Аннотация:
Выращены кристаллы K2NbOF5·H2O, проведены поляризационно-оптические исследования, измерены двулучепреломление и углы вращения оптической индикатрисы в интервале температур 100-400 K. Установлено, что при комнатной температуре этот слоистый кристалл в зависимости от степени влажности атмосферы может находиться в трех состояниях: A, B и C, различающихся симметрией и свойствами. Кристалл K2NbOF5·H2O в состоянии A, реализующийся при относительной влажности RH=90-100%, испытывает несобственный сегнетоэластический фазовый переход первого рода P 1=ftrightarrow C2/m, сопровождающийся сильными аномалиями оптических характеристик, двойникованием, появлением сдвиговой деформации x6 при температурах T2 downarrow =308 K и T2 uparrow =313 K. Наиболее устойчивое состояние K2NbOF5·H2O --- B (RH =20-90%) --- сохраняет моноклинную симметрию C2/m в области температур 100-370 K. В сухой атмосфере (RH =0-20%) или при T1~370 K кристалл становится безводным (K2NbOF5) с симметрией P4/nmm (состояние C). Различие кристаллов в состояниях A и B объясняется наличием или отсутствием молекул воды в межслоевых пространствах.20-90%) --- сохраняет моноклинную симметрию C2/m в области температур 100-370 K. В сухой атмосфере (RH =0-20%) или при T1~370 K кристалл становится безводным (K2NbOF5) с симметрией P4/nmm (состояние C). Различие кристаллов в состояниях A и B объясняется наличием или отсутствием молекул воды в межслоевых пространствах.

Аннотация:
An X-ray study of three phase transitions (PTs) at 86, 78 and 72 K has been carried out for the trigonal modification of the Cs3Sb2I9 crystal (space group P-3m1, a = 8.460 Angstrom, c = 10.398 Angstrom). The T-c1 = 86 K PT preserves the trigonal
symmetry
and is associated with the doubling of the c-parameter. At T-c2 = 72 K a doubling of a and b is observed. An intermediate incommensurate phase with q(1) = 1/2c*, q(2) = (1/2 - delta)a* + 1/2c* has been detected in the temperature range of 78-72 K. The lock-in PT at 72 K has a first order character. Strong dependence of birefringence and absorption spectra of d-d, f-f and charge transfer transitions on the direction of light beam in the plane perpendicular to the threefold crystallographic axis has been found out in trigonal crystal Nd:GdFe2.1Ga0.9(BO3)(4). X-ray measurements have shown that the crystal consists of inversion twins, whose formation is stimulated by the partial substitution of Fe by Ga. Observed violation of axial
symmetry

Аннотация:
Phosphor materials with ultra‐high color purity are highly desired in backlit display and WLEDs. How to achieve high‐purity three‐primary emission in rare earth ions activated inorganic phosphors has become a hot topic. Herein, we reported ultra‐narrow band and highly efficient blue‐violet‐emitting Eu2+‐doped Ba2B5O9X (fwhm = 31 nm) and NaBa4(AlB4O9)2X3 (X = Cl, Br) (fwhm = 43 nm) phosphors with peak positions around 424‐437 nm. Especially, the color purity of Ba2B5O9Cl:Eu sample even exceeded 97%, its internal quantum efficiency could achieve 87%. The EXANES analysis revealed that the Eu mainly existed in the form of +2. According to the Rietveld structural refinement, extraordinarily narrow band emission should be attributed to the highly symmetric lattice structures with the flower‐like polyhedrons in the studied (alumino)borate matrix. Significantly, the color gamut of as‐prepared blue phosphor combined with the standard green and red phosphors was almost close to that of Rec. 2020 display standard. In addition, cation substitution strategy in NaBa4(AlxB5‐xO9)2Cl3 (x = 0‐4) and NaBa4(GayB5‐yO9)2Cl3 (y = 0‐3) samples successfully achieved spectra adjustment, and the underlying mechanism was proposed. All these results demonstrate that the as‐prepared phosphors could be superior blue‐emitting candidates for backlit display as well as WLEDs.

Аннотация:
We consider Bloch bound states in the radiation continuum in periodic arrays of dielectric spheres. It is demonstrated that the bound states are associated with phase singularities of the quasimode coupling strength. That makes the bound states topologically protected and, therefore, robust against any variation of parameters preserving the periodicity and rotational
symmetry
about the array axis. It is shown that under variation of parameters the bound states can only be destroyed by either annihilation of the topological charge or by migration to the sector of the parametric space where the second radiation channel is open.

Аннотация:
Ceramic samples of the system Tl-Pb-Sr-Ca-Ba-Cu-O-F have been prepared by modification of standard Tl-based ceramics by BaF2. A cubic structure with parameter a = 6.04 A is found by powder X-ray analysis. Both electric and magnetic data reveal superconductivity with T(ci) = 117 K. Electron conductivity is found at T = 300 K.

is considered using the diagram technique for Hubbard operators and irreducible Green's functions. It is shown that these interactions lead to a decrease in T-c by a factor of several tens.

Аннотация:
We argue that Raman study of Fe-pnictides is a way to unambiguously distinguish between various superconducting gaps proposed for these materials. We show that A(1g) Raman intensity develops a true resonance peak below 2 Delta if the pairing gap has A(1g)
symmetry
in the folded Brillouin zone (Delta(k=0)=Delta, Delta(pi, pi)=-Delta). No such peak develops for a pure s-wave gap, a d-wave gap, and an extended s-wave gap with Delta(k) =Delta cosk(x)/2cosk(y)/2. We show that the peak remains quite strong for the values of interpocket impurity scattering used to fit NMR data.

