Аннотация: The concentration dependence of the entropy of doped Mott-Hubbard insulators has been considered within the t-J model. It has been shown that a change in the type and statistics of charge carriers as compared to the Fermi gas leads to a radical change in the entropy s, in particular, to the giant growth of the entropy upon doping. The quantity a,s/a,x a parts per thousand k (B) is approximately consistent with the experimental data for HTSC cuprates in the pseudogap phase.

Ключевые слова (''Своб.индексиров.''): high-temperature superconductivity--electron-phonon coupling--density-functional theory--generalized tight-binding approach
Аннотация: We present results for the electron-phonon interaction of the Γ-point phonons in the tetragonal high-temperature phase of La2 CuO4 obtained from a hybrid scheme, combining density-functional theory (DFT) with the generalized tight-binding approach. As a starting point, eigenfrequencies and eigenvectors for the Γ-point phonons are determined from DFT within the frozen phonon approach utilizing the augmented plane wave + local orbitals method. The so obtained characteristics of electron-phonon coupling are converted into parameters of the generalized tight-binding method. This approach is a version of cluster perturbation theory and takes the strong on-site electron correlations into account. The obtained parameters describe the interaction of phonons with Hubbard fermions which form quasiparticle bands in strongly correlated electron systems. As a result, it is found that the Γ-point phonons with the strongest electron-phonon interaction are the A2u modes (236 cm-1, 131 cm-1 and 476 cm-1). Finally it is shown, that the single-electron spectral-weight redistribution between different Hubbard fermion quasiparticles results in a suppression of electron-phonon interaction which is strongest for the triplet Hubbard band with z oriented copper and oxygen electrons. © 2015 Elsevier B.V. Ключевые слова (''Своб.индексиров.''): lda plus gtb method--strongly-correlated systems--band structure
Аннотация: High-T-c superconductors with CuO2 layers, manganites La1-xSrxMnO3 and cobaltites LaCoO3 present several mysteries in their physical properties. Most of them are believed to come from the strongly-correlated nature of these materials. From the theoretical viewpoint, there are many hidden rocks in making the consistent description of the band structure and low-energy physics starting from the Fermi-liquid approach. Here, we discuss the alternative method - multielectron approach to the electronic structure calculations for the Mott insulators - called LDA + GTB (local density approximation + generalized tight-binding) method. Its origin is a straightforward generalization of the Hubbard perturbation theory in the atomic limit and the multiband p - d Hamiltonian with the parameters calculated within LDA. We briefly discuss the method and focus on its applications to cuprates, manganites and cobaltites.

Аннотация: The influence of interlayer hoppings on the superconducting transition temperature (T c) in bilayer cuprates has been studied. The parameter of hopping between layers is expressed as t ⊥(k) = t ⊥(cos(k x ) − cos(k y ))2 and treated as a small perturbation for the states of two CuO2 planes described by the t-t′-t″-J* model. In the generalized mean field approximation for dx2−y2{d_{{x. } - {y. }}} symmetry of the superconducting gap, neither the interlayer hopping or exchange interaction, nor the pair hopping between CuO2 layers provides an additional mechanism of Cooper pair formation or an increase in T c. In the concentration dependence of T c, the bilayer splitting of the upper Hubbard band of quasi-holes is manifested as two peaks with temperatures slightly lower than the maximum T c for a single-layer cuprate. Interlayer antiferromagnetic spin correlations suppress bilayer splitting.

Аннотация: Doping and strain dependences of the electronic structure of the CuO6-octahedra layer within LDA+GTB method in the frameworks of six-band p-d model are calculated. Band structure and Fermi surface of the quasiparticle excitations in the effective Hubbard model are characterized by inhomogeneous distribution of the k-dependent spectral weight. Doping results in reconstruction of the band structure, redistribution of the spectral weight over dispersion surface, and reconstruction of Fermi surface from small hole pockets in the underdoped region to large hole contour in the overdoped region through two quantum phase transitions (QPT). Strain increasing leads to displacement of the valence and conductivity bands, bandwidths decreasing, and shift of the concentrations corresponding to QPTs. Strain dependences of the antiferromagnetic exchange coupling and DOS at the Fermi level determining superconducting temperature Tc are obtained. Effective exchange coupling in the equation for Tc demonstrates monotonic strain dependence.

