Аннотация: Влагосодержание поверхностного слоя почвенного покрова (ВПС ПП) является одним из ключевых параметров, используемых для количественного описания гидрологического состояния поверхности почвы, а также при оценке доступности почвенной влаги растительному покрову. Поскольку коэффициент обратного радарного рассеяния чувствителен к влажности почвы, в настоящей работе применялись данные Sentinel-1 для картирования влажности почвы с высоким пространственным разрешением с целью отображения пространственных и временных закономерностей распределения почвенной влаги на уровне поля в практике управления почвенными и водными ресурсами. Прямые измерения ВПС ПП толщиной 5 см были реализованы в результате проведённого полевого мониторинга на экспериментальном участке, расположенном на территории Всероссийского научно-исследовательского института орошаемого земледелия (пос. Водный, Волгоградская обл.). В заданных координатах на тестовом участке были отобраны соответствующие почвенные образцы, влагосодержание которых было определено с использованием термостатно-весового метода. В результате создан первый точечный слой геоданных ВПС ПП. По данным радарной съёмки Sentinel-1 была выполнена оценка ВПС ПП для того же пространственного экстента экспериментального участка. Значения растрового набора значений влажности почвы по данным дистанционного зондирования (ВПС ПП-ДЗЗ) в пределах границ экспериментального участка были рассчитаны по данным радарной съёмки Sentinel-1. Эти расчёты основаны на оценке отражательной способности почвы, полученной методом нейронной сети, и дальнейшего решения обратной задачи с использованием диэлектрической модели, учитывающей содержание глинистой фракции почвы тестового участка. В ходе тренировки нейронной сети использовались входные данные коэффициентов обратного радарного рассеяния, измеренные Sentinel-1 на согласованной вертикальной и перекрёстной поляризации, и выходное значение отражательной способности почвы, оценённое на основе точечного слоя геоданных ВПС ПП и диэлектрической модели. Ортотрансформация снимка Sentinel-1 осуществлялась с использованием цифровой модели рельефа (ЦМР), созданной в результате стереосъёмки, выполненной с использованием беспилотного летательного аппарата Phantom 4 Pro. В результате сравнения наборов геоданных ВПС ПП и ВПС ПП-ДЗЗ, полученных в ходе полевого мониторинга и дистанционного зондирования соответственно, были оценены значения коэффициента детерминации (0,948) и стандартного отклонения (2,04 %). Этот результат подтверждает удовлетворительную линейную корреляцию между наборами ВПС ПП и ВПС ПП-ДЗЗ. Сравнение двух полученных точечных слоёв геоданных ВПС ПП указывает на удовлетворительное воспроизведение первого набора вторым. Такой вывод получен в результате наземного мониторинга и картографического моделирования, выполненного с помощью разработанного метода с использованием данных радарной съёмки Sentinel-1 и характеристик ЦМР. Результаты исследования позволяют сделать вывод, что разработанный метод может рассматриваться в качестве научной и методологической основы новой технологии картографического мониторинга ВПС ПП, которая рассматривается в настоящее время в качестве одной из основных базовых характеристик для использования в точном орошаемом земледелии.The surface moisture content (SMC) is one of the key parameters, which is used for the quantitative description of soil hydrological state as well as the estimation of soil water availability to vegetation canopy. Since the radar backscattering coefficient is sensitive to SMC, in this investigation Sentinel-1 data was used for soil moisture mapping with a high spatial resolution, based on which the spatial and temporal patterns of soil moisture distribution at field level was mapped for implementing in the