Аннотация:
The resonance absorption in Bi2CuO4 single crystals was found in the frequency range 35-80 GHz for H(perpendicular-to)C4 Case and it was absent for H(parallel-to)C4 case. The frequency-field dependence for H(perpendicular-to)C4 case at 4.2 K is typical for easy-plane antiferromagnets with weak magnetic anisotropy in this plane. In contrast to the sublattice magnetization of Bi2CuO4 the resonance parameters depend strongly on the temperature below 20 K. Besides, the resonance field has a considerable jump at TN which ls not typical for second order phase transitions.

detector based on a self-sustained oscillator circuit is proposed as a means to investigate the real and imaginary components of the dielectric permittivity of liquid crystals in external electric and magnetic fields. Results are given for measurements of a 500 MHz oscillator frequency for two types of nematic crystals, 5CBP and MBBA. Fundamental regularities are identified in the behavior of the

dielectric permittivity of samples in electric and magnetic fields. It is shown that the minimum of the high-frequency dielectric loss in liquid crystals correspond to a situation in which the long axes of the molecules are oriented parallel to the direction of the

Аннотация:
We investigate theoretically the dynamics of squeezed state generation in nonlinear systems possessing a transition from regular to chaotic dynamics in the limit of a large number of photons. As an example, the model of a kicked Kerr oscillator is considered. We show that at the transition to quantum chaos the maximum possible degree of squeezing increases exponentially in time, in contrast to the regular dynamics, where the degree of squeezing increases only powerwise in time. We demonstrate the one-to-one correspondence of the degree of squeezing and the value of the local Lyapunov instability rate in the corresponding classical chaotic system.

We study the dynamics of an electron in a standing wave of a
microwave
field. For large field amplitude the system undergoes a transition to a chaotic regime which is shown to be entirely related with the transition to relativistic dynamics. A possible laboratory experiment is shortly discussed.

The results of experiment on the influence of a direct current and a low-frequency alternating current, as well as a magnetic field, on the
microwave
-range conductivity sigma(MW) of Ln(0.7)Pb(0.3)MnO(3) single crystals with giant magnetoresistance are presented. The greatest sensitivity of the samples toward the effects of a current is observed in the temperature range corresponding to the dc magnetoresistance maximum. The response signal of a sample in the
microwave
range to the effects of an alternating current of a low frequency f(0) has a nonlinear character. As f(0) is varied in a magnetic field, the amplitude of the response signal varies with the appearance of resonance peaks. The results obtained are interpreted within an approach based on the coexistence of two phases having different conductivities in the doped manganite crystals. This two-phase interpretation is supported by data from magnetic-resonance investigations, which demonstrate the existence of two magnetic phases over a broad temperature range in Ln(0.7)Pb(0.3)MnO(3) single crystals. An experimental study of the effect of low-frequency transport current on the
microwave
conductivity of single-crystal La0.7Pb0.3MnO3 is reported. In the absence of an external magnetic field, the
microwave
conductivity response to a current follows a relaxation behavior. In a nonzero external magnetic field, the response spectrum exhibits a peak of resonant amplitude enhancement. The resonant response has a nonlinear nature. The temperature and field dependences of the main parameters of the
microwave

Аннотация:
We derive an explicit expression for the coupling constants of individual eigenstates of a closed billiard that is opened by attaching a waveguide. The Wigner time delay and the resonance positions resulting from the coupling constants are compared to an exact numerical calculation. Deviations can be attributed to evanescent modes in the waveguide and to the finite number of eigenstates taken into account. The influence of the shape of the billiard and of the boundary conditions at the mouth of the waveguide are also discussed. Finally we show that the mean value of the dimensionless coupling constants tends to the critical value when the eigenstates of the billiard follow random-matrix theory.

A rectangular
microwave
resonator filled with ferrite with uniaxial magnetic anisotropy is considered. It is shown that this task can be reduced to an empty rhombus resonator with the vertex angle defined by an external magnetic field, provided that the magnetic anisotropy of the ferrite is strong. Therefore, the statistics of eigenfrequencies for TM modes is described by the Brody or semi-Poisson distribution with some exceptional cases.