Аннотация:
We consider magnetic mechanism of superconducting pairing in the effective low energy t - t' - t '' - J* model with all parameters calculated ab initio. Interaction of strongly correlated electrons with different phonon modes is also incorporated. In a BCS type theory, the d(x2-y2) gap is given by a sum of magnetic and phonon contributions. The main contribution to the only fitting parameter G is determined by a competition of the breathing and buckling modes. Fitting the parameter G from the isotope effect, we obtain that magnetic and phonon contributions to the critical temperature T-c work together and are of the same order of magnitude.

Аннотация:
Analysis of the incommensurate magnetic structure that emerges for two coexisting types of the antisymmetric Dzyaloshinski-Moriya exchange interaction (the weakly ferromagnetic component of vector D along the tetragonal axis and the helicoidal component distributed in the tetragonal plane) is carried out for the first time for a tetragonal antiferromagnet. The helicoidal component for each pair of interacting spins has a 2D distribution; its direction in the tetragonal plane depends on the direction of the exchange bond in each pair. The Lifshits invariant of the Ginzburg-Landau functional is obtained, which is responsible for the formation of an incommensurate magnetic structure for such a distribution. It is shown in the mean field approximation that the incommensurate magnetic structure that forms in this case is a nonlinear double helicoid with a modulation vector lying in the tetragonal plane and with a varying angle between the polarization planes of quasi-antiferromagnetic sublattices. The ground state of the magnet is degenerate in the orientation of the modulation vector in the tetragonal plane. The rate of variation in the orientations of moments in the polarization planes passing through the tetragonal axis is controlled by the angle between the directions of the moments and the tetragonal axis. The local weakly ferromagnetic moment remaining in the polarization plane varies in magnitude and sign. The relation between the orientations of the modulation and polarization vectors is derived for the cases of simple and inversion tetragonal axes in the space

Аннотация:
We study the dependence of the superconducting gaps on both the disorder and the temperature within the two-band model for iron-based materials. In the clean limit, the system is in the s± state with sign-changing gaps. Scattering by nonmagnetic impurities leads to the change of the sign of the smaller gap, resulting in a transition from the s± to the s++ state with the sign-preserving gaps. We show here that the transition is temperature-dependent. Thus, there is a line of s±→s++ transition in the temperature–disorder phase diagram. There is a narrow range of impurity scattering rates, where the disorder-induced s±→s++ transition occurs at low temperatures, but then the low-temperature s++ state transforms back to the s± state at higher temperatures. With increasing impurity scattering rate, the temperature of such s++→s± transition shifts to the critical temperature Tc, and only the s++ state is left for higher amounts of disorder.

The current report is devoted to the study of magnetic properties of MnGeO3 single crystals with orthorhombic
symmetry
Pbca. MnGeO3 single crystals have been grown by a flux method. A new data of magnetic measurements in magnetic fields up to 80 kOe are presented. A spin-flop transition is observed at Hsf=35 kOe and T=4.2 K along a-axis. The exchange and anisotropy fields are determined. © 2010 IOP Publishing Ltd.

Using the diagram technique for Hubbard operators, the effect of quasi-two-dimensionality and hybridization of the 4f electrons of cerium ions and p electrons of indium ions on the properties of the antiferromagnetic, superconducting, and mixed phases in heavy-fermion intermetallic compounds of cerium is studied. It is shown that taking into account quasi-two-dimensionality, low-energy hybridization processes renormalize the antiferromagnetic and superconducting order parameters in the broken time-reversal
symmetry
phase. Estimates of the critical temperatures of antiferromagnetic ordering and Cooper instability, obtained by the developed approach, are in good agreement with experimental data for cerium-based intermetallic compounds. © 2016, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

of holes is investigated in the multielectron band theory which takes into account strong correlations. It is shown that a small number of d(z2) states appears near the Fermi level due to d(z2) Cu-2p(x(y))O charge transfer as admixture to d(x2-y2)-p(x(y)) bands with dominant contribution of O2p states. The results are in a qualitative agreement with polarized photoemission data.

We present stable
symmetry
breaking solutions in a nonlinear optical cavity with dipole eigenmodes embedded into the propagation band of a directional photonic crystal waveguide for symmetric injecting condition. We demonstrate how this phenomenon can be exploited for all-optical switching of light transmission from the one side of the waveguide to another by application of input pulses. When the light injected to both sides of the waveguide has equal intensities but different phases, we reveal a wealth of new solutions. (c) 2012 Optical Society of America

We consider
symmetry
breaking in the simplest open quantum nonlinear systems such as dimer and plaquette of four nonlinear sites coupled with linear tight-binding wires. If the solution is stationary, the total Hilbert space can be projected into the inner states of the dimer or plaquette by the Feshbach procedure. That derives a nonlinear analogue of the Lippmann-Schwinger equation with injected wave as a source. By neglecting radiation shifts the Lippmann-Scwinger equation limits to the coupled mode theory equations widely used in optics. We show three scenarios for the transmission through the nonlinear quantum systems. The first one inherits the linear case and preserves the
symmetry
. In the second scenario the
symmetry
is broken because of different intensities at the dimer sites. In the third scenario the intensities at the sites are equaled but phases of complex wave function are different. That results in a vortical power flow between the nonlinear sites similar to the DC Josephson current. We show how the phenomenon of
symmetry
breaking can used for switching of outputs symmetrically coupled to the quantum dimer . Also we reveal a domain in the parameter space where none of stationary solutions exist. As a result injection of a monochromatic symmetric wave gives rise to emission of nonsymmetric satellite waves with energies different from the energy of the incident wave. Thus, the response exhibits non monochromatic behavior.