management of soil and water resources. Direct measurements of SMC in a layer thickness of 5 cm were carried out during field monitoring at an experimental test site, located on the territory of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Irrigated Agriculture (Vodny village, Volgograd region). In the given coordinates on the test site, soil samples were taken, the moisture content of which was determined using the thermostat-weight method. As a result, the first point georeferenced layer of SMC was created. At the same time, the estimation of SMC based on Sentinel-1 radar observations was performed for the same spatial extent of the test site. The raster set of SMC within the boundaries of the test site was calculated from the Sentinel-1 remote sensing (RS) observations. This layer will be named SMC-RS. These calculations were based on the assessment of soil reflectivity obtained by neural network (NN) method and the further solution of the inverse problem using a dielectric model, which takes into account the soil clay content at the test site. During the training of the NN, backscatter coefficients measured by Sentinel-1 at co- and cross-polarization were used as input data. As the output data of the NN, the value of soil reflectivity, which was estimated based on point georeferenced layer of SMC and a dielectric model were used. Terrain correction of Sentinel-1 image was carried out using a digital elevation model (DEM), created by Phantom 4 Pro unmanned aerial vehicle as the result of stereo photography. As a result of comparing the georeferenced data sets SMC and SMC-RS obtained during field monitoring and remote sensing, respectively, the following values of determination coefficient (0.948) and standard deviation (2.04 %) were estimated. This result confirms a satisfactory linear correlation between both data sets. The comparison of the two layers of point georeferenced data sets indicates that the first set is well correlated by the second. This conclusion was obtained as the result of ground monitoring and cartographic modelling carried out using the developed method, Sentinel-1 observation and DEM. The developed method can be considered as the scientific and methodological basis of the new technology for the cartographic monitoring of SMC, which is currently treated as one of the main basic characteristics to be used in precision irrigated agriculture. © 2020 Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Аннотация: Films were prepared from 2% solutions of biodegradable poly-3-hydroxybutyrate [P(3HB)] and investigated. The polymer was synthesized by the Cupriavidus necator B-10646 bacterium cultivated using various carbon sources (glucose and glycerol of different degrees of purity, containing 0.3 to 17.93% impurities). Glycerol as the substrate influenced molecular-weight properties and crystallinity of the polymer without affecting its temperature characteristics. The P(3HB) specimens synthesized from glycerol had reduced Mw (300–400 kDa) and degree of crystallinity (50–55%) compared to the specimens synthesized from glucose (860 kDa and 76%, respectively). The low-crystallinity P(3HB) specimens, regardless of the degree of purity of glycerol, produced a beneficial effect on the properties of polymer films, which had a better developed folded surface and increased hydrophilicity. The values of the highest roughness (Ra) of the films synthesized from glycerol were 1.8 to 4.0 times lower and the water angles 1.4–1.6 times smaller compared to the films synthesized from glucose (71.75 nm and 87.4°, respectively). Those films performed better as cell scaffolds: the number of viable NIH fibroblasts was 1.7–1.9 times higher than on polystyrene (control) or films of P(3HB) synthesized from glucose.