We consider the statistics of currents for electron (
microwave
) transmission through rectangular and circular billiards. For the resonant transmission the current distribution is describing by the universal distribution [ A. I. Saichev , J. Phys. A 35, L87 (2002) ]. For the more typical case of nonresonant transmission the current statistics reveals features of the current channeling (corridor effect) interior of the billiard. The numerical statistics is compared with analytical distributions.

Transport through quantum and
microwave
cavities is studied by analytic and numerical techniques. In particular, we consider the statistics for a finite net probability current (Poynting vector)
flowing through an open ballistic Sinai billiard to which two opposite leads/wave guides are attached. We show that if the net probability current is small, the scattering wave function inside the billiard is well approximated by a Gaussian random complex field. In this case, the current statistics are universal and obey simple analytic forms. For larger net currents, these forms still apply over several orders of magnitudes. However, small characteristic deviations appear in the tail regions. Although the focus is on electron and
microwave
billiards, the analysis is relevant also to other classical wave cavities as, for example, open planar acoustic reverberation rooms, elastic membranes, and water surface waves in irregularly shaped vessels.

In this paper, the measured
microwave
dielectric data are presented for some soils collected in the forest-tundra area located at 64° N and 100° E, which is near the city of Tura in East Siberia. The measurements were developed in the range from 0.3 to 12.5 GHz at the temperature of 24°C. The Debye spectroscopic parameters related to the bound soil water (BSW) and free soil water (FSW) were derived with the use of the generalized refractive mixing dielectric model (GRMDM) [1], [2]. The foresttundra soils analyzed were found to contain the smaller percentage of bound water, with its complex dielectric constant (CDC) being less than that of the soils in the agricultural zones of Siberia [3]-[5], in spite of the fact that the forest-tundra soils demonstrated smaller clay and humus percentage as compared to the agricultural soils. The results obtained can be considered as a substantial contribution to the soil dielectric data base for the northern circumpolar region, which is a compulsory element of physically based both the remote sensing models and retrieving algorithms.

An electrically controlled phase shifter is described, which is based on a resonant microstrip structure with a nematic liquid crystal substrate. It is shown that the proposed device can operate in the centimeter and millimeter wavelength range.

This paper reports on a joint theoretical and experimental study of the Pauli quantum-mechanical stress tensor T(alpha beta)(x,y) for open two-dimensional chaotic billiards. In the case of a finite current flow through the system the interior wave function is expressed as psi=u + iv. With the assumption that u and v are Gaussian random fields we derive analytic expressions for the statistical distributions for the quantum stress tensor components T(alpha beta). The Gaussian random field model is tested for a Sinai billiard with two opposite leads by analyzing the scattering wave functions obtained numerically from the corresponding Schrodinger equation. analogs. Hence we report on
microwave
measurements for an open two-dimensional cavity and how the quantum stress tensor analog is extracted from the recorded electric field. The agreement with the theoretical predictions for the distributions for T(alpha beta)(x,y) is quite satisfactory for small net currents. However, a distinct difference between experiments and theory is observed at higher net flow, which could be explained using a Gaussian random field, where the net current was taken into account by an additional plane wave with a preferential direction and amplitude.

We demonstrate the
microwave
detection effect in a granular La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 sample. Dc voltage generated by the sample in response to
microwave
irradiation below the Curie temperature is found to be dependent on the applied magnetic field. The magnetic field dependence of the dc voltage has a broad peak resembling an absorption line. The detection effect depends substantially on the magnetic history of the sample; however, identical measurement conditions provide reproducibility of the experimental results. The detected dc voltage increases linearly with
microwave
power and strongly depends on a bias current through the sample. According to the results of systematic measurements, there exist two contributions to a value of the detected output signal. The first is magneto-independent; it can be explained in the framework of a mechanism used traditionally for description of the rectification effect in metal-insulator-metal junctions with nonmagnetic metals. The other is magneto-dependent; it originates from the interplay between the spin-dependent current through magnetic tunnel junctions and spin dynamics of the grains, which form these junctions in the sample.
