Аннотация: The effect of multiple reflection in the process of electron transport on the current-voltage characteristics of an adsorbed magnetic atom with single-ion anisotropy has been investigated. All orders of the perturbation theory with respect to the parameter of coupling between the contacts and the multilevel impurity have been taken into account by the Keldysh diagram technique with the use of Hubbard operators. It has been shown that the current-voltage characteristics of the system in a strongly nonequilibrium regime contains regions of negative differential conductance. The ways of enhancing this effect are discussed.

Аннотация: The Feshbach projection formalism is applied to consider quantum transmission through a tight-binding wire subject to a time-periodic potential. The wire is coupled with two leads via the coupling constant v(C). The periodicity of the potential implies an additional temporal dimension that reduces the problem to stationary transmission through an effectively two-dimensional lattice system. The non-Hermitian effective Hamiltonian is formulated. Thist allows us to trace the redistribution of resonance positions and resonance widths with the growth of v(C) from the weak-coupling to the strong-coupling regime.

Аннотация: We consider a potential scattering of a Bose-Hubbard dimer in a one-dimensional optical lattice. A numerical approach based on an effective non-Hermitian Hamiltonian has been developed for solving the scattering problem. It allows us to compute the tunneling and dissociation probabilities for an arbitrary shape of the potential barrier and an arbitrary kinetic energy of the dimer. The developed approach has been used to address the problem of two-particle decay out of a trap. In particular, it is shown that the presence of dissociation channels significantly decreases the nonescape probability due to single-particle escape to those channels.

Аннотация: The features of spatial and temporal evolution of two short laser pulses propagating in three-level medium under conditions of coherent population trapping and adiabatic population transfer is investigated in adiabatic approximation. It is shown that in both cases pulses can penetrate into a medium at a distance considerably exceeding the length of linear absorption of a single weak probe pulse in absence of a coupling pulse at adjacent transition. The difference of spatial and temporal evolution of level populations in processes of coherent population trapping and adiabatic population transfer is demonstrated. Also we show that the concept of dressed-field pulses is consequence of Manley-Raw relation.

Аннотация: The spatial and temporal dynamics of two short pulses propagating in an optically dense medium of resonant three-level Lambda-atoms is investigated numerically and analytically. The maximum coherence for the Raman transition due to coherent population trapping. it is shown that, at the initial stage of propagation, the waveforms of such pulses only slightly change along the length of the medium, which may considerably exceed the length of linear absorption for a single weak pulse. As the length of the absorbing medium increases, the energy of the probe (first) pulse is completely transferred into the second (control) pulse.

Аннотация: Spatio-temporal dynamics of two short laser pulses propagating in an absorbing medium, which consists of one-and two-photon resonant ii-atoms, is investigated in the adiabatic approximation. We give an analytical solution and compare it with numerical simulations. It is shown that pulses may propagate in a medium, whose thickness is considerably greater than the length of the linear absorption of a single weak probe wave. Finally, full transfer of the probe pulse energy into the coupling pulse takes place. A vector model of the adiabatic interaction of two pulses with three-level atom is proposed.

Аннотация: We consider quantum transmission through double-bend Pi- and Z-shaped waveguides controlled by the finger gate potential. Using the effective non-Hermitian Hamiltonian approach we explain the resonances in transmission. We show a difference in transmission in the short waveguides that is the result of different chirality in Z and Pi waveguides. We demonstrate that the potential selectively affects the resonant widths resulting in the occurrence of bound states in the continuum.

Аннотация: We discuss signatures of quantum chaos in terms of distributions of nodal points, saddle points, and streamlines for coherent electron transport through two-dimensional billiards, which are either nominally integrable or chaotic. As typical examples of the two cases we select rectangular and Sinai billiards. We have numerically evaluted distribution functions for nearest distances between nodal points and found that there is a generic form for open chaotic billiards through which a net current is passed. We have also evaluated the distribution functions for nodal points with specific vorticity (winding number) as well as for saddle points. The distributions may be used as signatures of quantum chaos in open systems. All distributions are well reproduced using random complex linear combinations of nearly monochromatic states in nominally closed billiards. In the case of rectangular billiards with simple sharp-cornered leads the distributions have characteristic features related to order among the nodal points. A flaring or rounding of the contact regions may, however, induce a crossover to nodal point distributions and current flow typical for quantum chaos. For an irregular arrangement of nodal points, as for example in the Sinai billiard, the quantum flow lines become very complex and volatile, recalling chaos among classical trajectories. Similarities with percolation are pointed out.