Аннотация: Layered magnetic films of Co–P alloy, which are sets of laminates with certain atomic and chemical structures, have been investigated by spin-wave resonance. Coatings of two types were synthesized: a magnonic crystal (amorphous Co(P)/fcc Co(P))N and gradient Co(P) films. They exhibit two different modifications of the spin-wave resonance (SWR) spectrum. In the first case, the SWR spectrum is described as Hn(n) ~ n2 with a modification caused by the formation of the first stop band of the magnonic crystal. In the second case, the dependence of resonance fields Hn of the spin-wave modes on mode number n has the form of Hn(n) ~ n2/3. Thermal annealing leads to crystallization (amorphous alloy → fcc) and causes transformation of the layered films to the films of single-phase Co–P alloys, which is accompanied by a change in the shapes of the SWR spectra and occurrence of a “exchange kink” spectral modification.

Аннотация: The saturation magnetizations, local magnetic anisotropy field and coercivity values of FeCo film plated under various processing conditions have been investigated to optimize soft magnetic properties. Herein, we introduce a very promising processing technique based on the electrodeless deposition of FeCo film with carbohydrates as reducing agents. The produced FeCo film demonstrated significantly better saturation magnetization values and less contaminations, compared to those for the sample preparing with conventional reducing agent (sodium hypophosphite). The surface morphology and coercivities of FeCo films are dependent on the iron content and type of reducing agent. The coercive force values range from 12 up to 30 Oe and the saturation magnetization from 150 to 240 emu/g depending on the bath composition and deposition parameters. Maximum of saturation magnetization magnitude is reached for FeCo film with 30% cobalt. The local anisotropy field value of FeCo alloys increases with a decrease in Fe content for all reducing agent types.

Аннотация: Ferrihydrite is a low-crystalline nanoscale matter. The uncompensated magnetic moment of the ferrihydrite caused by the antiferromagnetic ordering of the magnetic moments of iron atoms and leads to the magnetic properties very similar to those of ferro- and ferrimagnetic nanoparticles. In this study, we investigated the biogenic ferrihydrite nanoparticles with the narrow size distribution and an average diameter of ≈2 nm obtained by the bacteria life cycle. The features caused by the surface effects and the inhomogeneous structure of ferrihydrite have been examined in the temperature range of 4–300 K using Mossbauer spectroscopy and magnetometry. Based on the Mossbauer data, we identified the superparamagnetic blocking temperature at the temperature of 30 K for the largest ferryhidrite particles. We established that the exceptional magnetic anisotropy of ferrihydrite (KV=1.2∙105 erg/cm3 and KS=0.1 erg/cm2) is reached because of the highly developed ferrihydrite nanoparticles’ surface. According to the Mossbauer data, we propose a core-shell structural model of the biogenic ferrihydrite particles. We found that the size of the dense core depends on the particle size. The well-crystallized core is formed only for nanoparticles larger than ≈2 nm, whereas smaller particles consist entirely of a matter with a lower density of iron atoms.

Аннотация: First-row transition metal (TM) atoms adsorption and migration on nanoporus 2D materials like bigraphene with double vacancies and g-C3N4 as the active sites for TM nanocluster's growth was studied within the framework of density functional theory. Both thermodynamic and kinetic aspects of composite synthesis were discussed. It was found that potential barriers of adatom's migration from bigraphene's outer surface to the interlayer space through the double vacancy are rather low values. High potential barriers of TM migration along the carbon plane prevents TM clusterization due to enhanced chemical activity of double vacancies which gives a possibility to capture the surface adatoms. As was shown for the monolayer graphene, the decrease of vacancies concentration reduces the barrier of adatom migration along the surface while the second graphene sheet in bigraphene stabilizes the structure. The behavior of TM-atom regarding g-CN2 and g-CN1 nanosheets was investigated. Potential energy surfaces were obtained and discussed. The migration barriers were found surmountable that means high probability of migration of TM adatoms to global minima and formation of TM vacancies. Comparison of barriers values with Boltzmann factor demonstrated that just standalone temperature fluctuations cannot initiate structural transitions. The properties of designed structures can be of interest of catalysts and biosensors for biomedical applications.

Аннотация: In this work, magnetite nanoparticles coated with polysaccharides were synthesized. Arabinogalactan and chitosan were used as polysaccharides. The possibilities of immobilization of biospecific molecules on the surface of the obtained composites were studied. Experiments on covalent immobilization of biospecific molecules on magnetic nanoparticles coated with a polysaccharide showed a high density of immobilized molecules. This suggests the use of such materials in bioanalytical systems or as affinity sorbents.

Аннотация: Hybrid modes originating from the coupling of the Tamm and surface plasmon polaritons excited in a one-dimensional resonant photonic structure are demonstrated. The structure represents a photonic crystal bounded by a nanocomposite film consisting of a transparent matrix and silver nanoparticles uniformly distributed over its volume. In comparison with structures on planar metal films the volume concentration and shape of nanoparticles are of great help in configuring the hybrid mode properties, including their wavelength and splitting. Also the radiation incidence angle variation opens the possibility of fine-tuning the energy spectra of the structure. We demonstrate the high-sensitivity of optical sensors based on the resonant photonic structure.