Аннотация: We present a theoretical study of the electronic structure of bilayer HTSC cuprates and its evolution under doping and in a high magnetic field. Analysis is based on the t-t'-taEuro(3)-J* model in the generalized Hartree-Fock approximation. Possibility of tunneling between CuO2 layers is taken into account in the form of a nonzero integral of hopping between the orbitals of adjacent planes and is included in the scheme of the cluster form of perturbation theory. The main effect of the coupling between two CuO2 layers in a unit cell is the bilayer splitting manifested in the presence of antibonding and bonding bands formed by a combination of identical bands of the layers themselves. A change in the doping level induces reconstruction of the band structure and the Fermi surface, which gives rise to a number of quantum phase transitions. A high external magnetic field leads to a fundamentally different form of electronic structure. Quantum phase transitions in the field are observed not only under doping, but also upon a variation of the field magnitude. Because of tunneling between the layers, quantum transitions are also split; as a result, a more complex sequence of the Lifshitz transitions than in single-layer structures is observed.

Аннотация: The abnormal "normal" state and origin of high temperature superconductivity in cuprates are still not clear [1-2]. The strong electron correlations (SEC) are known to be one of the main difficulties for the theory of high- Tc cuprates. The conventional LDA (local density approximation) approach to the band structure fails in the regime of SEC. Various realistic multiband models of a CuO2 layer at low energy result in the effective Hubbard or t - J models [3-7]. The hybrid LDA+GTB scheme [8] generates the low-energy effective t - t? - t? - J* model with all parameters calculated ab initio.

Аннотация: Electron-phonon interaction is sequentially derived from a realistic p-d multiband model for the cuprates under conditions of strong electron correlations. The electronic structure is described using the representation of the Hubbard X operators in a generalized tight-binding method. Dependences of the diagonal and off-diagonal (on lattice sites) matrix elements of electron-phonon interaction on the wavevectors are found for three phonon modes, namely, breathing, apical breathing, and bending modes. The interactions of the breathing and bending modes with electrons are shown to contribute to the formation of kinks in the (0; 0)-(pi; pi) and (0; 0)-(pi; 0) directions, respectively. A low-energy t-J* model with phonons is developed; apart from electron-phonon interaction, it also includes spin-phonon interaction. The elimination of phonons gives an effective electron-electron interaction that depends on the occupation number of a multielectron term and on the carrier concentration due to strong electron correlations. Аннотация: In many cases the standard perturbation approach appears to be too simple to describe precisely the angle resolved photoemission spectrum of strongly correlated electron system. In particular, to describe the momentum asymmetry observed in photoemission spectra of undoped high-Tc cuprates a phenomenological approach based on extremely correlated Fermi-liquid model has been recently introduced [1]. Here we analyze the general structure of the Green function of quasiparticles in strongly correlated electron systems and stress that it is defined not only by the self-energy of Hubbard quasiparticles but also by a strength operator. The later leads to an additional odd momentum contribution to the spectral function and alone can explain the observed asymmetry. So, the asymmetry of the ARPES spectra can be a measure of the strength of electron correlations[2].

Аннотация: The generalized tight-binding method presents a practical realization of the scheme that describes quasiparticles in a strongly correlated electron system and consists of exact intra-cell diagonalization of the model Hamiltonian and perturbative treatment of the inter-cell hoppings. In the present paper this method and its ab initio modification are applied to undoped and weakly doped HTSC cuprates. Results are in very good agreement with the experimental ARPES data on various compounds. Starting with a multiband p-d model the realistic effective low-energy Hamiltonian of strongly correlated electrons interacting with spin fluctuations and phonons is derived both for hole- and electron-doped systems. Without electron-phonon interaction the pure magnetic mechanism of pairing does not provide the correct value of T, even for single-layer La2-xSrxCuO4 and Nd2-xCexCuO4. Аннотация: Electron-phonon interaction in cuprate oxides is consistently determined from realistic multi band p-d model in strong correlations limit. We consider the momenta dependence matrix elements of the EPI for modes which most coupled to electrons and analyze a possible mechanism of kink formation. By unitary transformation we obtain an effective low-energy single-band Hamiltonian that includes only electron-electron interactions renormalized by the electron-phonon coupling and depends on occupation factors. Аннотация: Theoretical investigations of the properties of high-T c superconducting cuprates within the LDA + GTB method taking into account the magnetic and phonon pairing mechanisms have been reviewed. These properties are the concentration-dependent electronic structure, quantum phase transitions with a change in the topology of the Fermi surface, and the superconducting phase of the d_{x. - y. } symmetry.

Аннотация: Several experimental and theoretical studies indicate the existence of a critical point separating the underdoped and overdoped regions of the high-T-c cuprates' phase diagram. There are at least two distinct proposals on the critical concentration and its physical origin. The first one is associated with the pseudogap formation for p p*, with p* approximate to 0.2. The other relies on the Hall effect measurements and suggests that the critical point and the quantum phase transition (QPT) take place at optimal doping, p(opt) approximate to 0.16. Here we have performed a precise density of states calculation and found that there are two QPTs and the corresponding critical concentrations associated with the change of the Fermi surface topology upon doping.
