change to s(++) superconductivity.

Аннотация: Numerical analysis of the micromagnetic model was used to reveal the ‘resonance’ feature of relaxation processes in nanocrystalline thin magnetic films. This feature manifests itself in the form of sharp broadening of the ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) line at a certain frequency f1 depending on magnetic characteristics of the film, and is observed only in films the thickness of which exceeds some threshold value dmin. Sharp broadening of the FMR line is accompanied by significant shift of the resonance field, whereas the shift value changes the sign at frequency ~ f1. It was shown analytically that the nature of observed effects is associated with the two-magnon process of spin waves scattering on quasi-periodic magnetic microstructure – magnetization ‘ripple’. Obtained expressions for the threshold value of film thickness dmin and frequency of maximum broadening of FMR line f1 agree well with the results of numerical computation of micromagnetic model.

Аннотация: Composites simulating a network of weak metallic links and consisting of a classic 1-2-3 HTSC and a BaPbO3 metal oxide with incorporated Sn, Ni, and Fe impurities have been prepared. Experimental resistivity, magnetic, and Mossbauer studies of the BaPb(0.9)Met(0.1)O(3) nonsuperconducting components are presented. The transport properties of the HTSC + BaPb(0.9)Met(0.1)O(3) composites have been investigated. The superconducting properties of the composites are observed to be suppressed, both when the carrier mean free path in nonsuperconducting components with tin impurities decreases, and as a result of an additional interaction of the magnetic moments of (Fe, Ni) impurities with the spins of supercurrent carriers. The experimental temperature dependences of the composite critical current are analyzed in terms of the de Gennes theory for the superconductor-normal metal-superconductor structures. Аннотация: Bulk Y3/4Lu1/4Ba2Cu3O7 + BaPb1-xFexO3 composites representing a model of a network of superconductor-normal metal-superconductor (SNS) Josephson junctions with paramagnetic impurities (Fe) in the N layers have been prepared. The transport properties of the composites have been studied. An exponential decay of the critical current with increasing Fe content in the non-superconducting ingredient of the composite has been observed. Such a behaviour is accounted for in terms of the de Gennes proximity effect theory.

Аннотация: The temperature evolution of the current-voltage (I-U) characteristic of a contact of the break-junction type with direct conduction is investigated on a polycrystalline HTSC of the Y-Ba-Cu-O system. The experimental I-U characteristics possessing a hysteresis are correctly described in the framework of the Kummel-Nicolsky theory for an S-N-S contact (S stands for a superconductor; N, for a normal metal) in which the Andreev reflection of quasiparticles from the N-S interface is considered. It is shown that the shape of the I-U curve, as well as the existence of a hysteresis, is determined by the ratio of the number of "long" and "short" intergranular boundaries in the polycrystal under investigation. The coincidence of the calculated and experimental I-U curves made it possible to estimate the effective length of "natural" intergranular boundaries in polycrystalline HTSC materials. The estimate is obtained from the experimental temperature dependence of the critical current in the sample under investigation. (C) 2002 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".

Аннотация: The polarized Raman spectra of SrB4O7 (SBO) single crystals are studied in detail in the temperature range of 300–1273 K. The TO, LO, and IO phonon lines of A1, A2, B1, and B2 symmetries of rhombic SBO at 300 K are identified. The behavior of the Raman spectra of SBO crystals is studied upon heating up to their melting. The relation of Raman spectra with the structure of boron–oxygen fragments, as well as the transformation of spectra in the process of melting of SBO crystals, is discussed. © 2016, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Аннотация: The t-t'-t"-J* model of electrons interacting with three phonon modes (breathing, apical breathing, and buckling) is considered. The wave-vector dependence of the matrix elements of the electron-phonon interaction leads to opposite contributions to the pairing potential with the d(x2-y2) symmetry: the buckling mode facilitates electron pairing, while the breathing mode suppresses it. As a result, the critical temperature of La2-xSrxCuO4 that is associated with the magnetic mechanism is lowered when phonons are taken into account.

Аннотация: It is shown that dispersions of E-1(LO) and A(1)(LO) modes of InN can be restored in a wide interval of wave vectors by studying impurity-induced first-order Raman scattering as a function of exciting light energy. It is also shown that due to the resonance character of scattering the observed phonon energies correspond to the wave vectors strictly defined by exciting photon energies. The frequencies of E-1(LO) and A(1)(LO) phonons at the Gamma point obtained by extrapolation to zero wave vectors were found to be 604 and 592 cm(-1), respectively.

Аннотация: The Feshbach projection formalism is applied to consider quantum transmission through a tight-binding wire subject to a time-periodic potential. The wire is coupled with two leads via the coupling constant v(C). The periodicity of the potential implies an additional temporal dimension that reduces the problem to stationary transmission through an effectively two-dimensional lattice system. The non-Hermitian effective Hamiltonian is formulated. Thist allows us to trace the redistribution of resonance positions and resonance widths with the growth of v(C) from the weak-coupling to the strong-coupling regime.

Аннотация: We consider a transmission through the potential relief created by a split gate constriction (quantum point contact). Simultaneously, dc and ac voltages V-up(t)=V-0+V-1 cos omega t and V-dw(t)=V-0+V-1 cos(omega t+theta) are applied to the gates. We show numerically that the in-phase ac voltages (theta=0) smear the conductance steps of the stationary conductance, while the antiphase ac voltages (theta=pi) only shift the conductance steps. Moreover, computation of currents in probing wires connected cross to the time-periodic quantum point contact reveals a net current for theta not equal 0,pi. This implies that the Schrodinger equation described by the electron transport under the effect of the time-periodic long electrodes is equivalent to the transmission in the crossed effective magnetic and electric fields, where the in-plane magnetic field b similar to theta is directed along the transport axis and the electric field e similar to omega is directed perpendicular to the plane of electron transport. Then the vector exb gives rise to the galvanomagnetic current directed cross to the electron transport.