Аннотация: В данной работе был изучен процесс восстановления растворов Ag (I) цитратными комплексами Fe (II), который позволяет получать наночастицы серебра с высокой стабильностью и концентрацией более 60 г/л. В ходе работы было установлено влияние скорости введения, скорости перемешивания, концентрации реагентов, рН среды и некоторых постсинтетических операций на средний размер наночастиц. Показано, что снижение концентрации Ag (I) и повышение концентрации стабилизатора, доведение рН реакционной среды до 7 позволяют получать наиболее мелкие и однородные частицы. В результате были найдены оптимальные условия, которые дали возможность уменьшить размер частиц и вместе с тем снизить концентрацию реактивов на 33 %. По данным РФЭС, ПЭМ, DLS и ИК были получены наночастицы металлического серебра с размером 6.5±1.8 нм, стабилизированные продуктом частичного распада цитрат-иона.The reaction of reduction solution of Ag (I) by Fe (II) citrate complex was studied herein. This allows you to receive silver nanoparticles with high stability with a concentration above 60 g/l. It was determined that the nanoparticles size depends on the injection rate, mixing rate, reagent concentration, pH and some post-synthetic operations on the average size of nanoparticles. It was shown that decreasing the concentration of Ag (I) and increasing the concentration of stabilizer also bringing pH to 7 lead to small and uniform particles. Optimal conditions were found that made it possible to reduce particle size and reduce the concentration of reagents by 33 % in the results. According to XPS, TEM, DLS and FTIR datas, nanoparticles of metallic silver with a size of 6.5±1.8 nm were obtained, which stabilized by the product of partial decay of the citrate ion.

Аннотация: В данной работе экспериментально исследовалась возможность дистанционного зондирования влажности в поверхностном слое минеральной почвы на частоте 5,4ГГц (С-диапазон) и на частоте 0,63ГГц (P-диапазон). Применялась бистатическая схема измерения коэффициента отражения в свободном пространстве на фиксированном угле зондирования 35° на горизонтальной и вертикальной поляризации. Вследствие широкой диаграммы направленности используемых антенн применялся радиоимпульсный метод для разделения во временной области прямого и отраженного от почвенного покрова сигналов. В качестве приемной и передающей антенн использовалась рупорная (5,4ГГц) и логопериодическая (0,63ГГц) антенны. Радиоимпульсы формировались с использованием векторного анализатора цепей Agilent N9918A FieldFoх. Методика оценки коэффициента отражения состояла в измерении максимума огибающей радиоимпульса, отраженного от почвенного покрова относительно максимума огибающей радиоимпульса, отраженного от металлического экрана, размещенного на почвенном покрове. Экспериментально установлено, что дистанционно измеренная объемная влажность почвы на частоте 5,4ГГц, в приближении однородного диэлектрического полупространства, с квадратом коэффициента корреляции 0,780-0,897 и среднеквадратическим отклонением 1,3-2,3% (в зависимости от используемой поляризации) согласуется с влажностью поверхности почвы, измеренной контактным методом в слое 0-0,5см. Использование частоты 5,4ГГц как основной для восстановления влажности поверхности почвы нуждается в дополнительной проверке в различных условиях шероховатости поверхности почвы и растительного покрова. Предложенная модель профиля влажности почвы в виде кусочно-линейной функции позволяет дистанционно рефлектометрическим методом на двух частотах измерять объемную влажность почвы в слое 10см с квадратом коэффициента корреляции 0,758 и среднеквадратическим отклонением 2,4% относительно влажности почвы, измеренной контактным методом. Автор видит неоспоримое преимущество использования сверхширокополосных (СШП) импульсных сигналов, спектр которых сосредоточен в мегагерцовом диапазоне частот, для дальнейшего развития технологии дистанционного измерения профилей влажности в пахотном слое агропочв. Использование сверхширокополосных электромагнитных импульсов с непрерывным спектром в мегагерцовом диапазоне частот позволит решить многопараметрическую задачу по восстановлению профиля влажности в пахотном слое агропочв. В будущем технология СШП импульсного зондирования благодаря доступности миниатюрных электронных устройств может быть реализована для платформ сверхлёгкого беспилотного летательного аппарата с целью картирования влажности в пахотном слое агропочв.In this work, the possibility of remote sensing of moisture in the mineral topsoil at a frequency of 5.4 GHz (C-band) and at a frequency of 0.63 GHz (P-band) was experimentally investigated. Bistatic scheme for measuring of the reflection coefficient at a fixed angle of 25° on horizontal and vertical polarization was used. Due to the wide radiation pattern of the used antennas, the radio impulse method was used to separate in the time domain the direct and reflected signals from the soil cover. As the receiving and transmitting antennas the pair of horn (5.4 GHz) and pair log-periodic (0.63 GHz) antennas were used. Radio impulses were generated in an unreal time scale using an Agilent N9918A FieldFox vector network analyzer. The technique for measuring the reflection coefficient consisted in the measurement of the maximum of the envelope of the radio impulse, reflected from the soil cover, relative to the maximum of the envelope of the radio impulse reflected from the metal screen placed on the soil cover. It is experimentally established that the soil moisture, which was remotely measured at a frequency of 5.4 GHz, in the approximation of a homogeneous dielectric half-space, with a correlation coefficient of 0.780-0.897 and a standard deviation of 1.3-2.3% (depending on wave polarization) is consistent with the soil surface moisture measured by the contact method in a layer of 0-0.5 cm. Using the frequency of 5.4 GHz as the main one for retrieving soil surface moisture needs additional verification in various conditions of roughness of the soil surface and vegetation cover. The proposed model of the soil moisture profile in the form of a piecewise-linear function allows remotely measuring on two-frequencies soil moisture in topsoil with a correlation coefficient of 0.758 and a standard deviation of 2.4% relative to the soil moisture measured by the contact method. The author sees the indisputable advantage of using ultra-wideband (UWB) pulsed signals, the spectrum of which is concentrated in the megahertz frequency range, for the further development of technology for remote measurement of moisture profiles in the arable layer of agricultural soils. The use of ultra-wideband electromagnetic pulses with a continuous spectrum in the megahertz frequency range will allow us to solve the multi-parameter problem of restoring the moisture profile in the arable layer of agricultural soils. In the future, the UWB technology of pulsed sounding due to the availability of miniature electronic devices can be implemented for platforms of an ultra-light unmanned aerial vehicle with the aim of mapping moisture in the arable layer of agricultural soils.

Аннотация: Based on the results of in situ electron diffraction study of the solid-state reaction and electrical resistivity measurements on the Al/Ag thin films with an atomic ratio of Al : Ag = 1 : 3, the temperature of the reaction onset has been established and a model of the structural phase transitions has been proposed. The solid-state reaction begins at 70°C with the formation of the Al–Ag solid solution at the interface between the aluminum and silver nanolayers. It has been found that, in the course of the reaction, the intermetallic compounds γ-Ag2Al → μ-Ag3Al are successively formed. It is shown that the possibility of the formation of the μ‑Ag3Al phase during the solid-state reaction in the Al/Ag thin films depends on the aluminum-to-silver ratio, while the formation of the μ-Ag3Al phase begins only after all fcc aluminum has reacted.

Аннотация: Cholesteric droplets dispersed in polymer with conical boundary conditions have been studied. The director configurations are identified by the polarising microscopy technique. The axisymmetric twisted axial-bipolar configuration with the surface circular defect at the droplet’s equator is formed at the relative chirality parameter N0≤2.9 . The intermediate director configuration with the deformed circular defect is realised at 2.9N03.95 , and the layer-like structure with the twisted surface defect loop is observed at N0≥3.95 . The cholesteric layers in the layer-like structure are slightly distorted although the cholesteric helix is untwisted.