Аннотация: We consider light scattering by two-dimensional arrays of high-index dielectric spheres arranged into a triangular and square lattices. We demonstrate the appearance of the double degenerate accidental super-BIC modes with extremely suppressed radiative losses in the vicinity of the Γ point of the leaky band of the triangular lattice. Two rings of BICs (circular lines of BICs in reciprocal space) with different polarization appear at the point of the super-BIC destruction. The radius of the ring BIC (RBIC) changes as a function of the sphere's radius. We propose a generic analytical expression to describe the behavior of the guided mode decay rate as a function of the sphere radii and the wave vector in the vicinity of the RBIC. The results are explained using a multipolar approach.

Аннотация: Light transmission through a Fabry–Perot resonator (FPR) holding a dielectric cylinder rod is considered. For the cylinder parallel to mirrors of the FPR and the mirrors mimicked by the δ functions we present an exact analytical theory. It is shown that light transmits only for resonant incident angles, αm, similar to the empty FPR. However after transmission the light scatters into different resonant angles, αm′ , performing resonant angular conversion. We compare the theory with experiment in the FPR, exploring multilayer films as the mirrors and glass cylinder with diameter coincided with the distance between the FPR mirrors. The measured values of angular light conversion agree qualitatively with the theoretical results.

Аннотация: We study numerically the discrete dispersion relations and waveguiding properties of relatively short linear chains of spherical and spheroidal silver nanoparticles. Simulations are based on the Drude model for the dielectric permittivity of metal and on the dipole approximation for the electromagnetic interaction of particles. We also simulate the dynamics of femtosecond optical pulse propagation along such chains. In the case that we consider (10 particles per chain), reflections from the chain terminals play a significant detrimental role. We show that dissipative traps can be used to reduce the effects of reflections. We also show that chains composed of oblate spheroids with sufficiently small aspect ratio (nanodisks) have better waveguiding properties when compared to chains made of particles with other spheroidal shapes. This includes a slower rate of decay, larger group velocity, and larger bandwidth.

Аннотация: The lattice dynamics of the Rb2KMoO3F3 oxyfluoride has been studied by Raman spectroscopy in the temperature range 7–400 K. A phase transition has been revealed at T ≈ 185 K with decreasing temperature. Anomalies of the frequencies and Raman line half-widths have been analyzed. No condensation of soft lattice modes has been found. The character of changes in the Raman spectra of the Rb2KMoO3F3 oxyfluoride shows that the phase transition is related to variations in the [MoO3F3]3− molecular octahedron.

Аннотация: Diphenylalanine microtubes have remarkable physical properties that allow one to use them in electronics. In this work, we measured polarised temperature-dependent Raman spectra in self-assembled diphenylalanine microtubes grown from the solution. We observed the anomalous temperature behaviour of the Raman lines. Their temperature changes were minimal, which required a significant improvement in the resolution and stability of Raman measurements. The anomalies in the behaviour of the spectra at about 178 K, 235 K, 255 K, 278 K, 296 K, 398 K and 412 K were observed. The structural phase transition at 398 K is irreversible. This transition is associated with the release of water molecules from nanochannels. The irreversible phase transition has a temperature range of about 10 K.

ScF3 -- high pressure -- phase transitions -- Raman scattering -- ab initio lattice dynamics
Аннотация: New pressure-induced phases are found in normally cubic ScF3 crystal using polarizing microscopy and micro-Raman spectroscopy. Their supposed space groups are R (3) over barc, Z = 2 and Pnma, Z = 4. Using ab initio model cubic phase was shown to be stable at ambient pressure down to T = 0 K, while hydrostatic pressure brings one of the phonon branches down to negative squared frequencies. R-5 soft mode condensation results in the rhombohedric distortion of the cubic lattice with cell volume doubling. Calculated squared frequencies of the high pressure phase are positive, their number and values agree with experimental results.

Аннотация: Pressure-induced phase transitions in the ScF3 crystal were studied using synchrotron radiation diffraction, polarization microscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. The phase existing in the range 0.6-3.0 GPa is optically anisotropic; its structure is described by space group R (3) c (Z = 2), and the transition is due to rotation of ScF6 octahedra around a threefold axis. The pressure dependence of the structural parameters and angle of rotation are determined. The number of Raman spectral lines corresponds to that expected for this structure; above the phase transition point, a recovery of soft modes takes place. At a pressure of 3.0 GPa, a transition occurs to a new phase, which remains metastable as the pressure decreases. The results are interpreted using an ab initio method based on the Gordon-Kim approach.

Аннотация: The HS - LS spin crossover effect (high-spin - low-spin transition) induced by high pressure in the range 45-53 GPa is observed in trivalent Fe3+ ions in the paramagnetic phase of a (GdFe3)-Fe-57(BO3)(4) gadolinium iron borate crystal. This effect is studied in high-pressure diamond-anvil cells by two experimental methods using synchrotron radiation: nuclear resonant forward scattering (NFS) and Fe K-beta high-resolution x-ray emission spectroscopy (YES). The manifestation of the crossover in the paramagnetic phase, which has no order parameter to distinguish between the HS and LS states, correlates with the optical-gap jump and with the insulator-semiconductor transition in the crystal. Based on a theoretical many-electron model, an explanation of this effect at high pressures is proposed.