Аннотация: Ferrihydrite nanoparticles (2–3 nm in size), which are products of the vital activity of microorganisms, are studied by the ferromagnetic resonance method. The “core” of ferrihydrite particles is ordered antiferromagnetically, and the presence of defects leads to the appearance of an uncompensated magnetic moment in nanoparticles and the characteristic superparamagnetic behavior. It is established from the ferromagnetic resonance data that the field dependence of the frequency is described by the expression 2πν/γ = HR + H A(T=0) (1 − T/T*), where γ is the gyromagnetic ratio, HR is the resonance field, HA ≈ 7 kOe, and T* ≈ 50 K. The induced anisotropy HA is due to the spin-glass state of the near-surface regions.

Аннотация: The structure and magnetic properties of CoPt–Al2O3 nanocomposite films synthesized by the annealing of Al/(Co3O4 + Pt) bilayers on a MgO(001) substrate at 650°C in vacuum are investigated. The synthesized composite films contain ferromagnetic CoPt grains with an average size of 25–45 nm enclosed in a nonconducting Al2O3 matrix. The saturation magnetization (Ms ~ 330 G) and coercivity (Hc ≈ 6 kOe) of the films are measured in the film plane and perpendicular to it. The obtained films are characterized by a spatial rotational magnetic anisotropy, which makes it possible to arbitrarily set the easy magnetization axis in the film plane or perpendicular to it using a magnetic field stronger than the coercivity (H ˃ Hc).

Аннотация: In this study, a new approach to identify the freeze/thaw states of tundra topsoil was developed based on the polarization ratio index, which was calculated from the reflectivity values of soil. Reflectivity was estimated from radiometric measurements of the SMAP satellite using the values of vertical polarization brightness temperature measured by the AMSR-2 radiometer at 6.9 GHz; this value was used to characterize the effective temperature of the soil. The proposed approach was tested using weather station data on soil surface temperatures for six test sites located in the North Slope of Alaska and the Yamal Peninsula collected from April 2015 to June 2018. The modified polarization ratio index, calculated from values of reflectivity rather than from brightness temperatures, significantly improved the possibility of determining the reference values of the index in the winter and in the summer. During testing, the modified index showed a good correlation between the dates of transition through the threshold level and soil temperature transition through 0ºC, as recorded at meteorological stations.

Аннотация: The mechanisms of coupling between the lattice modes of a two-dimensional (2D) array consisting of Al nanoparticles and the localized modes of individual Al nanoparticles have been studied in detail. The results were obtained employing the finite-difference time-domain method (FDTD) and the generalized Mie theory. It was shown that interactions of single particles with 2D lattice modes significantly change the extinction spectra depending on the particle radius and the lattice period. The Rayleigh anomalies of higher orders contribute to formation of hybrid modes resulting in increase of the extinction efficiency in short wavelength range of the spectrum. It was shown that high intensity magnetic modes are excited in aluminum nanoparticles arrays. The patterns of spatial electromagnetic field distribution at the frequencies of hybrid modes have been studied. We note that comprehensive understanding the mode coupling mechanisms in arrays paves the way for engineering different types of modern photonic devices with controllable optical properties.

Аннотация: The propagation of a laser beam through a hybrid-aligned nematic layer with a surface disclination line has been investigated. A model of the light interference has been developed to consider the scattering by the structural inhomogeneities. The analytical expression that includes the factor characterizing an exponential decrease in the light scattering has been obtained. The dependence of the intensity of light transmitted through the layer on the magnetic field has been measured. The dependence has been accompanied by the interference oscillations. The theoretical expression is consistent with the experiment, which confirms the correctness of the model concepts.
